    Theyre bullpen just looks weaker. Batters' eyes will light up if Riske is the closer at beginning of the season. Didnt both the White Sox & Guardians avoid using him late in the game?

Now this is a guy taking a pay cut for his hometown team. He couldve easily gotten 6 years or more/and inching toward the $150 million mark. Let alone he could be able to go to a team that actually has a chance of making the playoffs

    Coco will probably have a .280 season with like 10-15 HRs/60+ RBIs. If Drew is healthy and hit like the way he should (what we saw in ST as well) he could have something like a .290/18 HR/85+ RBI campagin. Manny before he bailed out on the sinking 06 team still had 35 HRs, 102 RBIs. Look for him to come back to the 40 HRs. Then theres Wily Mo off of the bench. In just 261 ABs and with a wrist injury he still managed to hit above .300 and have an 11 HR/43 RBI season. I wouldnt be surprise if he puts up 15 to 20 jacks this year

    And if Ortiz, Manny, Drew, Coco, Wily Mo Pena, Mike Lowell, Kevin Youkilis, Jason varitek, and Papelbon all miss considerable time again... then yea If Manny & Drew both stay healthy, I dont see any cause for concern in that dept

    Im guessing you think the loss could be game 2 where Beckett pitches. In 3 starts last year vs KC he went 1-0 with a 2.45 ERA.

    Hahah ease up before you start calling this kid a hack, youre panties are really getting tied in a bunch about Damon here. Jacoby Ellsbury isnt actually Joey Gathright hitting the ball, right now his max for HR potential is 10 which Im sure was the max set for Damon when he first started out. By the way uh when was terms of power an essential need for leading off? Ellsbury is being touted as a future gold glover with a cannon of an arm.     Personally I feel that Roger will go back to Houston. Last year he did that whole song & dance that the team he would go to would be in serious contention nearing the All-Star Break. Boston- comfortable 5 game lead over NY at time he made decison, pro-rated $21 million, best offense in 1st half (run support ka-ching), lights out closer to help him save Ws Houston- were they even sniffing the lead for the NL Central?, pro-rated $22 million, inept offense who still gave him no run support, shaky closer as they could come

    Ease up 700, even if Pedro was on the 2005 team, I dont think theres a sure given that the Sox wouldve had back to back titles. The bullpen was in bad shape alone. Lets say Pedro was resigned to a 4 year deal, whose to say the Sox wouldve still gone hard for Beckett after the 2005 season. Hell we could right now have 2+ 40 year old starting pitchers and Pedro on the DL until the All-Star break coming back from major surgery. He did the smart move going to the national league. His ERA would increse easily if he stayed in this division.

    Im pretty sure they got Drew because he is a considerable upgrade from Trot, not to compensate for the loss of Johnny Damon. Why are you comparing the 2? So Damon is now set to be a consistent 22-25 HR hitter, and Drew will never reach that feat? Damon- center field, lead off hitter Drew- right field, #5 hitter

    Something interesting of note is that earlier this week Pedroia changed his # from 64 to 15, since then he has had a 5 game hitting streak

    Not even going on ST stats I do believe that Boston's staff as a whole will be in the top range for strikeouts. Spring Stats
