  1. Paps' 1st save for the season last year was Beckett's first game... now this year his first save is for Dice-K's first game The future is bright
  2. Ive been on a high since the game started that I now just remembered that Daisuke is on my fantasy team I still cant believe I got him in the 10th round
  3. Nah but if all goes well, he could someday find himself as a prototypical #2 hitter. He has great plate patience (doesnt K a lot), sees a lot of pitches, and can hit the ball toward all areas of the field
  4. What have I been saying since he was called up? People will grow to love him, he does what he can to help his team win.
  5. Thats 5 for 10, atta boy Dusty. 7 pitch battle too
  6. David Ortiz flashing off his "speed":ortiz:
  7. 7 innings (108 pitches)- 6 Hits, 1 Run, 1 Walk, 10 Ks Donnelly for the 8th?
  8. 10 Ks!!! Guys we are watching something special to behold
  9. Dusty keep it up... Pedroia has hit safely in first 3 games, 4 for 9 on the season
  10. Dice-K deals 8th K in 6 innings! 95 pitches, does Terry call the bullpen or send him out for the 7th on a short leash
  11. Crisp 0 for his first 9, 4 Ks in that span
  12. Gimme some more! Dice-K strikes out the side, thats 5 in 4 innings thus far. he has retired 10 straight batters. 54 pitches through 4
  13. Very rare to see Pedroia strikeout. That was just his 8th strikeout in 97 ABs
  14. 40 pitches for Daisuke in 3 innings (24 for strikes)
  15. 1st major league strikeout for Dice-K! First of many more to come First 2 innings Schilling- 57 Pitches Beckett- 37 pitches Matsuzaka- 27 pitches
  16. Guys this isnt a reactionary move at all to the first 2 games of the season for Coco. Ive been saying since the offseason began that I envision Ellsbury manning center field for the 2008 season
  17. Sox offense is showing a good tempo in the first 3 games, and that is scoring in the 1st inning EDIT: Nice poise by Matsuzaka. Known for being a gold glove pitcher in japan, he showed some of that off while making a crisp throw to 2nd to start the double play!
  18. The Matsuzaka era starts today! EDIT: Check out the Matsuzaka commericial for Nike that of course is only airing in Japan. God this kid is getting me psyched to the max http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUhE4mnb4Ow
  19. Keep it up Drew, show why the Sox signed you to that 5 year deal... Lets soak this win up and get ready for the major league debut of Daisuke Matsuzaka I guess BoSox is making the thread tomorrow? I hope the skies stay clear, NESN said rain would start coming around at 3pm with chance of sleet
  20. First victory boys! The bats came alive, and the pitching stepped it up from where it was tuesday afternoon. The relief pitching went 4 scoreless innings, allowing just 1 hit and striking out 3. The downside I can think of for this game is Mike Lowell's 3 errors and Beckett had a rough night with his command. He still battled and gave up a run on 2 hits in 5 innings. The command just needs to be there
  21. As you know Ive said before that the sub mendoza line avg was hurt by him starting off with just 4 hits in 41 ABs. He then responded by going 13 for his last 48, and is now starting to hit good to start off the season. Its all about how he is when he is first promoted, it also took him awhile to heat up in Triple A last year
  22. Dusty continuing to gel, another base hit for him, another time getting on base, another ball he has hit with some force behind it. Ho hum
  23. As long as Snyder is not starting games, he's not that much of a pain to have as the long innings guy
