  1. I think manny just hit the cutoff man! (sorry for the sarcasm guys, I'm nervous)
  2. Ohhhhh, sweet! Was that Tavarez warming up in the pen? I hope so! I hope so!
  3. Let's start getting some breaking balls over for strikes, and get a DP ball to AGone (it worked last night) (knock on wood)
  4. Goddamn it MDC. I expect better from you my man.
  5. I thought Curt threw pretty well tonight. He had good location and pitched well enough to get to this point. Not as sharp as other outings, but he is a fighter and having a really, really good season. I'm impressed yet again.
  6. yeah, we're not going to know for sure anyway. I don't really care, although I do like HR as a sports talking head.
  7. This seems like the type of move that a desperate baseball team would make, not a team that is leading the AL East with the 2nd best record in baseball. Clemens would be a fine acquisition but not for Hansen. Murphy yes, Hansen, no way. Hansen is 3 years younger than Joe Nathan was when he started in the bigs for SF, and he is 4 years younger than Brad Lidge was when he first started with Houston. When Mariano Rivera was Hansen's age he was still 4 seasons away from making it to the Yankees. I know, those are lofty comparisons but they are simply to prove a point. Hansen has done a phenomenal job for someone who is 22 and still learning how to pitch. I wouldn't trade him for a 43 year old with 14 weeks left in him. Interesting thought though.
  8. Gordon would be a nice addition, but he wouldn't be happy as the set-up man, would he? I can't imagine he would.
  9. C'mon hansen. Settle down, throw that nasty stuff and get a gb to A-Gone!
  10. I'm just happy we're winning 7-3 with 2 down in the 7th, personally.
  11. No, they'll hope he gets a DP or K and then bring Hansen in.
  12. Yeah, I dislike Swisher too. By the way, I want Swisher on the Red Sox.
  13. Again, the lack of being able to throw a 200 foot strike to a cutoff man is one thing. Not barehanding a ball that my crippled grandmother could have had is another. It's over though. Get oakland tomorrow
  14. God no. A-Rod is not even fun to watch. He is a boring athlete. I try and try to get his appeal, but he's like an uncharasmatic Jeter who makes 2x what Ortiz does. No thanks.
  15. So you also expect him to be able to pick a slowly bouncing baseball up with his barehand without knocking it 10 feet BACKWARDS?
  16. The run scoring is both Manny and Crisp's fault. The person who had the easiest play was Manny. He was the one who was least likely to cause an error given that he didn't a) have to catch a ball at the top of the fence or throw a ball 200 feet to the cutoff man as part of a relay to get the guy at home (a play that still should have been easy). Manny's play was to PICK UP THE BALL and LOB it to the cutoff man.
  17. No, you're missing my point. Errors happen in baseball. They just do. They happen on high fly balls that hit the top 2 inches of the fence on days when it is clearly difficult to see the ball. 2 errors on the same play do not just happen they happen due to a lack of concentration. You clearly think that picking up a slowly bouncing ball with one's bare-hand is harder than catching a towering flyball that hits the top of the fence. I guess that's where we differ.
  18. Again, anyone wondering where Papelbon is?
  19. Because, on that play, Manny was the backup man. It is his job to minimize damage when the first player misses the ball. When he creates MORE damage due to a lack of concentration then I'll give him s*** for it. That's why. Game over
  20. Anyone else wondering where Papelbon is? Anyone? I know TImlin had a good inning last inning, so maybe Francona thinks he'll be good to go.
  21. Anyway, ORS, my point is that there are a lot of CF who don't make that play initially. There are probably 300 OF who are able to pick that ball up with their hands and keep the hit to a double. Within that framework, almost every single OF can throw a one hop to the SS to keep it from being a HR. There is a lot of blame to go around, and in general I'm a big supporter of Manny's defensive play (for a guy with so much offense I'll take his mediocre D). However, I don't think that Coco is nearly as neglegant in the field as Manny is. Two outfielders are to blame for that play. One guy plays CF and does so at a below average level. The other plays LF and plays defense at a below average level most days. Today is one of those days for sure.
  22. CAPTAIN, OHHHHHH CAPTAIN MY CAPTAIN!!!
  23. Why are you measuring where the blame goes? A major league average outfielder picks that ball up with his hand and lobs it into the SS. A non-major league, average human being picks that ball up with his bare hand. f*** YEAH TEK
  24. f***ing A. Manny being Kaplar
