  1. I was just going by that this season and his career he has been best htting out of the #5 spot. Either way I'll be happy
  2. Damn I love it when Im right on target with my predictions
  3. Hmm, maybe Cashman picked up a relief pitcher on waivers?
  4. Proof that this year he's on pace to break the single season record for Ks?
  5. I wasnt bashing cora... Clearly a 5 inning session to see if he can make a start soon for Boston, should include at least one of the regular position players. Im just not sold on Wells yet (Granted Tito took too long to pull him last time out). Saturday is going to be a big start for him.
  6. Francona had Wells pitch to Kapler and CORA. All we heard was rave reviews and that no rehab start was needed, well you saw the stats in the end against Cleveland
  7. Good luck in Baltimore Stern if you get up there. That diving catch with 2 outs in the 9th & bases loaded was down right sick
  8. Boston Globe Its also been noted by Gordon that Ken Huckaby was DFA'd after the game had ended
  9. Wily Mo has been hitting close to .400 since coming off of the DL, IMO a big upgrade from what we were getting from Trot lately. He is not as mcuh of a K victim this year compared to how he has been in the past. With the guidance of Manny, Papi, and the great Papa Jack, he has been showing more patience as of late. He is 24 years old so not at all a lost cause ----------------------------------- Jekyll & Hyde much?
  10. Keep in mind that other teams like the Angels, A's, White Sox & Twins (teams who sought out a big bat during the deadline) could claim him before the Sox even get a chance. Even so the Braves were intent on getting a package that included Lester. That being said I dont think the odds are on our favor. He is in the National League as well, so National League teams would get first dibs. The Sox would then be 28th in line
  11. Nick Carfardo is reporting that it will be a player who is currently on the 40-man roster: Abe Alvarez, Kason Gabbard, David Pauley, Jermaine Van Buren, Alejandro Machado, Brandon Moss, Adam Stern Along with what you said, the prospects the Sox probably wouldnt mind giving up -------------------------------------------- EDIT: Jeez I didnt expect this soon to be trade, to be one of the biggest sport stories of the day
  12. Id say. Even his plate patience is looking pretty good, he has only whiffed 24 times, and hearing some rave reviews about his defense. Cant imagine how his numbers would be if he wasnt placed on the DL in spring training which resulted in a slow start
  13. Javy the new #5 hitter? This season (11 games) he has a .289 avg. Overall, he holds a career .298 avg in that slot, so just a proposed lineup Id like to see 1. Youkilis 2. Loretta 3. Ortiz 4. Ramirez 5. Lopez 6. Pena 7. Lowell (Tito put him back where he has excelled the best this season) 8. Crisp 9. Gonzalez
  14. The overall pitching has to get better Not sure of the ERA, but Im guessing its up there.,. Cleveland series 44 Hits, 26 Runs, 8 Walks, 21 Ks, 36 innings
  15. cant come back from them all Thanks to Beckett for his implosion, ho-hum yet another game where a Boston starter cant go more than 6 innings Huckaby batting with bases loaded/no outs in the 6th inning was killer (though not under control of team), made it 2 quick outs Sox officially in 2nd place. They have to take advantge of their next 3 series-- Tampa, Kansas City, Baltimore
  16. Coco taking advice from Manny, have success against their former team the Guardians Coco these 4 games, 7 for 15
  17. I second that, its looking pretty big right now. Javy is also 6 for 11 against Millwood with 2 Hrs
  18. Think Wedge will got to Betancourt for the last 2 innings?
  19. Gonzo, I think I love ya Would someone please cut the "waiting till the offseason", Gold Glove award at his locker... stat
  20. Welll Snyder is having trouble keeping his team in the game tonight Can Hansen reduce his con of baserunners?
  21. take him out of the game tito, no revenge tonight. just a rehash of his last performance
  22. Lowell has been cold since the All-Star Break and hasnt seemed to handle the #5 spot all season, its time to try out Wily Mo to protect Manny
  23. He has been getting better with the HRs last 4 starts (including today) 2 HRs, both solo, allowed in 24 innings pitched
  24. Very true, cant have a catcher come in for his first game and catch for a pitcher he hasnt even practiced with before. Its too bad, he is 6 for 11 lifetime against Westbrook with couple of HRs
