  1. Yeah, they're very impressed with him. So am I.
  2. I don't know which direction I would rather go in. I think Zito has better stuff. I've never been all that impressed with Mulder, to be honest. Perhaps I'm missing something... I don't really see either guy having a future with the Red Sox in either case.
  3. He's getting that ball up and in very well. Missing in if he's missing at all.
  4. Yeah, that sucks. I hate it when I'm expecting my daily sox-fix and then something keeps it from happening.
  5. HELL YEAH TEK!!! 3R, 2 OUT DOUBLE!
  6. I just think major league hitting must be so hard, and I can't imagine the foresight and hand-eye coordination needed to adjust to a slider, changeup, 4-seamer or 2-seamer, while also adjusting for the 1-2 mph added or subtracted by the smoothness of the pitcher's release. I'd love to be able to pick his head about hitting for awhile.
  7. I can't help but wonder what is going on in Manny's head.
  8. I spent a lot of time today thinking about the retooling process, especially after the pitiful showing against the Twins. You know what though? This is a pretty good team overall. They are in a rough patch right now, but there were times earlier in the season where I thought this team had much more potential than even the 04 team did. They can win close games, they can create runs MUCH better than in the past (though their performance with RISP doesn't necessarily back that at this point) AND they have a bad bullpen just like those teams did, but their defense is considerably better. I'm optimistic and I hope others are too. Sorry for the innane baseball banter, rip one Papi!
  9. Jesus, what an inning.
  10. While that is entirely true, it does not mean the race is not feeble. What the Sox should have is a player who combines fielding and hitting like when Garciaparra was hitting .330 with 30 HR and 110 RBI while playing good D. It's a lot to ask, I know, but it would be ideal. Instead we have a battle of slick fielding poor hitting SS.
  11. It is still a feeble and close race I guess.
  12. Lester kind of loks like Chipper Jones up there... physically at least
  13. cora almost just claimed a starting spot
  14. okay, now we can talk about the game instead rbi lowell
  15. You mean not-late-inning-or-down-by-7-runs life? Yeah, I noticed that. What? 2 consecutive hits? Wow, I forgot they can do that. Let's get a good start from Lester and put some runs up early.
  16. You guys don't have mlb.com televised games?
  17. Meanwhile Liriano gives up a 2-run shot, just as I write that! Geez.
  18. Nice inning Lester. Very nice inning. I have a feeling Lester is going to step it up sometime soon. Perhaps not tonight, but I don't think he has displayed on the big level what the Sox see in him. He wasn't very impressive in Spring Training or his last start. Those two k's last inning looked very impressive. Meanwhile, MY extra-innings is working and I'm watching another very impressive lefty in Liriano. I hope Lester could be that good.
  19. He looks pretty good through 2 outs so far. Papi got totally screwed on that strike call, and so far Lester has been squeezed tightly on two nice curveballs.
  20. Welcome to the Sox bullpen lopez. You fit right in!
  21. I assume you would be for the legalization of heroin then, right? It's cool if you are, but you should see where you're going with this. Greed and steroids are two totally different issues. What is not fair is that it becomes a test of who is willing to pump the most roids into their body. So a person who actually wants to lead a clean life and keep their testicals intact isn't able to compete. If you're going to level the playing field you have to level it away from illegal drugs and toward humans without any performance enhancement. there is no choice there. Atheletes should be greedy. I have no problem with that. There is plenty of money for all of them. You can be greedy as hell and choose not to use steroids. Donald trump isn't on steroids.. as far as I know
