  1. No. manny is an impulsive twitchy meth-head.
  2. Come on YOUK. Its time to beef up those forearms and hit one OUT OF HERE! C'mon man.
  3. Who says this team is not going to make the playoffs?
  4. They have had to fill a LOT of time in their jobs. Although they did just say that Manny is "so impulsive, I don't think even HE knows what he's going to do from at bat to at bat." That's not inane, its just stupid.
  5. So, what's the deal? Can Javy Lopez still hit, or not? Holy Christ, Manny is 4/7 with 4 HR against Meadows.
  6. This season is a 'retooling' season. You obviously don't buy into the Theo philosophy and the multi-year plan to get out of the habit of overspending on primadonnas who aren't much better than their cheaper counterparts. Right now its frustrating, but I'm looking forward to a few years from now, young arms or the result of trading those young arms... either way.
  7. Wow. You've seen this game already? i thought it was live!
  8. I agree, although I think there is still PLENTY of time to sell high on Hansen, given his age and lack of experience coupled with his stuff.
  9. Orioles 5, Yankees 0 today. Just sayin'
  10. I thought hansen looked good for the first few batters. He was throwing his slider consistently. He just needs to learn to pinpoint his fastball a little better so he can get ahead. There is something that Papelbon does that Hansen does not do, but I can't pinpoint it. I think he challenges hitters with HIS pitch, in HIS location. Hansen seems to throw strikes that are not HIS pitches, but pitches that are much better for the hitter. Also, a) no excuse for that guy getting a triple on that play and Lopez looked like he wasn't really blocking the plate or even thinking about it on that play. I miss Tek
  11. I never quite get this argument. The Red Sox have about as much respect as any team in baseball at this point. I would bet that they are in the top three teams in team wins over the past 3-4 seasons and nobody sees them as the underdog anymore... unless they play the Yankees. The 2003 team was probably the best hitting team since the 1927 Yankees, the 2004 team won the series, and last year they won something like 95 games and made the playoffs. Yet again this season we have the best back to back duo in any lineup, possibly since Ruth's day. The Sox of this era will probably be named along with some of the great teams and eras (probably much like the Brooklyn dodgers of the 40's and 50's).
  12. None of this makes any sense. Is there any theoretical way that the above could possibly be true? How do the sox turn around and trade Jones for Oswalt except for after the season? If its after the season then I get it.
  13. 'atta boy!
  14. Sorry, Manny actually has a higher OBP and SLG than Papi does. Papi gets the numbers because nobody wants to pitch to Manny.
  15. No its not. Its a no brainer if Loretta bunts the guys to second and third. In that case, with guys on 2nd and 3rd you set up a force play by walking him, keep the double play intact, etc., Loading the bases AND moving the runners up a base means that Manny simply needs a single to tie the game. Odds are that Manny will get a hit more often than Papi will get a homerun, ergo, pitch to Papi. Over, and over and over again. That's why everyone keeps talking about Manny as being the glue that holds the Sox lineup together. The guy has a 1.000+ OPS and a .430 OBP. They will avoid Manny till the cows come home.
  16. NO QUESTION who the MVP should be.
  17. Who is batting after Loretta tonight? :harhar:
  18. Turns around, as if I DIDN'T just buy you a beer... embarassed that I even tried :dunno:
  19. I must say, your melodramatics are REALLY dramatic (and not so melo)
  20. Will you fellas in row 34 just hush up and watch the game already? Here, let me buy you one... "pssssssstcrrrrrrrrrrack" "One for each of them buddy!'
  21. That was vladdiesque perhaps Mopey will bring his swing to this team's often lifeless offense.
  22. Welcome-Mo Pena Another essentially new acquisition for us to enjoy, especially with Trot down.
  23. Did someone here (or on another thread) mention that there was an "incident" with Sanchez and that therefore acquiring Linebrink was necessary for the Mets? I assume this person means Douanier Sanciez? What happened? Sorry if its of topic.
