  1. 9-4 Brewers! Rockies fate is in their own hands barring a miracle by SD. 1-0 Rockies!
  2. Oh... my... god... Broncos defense got a stop against the Colts, and it wasn't because a Colts player dropped a pass. I'm not sure they've done that the past two or three times they've played 'em... and I'm completely serious. And I stand by the fact that Brandon Marshall is going to be a superstar. And the running game looks great... keep Peyton on the sideline, boys. 10-0 Broncos. Looking real good.
  3. Rockies chances look pretty good now if they can get some runs across. Padres are down 2 and the Brewers are threatening to tack on some more runs. edit: Rockies rookie pitcher just had his no hitter broken up in the sixth. Big time performance by a rookie in a game the Rockies need. Now if the offense could get going...
  4. How about Daunte Culpepper? Gets cut by the Dolphins... played today for the Raiders in Miami, threw for two touchdowns, ran for three... guy could barely even drop back to pass last year.
  5. Gotta love those cupcake games. But it's smart... they'll get into a bowl and get some exposure and continue to build their program off of that.
  6. That's for sure. Baltimore hasn't looked good at all this season.
  7. Padres down 6-4, Rockies tied at zeros.
  8. It could still happen after this crazy ass week. If Oregon beats USC, Cal beats Oregon, Oklahoma finishes with one loss, Florida beats LSU or LSU wins and loses in the eventual SEC Championship game and the Big East is as big of a clusterf*** as it could be then it could be pandemonium at a level the BCS has never even seen before... Michigan seems to have righted the ship... what if them or Purdue wins the Big Ten? Nobody in the Big Ten can stop a spread offense and that's what Purdue runs. Hawaii could be the only remaining undefeated!
  9. If the Rockies win tomorrow and SD loses they get, at least, a one game playoff. Whether it happens or not, this team played extremely admirably down the stretch and it's the first time in a long time you really feel proud to be a Rockies fan. I've watched far more Rockies games than Sox games in the past and it's great to see them playing meaningful games for the first time in a long time.
  10. Oh Sooners. And I thought so highly of you. Overlooked Colorado and the #3 Sooners lost this afternoon. edit: Hot dog! And Texas is down 10 to K-State! Big XII sucks.
  11. I hate frivolous lawsuits. I hope they consider this vexatious litigation and he is unable to pursue any legal action in the future.
  12. For the sake of my health... I don't know about that, man... 2003 and 2004 each took atleast three years off of my life.
  13. By the way, Crunchy... we have no idea to what extent Bill Belichick has cheated and how long he's done it for -- the fact that the NFL destroyed those tapes quickly despite saying they would "get to the bottom of it" and the fact that they fail to give a good reason for doing so does seem extremely suspicious.
  14. For one, Gibbs' struggle to adjust to the modern-day NFL hurts is legacy enough to drop him below the ranks of Walsh and company. Part of what makes great coaches great is an ability to adjust, no? I understand Daniel Snyder sucks at assembling teams, but the Skins ain't even been close. I got the '84 49ers beating the Giants 31-10 in the regular season beating the Giants 21-10 in the postseason. '85 is correct, but that was a 10-6 49ers team... hardly his best -- Jerry Rice's rookie year and as I understand it, the 49ers racked up more yardage than the Giants in that game... just couldn't cash in. '87 the 49ers beat the Giants 41-21 in the regular season (I think it's obvious that BB had Walsh's number in that one), and the 49ers lost to the Vikings in the first round of the playoffs. These are Walsh's point totals against the Giants from 1984 to 1988, his last year as head coach. 31, 21, 3, 17, 41, 20 edit: missed a year, there was another 3, and a 17 in there. 17 points a game is Bill Walsh getting shut down by Belichick? Walsh torched him as many times as Belichick shut him down. They were 10-5-1 the year they lost 49-3, so it wasn't one of his best teams to begin with, and they lost Montana in the second quarter -- not to say the game would've been close but I'm sure they'd have managed more than 3 points. My point is, Crunchy... what in the hell are you talking about?! Aside from one game, I have Walsh doing extremely well against Belichick's defenses. And Seifert's 49ers went on to scorch the Giants defense the next year. And by the way, those 49ers teams had some great defenses ever. And I dare say that those 49ers Super Bowl teams would beat Belichick's Super Bowl teams pretty handily. Clutch kicker ain't worth s*** when you're down by three scores. How about the fact that the Patriots missed the playoffs following their first Super Bowl?
  15. Good stuff... first I was wondering why he was in court, then I was kind of amazed at how much he moved his arms and legs. Glad to hear Everett's getting better, though.
