  1. that was a really good game. I could feel that ending coming as soon as Tavarez was warming up. That's a spot I want VanBuren or Hansen or Edgar Martinez in. Someone who just throws gas and strikes.
  2. I know, a lot of good he's doing us there.
  3. Where the hell is Manny Delcarmen? Van Buren? Hansen?
  4. that was a tremendous play. Youk messed one up like that last week and made a bad call. I'm glad he's smart enough to try it again. What a play. Hopefully a gamesaver. Papelbon vs. Mauer... does it get any better?
  5. How about some D BOYS!!! Nice play Trot/Gonz
  6. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Atta boy tek!
  7. C'mon Schill... Hell yeah, sit down Tori!
  8. As long as this game is 0-0 I'm okay with the way it is.
  9. Santana's changeup is amazing. I don't watch this guy pitch enough. He can throw that change at like 84 or 83, or 79, or 76... matched with a 95 heater and a slider that is as good as anyone's... jeez.
  10. I think they need to break his rythem a little bit; step out of the box, tie your shoe, whatever. He has thrown 50 or so pitches over 4 innings in less than an hour. Break this s*** up!
  11. 1-2-3 go the sox. 2 consecutive non-K's to end the inning!
  12. This is Pedro-esque right now. Santana looks unhittable.
  13. Another great inning for schill. C'mon Papi!
  14. I agree. It seems like we need Wade Boggs or Tony Gwynn to make contact this evening. We'll have to wait him out and hope Schill pitches well.
  15. I could watch Schilling vs. Santana any day of the week. baseball is good in and of itself (baseball qua baseball), but this game is as good as they get. Random Tuesday night Schill Santana game. Thank you god!
  16. That's the problem with fantasy. I know you will keep your priorities straight jsinger. Actually, you're right, sometimes fantasy takes something painful and makes it at least tolerable. That's the way I like to look at it too.
  17. f***ing filthy stuff. 7 K's in 3.2 IP. Yikes The good thing is that the sox will continue to push him. They can strike out 19 times but if they win that's all that matters to me, and hopefully to them.
  18. Apparently not. Good bye Julian. Hello Rudy.
  19. mehh. It was a tough AB. Now, can Tavarez make his money?
  20. Is Hansen still enjoying his coffee with the big club? If so he should come in for 2-3 innings and at least get some work in.
  21. Zito is a good pitcher, not a great pitcher. And it's true, if he's your three strter then you've got a good staff. However, if you drastically overestimate what your #1 pitcher is capable of then it LOOKS better than it actually is. If the sox had a rotation of Pauley, Beckett and Schilling I could say Schilling as a #3 is tremendous. But RJ isn't doing anything and barely deserves to be called a #1. Zito would be a #2 for the Yankees, in practice this year, in theory and in practice next year as I'm guessing RJ will retire after this season.
  22. Can anyone tell me why Beckett hasn't developed a splitter?? It seems like a pitch with that kind of action would complement his pitches very very well. Look at what it has done for Papelbon and Schilling. If Beckett isn't learning the splitter now when he has access to Schilling, then I blame the Sox pitching coaches, unless Beckett has tried it in the past and it hurt his arm or something.
  23. Patience, patience. Texas has a good offense.
  24. Let's give Paps the W.
  25. Great job offense. Fundamentally sound. There are no two guys I like seeing hit back to back more than Lowell and Youkilis. Those guys both get good at bats and hit the ball hard consistently.
