  1. True, true. But they usually get up for the big games.
  2. Suuuure, UConn played awful basketball and still had a chance to tie the game late IN Philly.
  3. Tough to tell what ESPN is thinking, everything on their website is insider only.
  4. Back to the Nuggets/Sixers deal that 'almost went down' last night for just a second; according to RealGM:
  5. I'm thinking the time they took to 'consider', they spent laughing at Kiki and his offer. Now we're willing to deal Nene. We could've had Redd for him (straight up, if I remember correctly), Ray Allen for him in a sign and trade, but why would we want guys who could actually contribute?
  6. Nene, Earl Watson, and Voshon Lenard
  7. Yeah, all that happened there was that Denver put together a package that Philly considered. I never saw a realistic shot at getting him. Also, it should be mentioned that Reuben Patterson has to register as a sex offender in Denver. Great guy to bring in.
  8. Seeing how tall it was and who made it was the only reason I did read the article. I thought it looked small in the picture, too. I wonder who gets to keep the trophy for the winning country.
  9. How? We STILL don't have a shooter. The shooter we had a chance to acquire last year in Michael Redd or in the offseason with Ray Allen, but we were too stubborn to give up the often injured Nene, who we're probably going to lose to Free Agency anyway. Not only did we not acquire a shooter, we gave up the only guy that can shoot consistently, in Earl Watson. How do they not, some how, at some level, pick up that one thing? We got a "rebounding specialist" who averages just 7 rebounds a game, one of the NBA's biggest basket-cases who hasn't made a three on the year, and a 40% 3 point shooter who won't touch the court. Anybody who would rather draft Skita and Darco (who serve as nothing more than metaphorical victory cigars) over Amare and 'Melo do not deserve a job -- and he probably won't have one for Denver, this year. His two wasted draft picks this year certainly didn't change my opinion of him. The only thing I can really say he did an exceptional job with is the trade to bring Nene and Camby to Denver for McDyess, but it's not too difficult to get the better end of a trade with the Knicks with Thomas as GM.
  10. The article says it's 25 inches tall, though.
  11. Eh, atleast the trophy for this crappy tournament ain't bad. I wouldn't expect anything less than a great looking trophy from Tiffany & Co. They always do a fantastic job. I particularly like their trophy for the Nextel Cup Series.
  12. Yeah, the RPI top 150 contains such powerhouses as the St. Peter's, Siena, Farleigh Dickinson, and Illinois-Chicago. Give me wins over RPI Top 50's and I'm convinced. By the way, completely unrelated to whether or not Hofstra should be in the tournament or not... they have some absolutely atrocious uniforms.
  13. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2341845 Nuggets traded Watson ( ) and didn't even get a real shooting threat out of it. I hate Kiki Vandeweghe. He's no Isaiah Thomas... but he's god awful. Talk about an absolutely pointless free agent signing. They sign Watson who, for a while, gets no playing time behind Miller and Boykins. Then gets to play because of injuries, and plays very, very good -- plays great with your Franchise player unlike Boykins who doesn't play great with anyone! And then they trade him. Good Earl, you will be missed. f*** it, I'm selling my services as a fan. Any of you guys looking for another fan for your team? Until Kiki's gone I'm done with Denver.
  14. Ok, ok, people. Look. We can all agree on this one point. Most of Canada's team works in the USA, make millions in the USA, send their kids to school in the USA -- they should be playing for the USA. Seriously, what more reason do they need to represent the USA in the olympics?
  15. Most of the US fans didn't expect anything from this team this year. It was a young team that should be competitive in the future -- that's what we expected, for the most part. Canadians were celebrating their gold medal the day there roster was announced.
  16. Yeah, that UConn game should've been a loss considering the way that they played at times. I'll take the win, but I'm not too happy with the fact that Notre Dame was able to take UConn to OT. A few weeks ago, I was soooo confident in UConn's chances in the tournament... but now... :dunno:
  17. None taken.
  18. Kudos to J.J. As much as I dislike the guy, he's a hell of a lot of fun to watch play basketball.
  19. Iggy should've been handed the title after he went off the back of the backboard. And it should've been a ten... which would've meant a tie... which would've meant two more amazing dunks. Everyone would win if there was a tie... everyone!
  20. UConn with a big road win over West Virginia on the road (edit: Redundant, I know). West Virginia seems to be slipping, though. Do they not have enough depth? Not sure how effective they'll be in the tourney since they won't be coming out of nowhere again. I have cause for concern with UConn, though. With a small lead, they missed the front end of 2 one-and-one's and Rudy missed one of two at the line late. Against Villanova, poor free throw shooting pretty much did them in in a game they had a chance to win, even though they played bad enough to lose by a large margin.
  21. Iggy with the best dunk I've ever seen in a dunk contest, though. That one off of the back of the backboard was just sick. Robinson is an athlete, man. All those attempts, and still being able to get up like he does... absolutely amazing.
  22. I think Bow Wow is about 17 or so. He dropped the 'Lil' from his name when he turned 16, and that seems like it was about a year ago. Either way, he's atleast 16.
  23. Igoudala is going to win. He's, probably, the best dunker in the NBA.
  24. I missed the game, unfortunately. By all the accounts I've heard, the Swiss outplayed Canada, but the officiating didn't help Canada's cause. Sounds like a classic example of completely underestimating your opponents and giving them the confidence to play with you. Wish I could've watched.
  25. Anyone else here about the US Snowboarder who lost the gold because she was taunting and crashed?
