The combination of Ernie Johnson and Cal Ripken in the studio break is awesome. Ernie Johnson's the man and you can actually learn something from Cal. He's no Charles Barkley (who, obviously, does TNT's NBA studio show with EJ and Kenny Smith) in terms of entertainment but he's great at it. Frank Thomas seems a little uncomfortable but so far he hasn't been all that good -- I'll give him a little bit to possibly loosen up before I judge him too much.
I like the graphics package... simple, easy to read, no annoying beeps and scrolling text like you'd see on FOX. No McCarver... I actually kind of like Buck, though. The announcers tonight weren't all that great -- Steve Stone is usually good, but I think he's best as part of a three man team. The play by play guy was stumbling over calls all night. No Joe Morgan, either.
BTW... good thing they made 50,000 different promos for Frank Caliendo's show or else those commercials would get old quick -- as it is, I love Caliendo so I really want to see it. I've noticed that TBS promotes their shows a tad bit much -- they did it with House of Payne too.
edit again: Orsillo's partner is already stumbling over his words. "If the Phillies go down 0-2, that'd be a really big mountain for them to climb out of"
