Ive been on a high since the game started that I now just remembered that Daisuke is on my fantasy team I still cant believe I got him in the 10th round
Nah but if all goes well, he could someday find himself as a prototypical #2 hitter. He has great plate patience (doesnt K a lot), sees a lot of pitches, and can hit the ball toward all areas of the field
Guys this isnt a reactionary move at all to the first 2 games of the season for Coco. Ive been saying since the offseason began that I envision Ellsbury manning center field for the 2008 season
Sox offense is showing a good tempo in the first 3 games, and that is scoring in the 1st inning
EDIT: Nice poise by Matsuzaka. Known for being a gold glove pitcher in japan, he showed some of that off while making a crisp throw to 2nd to start the double play!
The Matsuzaka era starts today!
EDIT: Check out the Matsuzaka commericial for Nike that of course is only airing in Japan. God this kid is getting me psyched to the max

Keep it up Drew, show why the Sox signed you to that 5 year deal...
Lets soak this win up and get ready for the major league debut of Daisuke Matsuzaka I guess BoSox is making the thread tomorrow? I hope the skies stay clear, NESN said rain would start coming around at 3pm with chance of sleet
First victory boys!
The bats came alive, and the pitching stepped it up from where it was tuesday afternoon. The relief pitching went 4 scoreless innings, allowing just 1 hit and striking out 3. The downside I can think of for this game is Mike Lowell's 3 errors and Beckett had a rough night with his command. He still battled and gave up a run on 2 hits in 5 innings. The command just needs to be there
As you know Ive said before that the sub mendoza line avg was hurt by him starting off with just 4 hits in 41 ABs. He then responded by going 13 for his last 48, and is now starting to hit good to start off the season. Its all about how he is when he is first promoted, it also took him awhile to heat up in Triple A last year