  16. That's for sure. I'm not sure how much a D-ends game can mature over time but he ain't been at the position for too long, either. This USF team is a damn good squad, and the Big East looks pretty damn good -- so who got the better end of Miami, BC, and Va Tech bolting for the ACC? As it stands now, the answer is the Big East, because the ACC is garbage. Great to see USF get the win -- huge game for them. Their first sellout at Raymond James, the entire college football world watching... great for the program.
  17. Sounds about right. It's simple, really -- give rest to those who need rest and give reps to those who need reps.
  18. That is the greatest animation ever.
  19. It was a fun regular season -- the lows weren't nearly as bad as everybody here made them out to be and the highs sure were a lot of fun. I'm glad the Yankees stormed back and gave this team something to play for down the stretch, because I think coasting to the finish line would've hurt the team in the playoffs. So begins a whole new season. I think we're as equipped to do it as anyone.
  20. Unfortunately the Rockies chances did take a hit today. They need some serious help from here on out. Still a valiant effort from a young team -- it's very admirable what they were able to do and for the first time in a while, the Rockies future looks extremely bright.
  21. Scott Proctor, meet Todd motha'-f***in' Helton. Two run shot, 6-3 Rockies! I love this team. edit: 10-3... this Rockies team is insanely good with RISP.
  22. In the scenario's where the Rockies would get two home or one road, you'd have to take the one road game, eh?
  23. • If there's a five-way tie between the D-backs, Padres, Rockies, Mets and Phillies: There will be a lot more baseball to be played. The more the merrier, right? The Phillies would host the Mets on Monday to decide the NL East. The Rockies, Diamondbacks and Padres would play a three-team mini-tournament Monday and Tuesday to decide the NL West champ. The Rockies, who have the best three-way head-to-head record, would have the option of playing two games at Coors Field or one game on the road. However that mini-tourney played out, there'd still be three teams tied for the Wild Card. So strap yourself in for another mini-tourney, to be held Wednesday and Thursday. If the Rockies are one of the three, they'll probably still have the best head-to-head record, so they'd still have that two-at-home-or-one-away option. The team that makes it through those dramatic, dizzying four days would win the Wild Card. If it's an NL West club, they'd open the playoffs at New York or Philly. If it's an NL East team, the NL West division champs get to host the opener. • If a four-way tie features the D-backs, Padres, Rockies and Phillies: Another four-day affair. The Padres, Rockies and Diamondbacks do the Monday-Tuesday tournament. Remember, the Rox make the call: two at home or one on the road. The two NL West runners-up would get thrown into another mini-tourney, with the Phils, on Wednesday and Thursday to determine the Wild Card. In an Arizona-Colorado-Philadelphia three-way, or Arizona-San Diego-Philadelphia, the Diamondbacks get to make that two-or-one pick. If it's Colorado-San Diego-Philadelphia, the Rockies make the call If an NL West team survives, it would then play at the Mets on Friday to kick off the NL Division Series. If it's the Phillies, it would start the NLDS on Friday in the home of the NL West champ. • If there's a four-way tie among the top two finishers in the East and West: Not as hectic, but just as juicy. Right now, those four teams would be the Mets, Phillies, D-backs and Pads. In that case ... The Mets and Phillies, as in the five-way scenario, would play in Philly on Monday to crown the East champ. The Friars and Snakes would go at it Monday in Arizona for the NL West crown. Monday's losing teams would play Tuesday to decide the Wild Card. The Diamondbacks would have to go to Philly or New York. The Padres would either host the Phils or travel to New York. If the Rockies were in the mix here, they'd host either way. • If the Padres, Rockies and Phillies finish in a three-way tie for the Wild Card: The head-to-head records among the three teams would be used to designate each club as A, B or C. The club with the best record would have the first choice, the club with the second best record would have the second choice, and the club with the worst record among the three would get the remaining option. • The Phillies went 4-3 vs. the Padres and 3-4 vs. the Rockies (7-7 overall). • The Rockies went 10-8 vs. the Padres and 4-3 vs. the Phillies (14-11 overall). • The Padres went 8-10 vs. the Rockies and 3-4 vs. the Phillies (11-14 overall). Thus, the Rockies would have the first choice to be designated as club A, B or C. The Phillies would have the second choice. The Padres would get the remaining option, and the games would then be played as follows: A hosts B on Monday, with the winner hosting C on Tuesday. From MLB.com Craziness.
  24. I remember a day when I dreaded Rudy Seanez coming into a baseball game. Now I love it.
