  1. Well, here's a thread to keep track of all the cuts that will occur on what an NFL GM referred to as "Bloody" Thursday, assuming a new CBA doesn't get done... SOON. The Denver Broncos have already cut Trevor Pryce, Mike Anderson and Jeb Putzier, three very big contributors to last season. I know there have been some others but I don't know them off the top of my head. Anyone else got any cuts?
  2. He wanted to wait in case eventually, he was healthy enough to where he thought he could come back and help his team make a run at the Championship. If he felt he could go out there and help his team, he was willing to sacrifice an entire year of eligibility for the tournament.
  3. I think WVU had the element of suprise, last year. Nobody thought they could beat Wake, and then when they did, it was said to be because Paul and Gray fouled out.
  4. Has anyone seen the TE from Maryland's combine numbers? This guy is an absolute athletic freak. He ran a 4.39 40. In his last year of college he benched 465, squatted 660, and he has a 42 inch vertical jump.
  5. Yeah, as much as I'd love to see that game, I wouldn't mind Duke being upset at some point. ... then again, at the same time, it wouldn't feel right unless we beat Duke -- just so there's no doubt that we're the best if we win.
  6. If Duke and UConn played 100 times... no doubt in my mind they'd each take 50. So I can't wait.
  7. Well, I'm a little biased, obviously, but I can't go against UConn. Too much talent and too much depth to bet against 'em, in my opinion. But, their concentration has been questionable at times -- can't see 'em slipping up and losing focus in the tournament, though. You never know in the tournament, though! Soooo... UConn, Duke, Villanova, and should all do really well.
  8. They're meant to serve as some kind of symbolism. They represent the Italian Piazzas, or something like that.
  9. Yeah, it's usually kept to Big East and ACC play because in addition to most of the board being from the East (I'm originally from Connecticut, explaining my liking of UConn), but they also happen to be the two best conferences... by far.
  10. Ahh, ok, wasn't sure. Good defense can go a long way towards success in the NBA, as you guys undoubtedly know. He should fair alright in the NBA. Probably won't be in any MVP talks, but won't be mentioned in the same sentence as Sam Bowie and Kwame Brown.
  11. One thing, How's JJ's defense? I don't think JJ will be a phenomenal player, but I think he'll fair better than some of the other guys that have come out from Duke. His shooting ability guarentees he'll be one of the top 8 on an NBA team. It's like somebody on ESPN said. If you're a A+ in any category, you'll get playing time in the NBA. But the general consesus seems to be that he's lacks the size and athleticism to play the two (though, he seems to be underrated, as an athlete), and he doesn't have the passing or ballhandling skills to play the point. I think he'll have success at the NBA level.
  12. Stupid Toronto. Why couldn't they want Kiki Vandeweghe as their President?
  13. So every time a player loses, it gives him the right to complain about his teammates and what they did wrong that caused them to lose (ie. the Lakers not getting Shaq the ball)? I don't believe that should be the case. Besides, I don't remember T.O. getting much positive press for calling out McNabb -- they did lose, so wasn't he justified? edit: I should add that Shaq was being defended by the best defensive big man in the league, and I believe, that years Defensive Player of the Year.
  14. Please show me where I said Kobe is a 'stand up' guy. Until you do that, then you have absolutely nothing. Just out of curiosity, was he proven guilty for Sexual Assault or did that case never even make it to trial? Oh yes, I recall, now. That case reaked of somebody trying benefit off of his celebrity. Of course. Shaq's a saint. Nevermind the fact that he complained about not getting enough touches in the Finals against the Pistons. Nevermind the fact that he complained about not getting enough touches in last years playoffs.
  15. If Shaq had kept his shut, Kobe never would've mentioned the possibly of opting out of his contract. Like I said, it's cute that you guys think Shaq never said or did anything wrong.
  16. It's cute how people act like Shaq had nothing to do with that whole falling out. Sure, Kobe would have opted out of his contract, but Shaq's the one who demanded to be traded. What's the f***ing difference?
  17. I will say one more thing about Kobe Bryant... Those tights that he, and a few others, wear beneath their shorts are inexcusable.
  18. So long as Kobe doesn't shoot that many times a game, his team's going to be among the worst in the league.
  19. :D Connecticut - 89 Villanova - 75 Better move back up to 2, now.
  20. I wish the whole thing could go through without any players getting hurt, even Yankees. Wishful thinking, though.
  21. Congratulations to Redick. I've never been his biggest fan, but he's a tremendous player. I've been watching and he wasn't getting any calls for a while to send him to the line to get it.
  22. Yeah, 'Cuse is in. Unless they get embarassed in the Big East tournament, or something I don't see happening.
  23. I don't know if anyone's had a chance to read Pat Forde's article on ESPN.com about J.J. Reddick, but it provides great insight into the man so many people love to hate, myself included. I must admit, it does make him seem a little less hatable to me. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=forde_pat&id=2339265
  24. Yep, that's how I got my #1 seeds looking.
  25. 'Melo gets the 6th game winner of his career on a tough three pointer with a man in his face from the corner. Amazing game, tonight. They almost gave it away with a bad turnover/no-call on KG and then another turnover by K-Mart that lead to what would've been the game winner if not for 'Melo by Ricky Davis.
