The Rockies have been incredible with runners in scoring position. This team just straight caught fire... 7-5, middle of the eighth. By the way, I love how they show actual commercials on MLB.tv now. Most of them are MLB team commercials -- like watching the Rockies/Dodgers game I just got a Mariners commercial followed by an A's commercial. Cool to get to see 'em. One of the biggest at bats of the season for SD. Brian Giles up with 2 out and 2 on in the 9th, down by 1.

Up 6-5 on the Dodgers, San Diego's losing in San Francisco. Should the Rockies go on to win and the Padres go on to lose, there would be a three way tie atop the wildcard standings.

Hate to bring this up again but the new Tuesday Morning Quarterback article brings up an interesting point about the spygate situation -- more specifically, why the NFL, who pledged to get to the bottom of this issue, destroyed the tapes so quickly. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=easterbrook/070925&sportCat=nfl&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab1pos1 I find it extremely difficult to believe that this whole situation doesn't go a lot deeper than we know. -

I don't want them to do it . I just want Brett Favre to keep kicking ass. They clearly look like the best team in the NFC so far. Dallas ain't too great against the Pass and if Favre keeps it up, they sure as hell won't be able to stop the Pack's passing attack.

Can we talk about the Rockies? 4.5 games back and riding a 5 game winning streak, the Rockies went to Petco to play the widcard leading Padres. Rockies swept the then-red hot Padres and now only trail by 1.5 games, having played one more game than the Padres. Rockies have three against the Dodgers and then 3 against the Padres remaining... Padres have 3 against the Giants and four against the Brewers. The Phillies are .5 out of the wildcard and have Atlanta and Washington. I know they're not great but considering the team is red hot... what are their chances here? I believe the Rockies hold the tie breaker against each team.

Shanahan's got balls... going for it on 4th and 5 from their own ten yardline with 5 minutes left. I liked the playcall, no matter what the announcer said... and you can't throw the ball any better than Cutler did and Daniel Graham just lost it. Stupid mistakes cost the Broncos the game. Selvin Young's fumble towards the end of the second quarter, Hixon's fumble to start the 3rd... 6 points served on a platter to Jacksonville. I said Brandon Marshall's going to be great and I stand by that. 6'5", 230 with 4.4 speed and he can make plays with the ball in his hands. Cutler can make any throw on the field but stupid mistakes and penalties put the team in 2nd and 3rd in long way too often. Didn't put them selves into positions where they could run the football with Henry. Once the team puts it all together, more likely next year than this year, they're going to be a very good team. Packers are going to win the NFC. Brett Favre is going to lead my fantasy team of misfits to the promise land.

Broncos suck... Can't stop the run, can't stop the pass on third down... the playcalling is god-awful. 4th and 1 from inside the 5 yardline... you call your final time out of the game (in the third quarter) and the absolute best thing you can come up with is a QB sneak?! It's hard to take Shanahan seriously sometimes when he pulls s*** like that. On another note, Brandon Marshall's going to be a great player in this league. And somehow, my originally terrible fantasy football team on another forum looks poised to advance to 3-0.
