The sox really need a badass 5 hitter. Hopefully next year they'll get one. He doesn't have to be Manny or Ortiz, but a guy with 25 HR power would be nice. I suppose Nixon fills that role decently, but he'll be moving on. Ideally, I want Wily Mo batting 6th cause he K's so often.

Yeah, if Boomer keeps pitching this well and losing he'll give up. What a gamer this guy is. He has no particular attachment to Boston. The Sox fans have no particular attachment to him; yet, he goes out and competes like a Sox vet. Impressive character Boomer is.

Yet this guy is the reigning AL MVP? Every red sox fan knew that he was a choker LAST YEAR yet all the yankees idiots argued that his defensive value made him CLEARLY the most valuable player. what a joke. (that being said, he's a good player, just not as good as he has been painted to be)

I would like to see a lot more than that. It is amazing that, with all the rabid sox fans out there, nobody broadcasts/makes available film of these guys. I would happily pay 20 bucks at the beginning of the season to see more prospects. At least highlights. Cash cow? I think so.

Doesn't Bowden throw pretty hard as well? Papelbon/Lester hard vs. Beckett/Bard hard? In either case, from everything I've heard Bowden has tremendous complimentary stuff as well, and Bard is a chucker so far. Let's hope they all develop into hall of famers and the sox have a Beckett, Papelbon, Lester, Bowden, Bard rotation in a few years.

Finally they got him signed. I got a little worried about that one. Personally, with what I've heard/read about this guy I see him as the type of guy who is tradeable in future years. That is opposed to a guy like Bowden who I would be very disappointed to see go. Just my opinion.

I would say the vlad at bat is the entire game. He gets on and its trouble, if he goes it will be double. wait, if he's out it would be GOOD, yes, good. Not double.

Yes, goes without saying. I would add Schilling to the list, Beckett (although his performance has been lackluster at best) and probably Youkilis. Other than that.. yawn... I can't think of anyone.

The sox seem to have about 4-5 guys on this team who look like/act like they want to win on a consistent basis. Papelbon has, from game 1 this year, been the chief of those guys.

Papelbon is unbelievable. He just doesn't throw bad pitches at all.

I am the most convincing person alive! Actually, we were driving through Kansas City and there were 4 chain restaurants in a row. 3 were closing, and one was open and we both wanted a snack and a beer(s). I hurried back to watch Pedroia play though (and, I guess by extension, the rest of the sox--though they're not worth much right now).

I guess that's some luck too. I think I was busy trying to give myself a blowjob out of boredom with this team. (actually, I'm traveling across country and my wife and I were at Hooters until the end of the game!)(btw, hooters sucks).

It smells like... yes, yes I believe it is... it's that 'L' word that ends in "uck". I haven't seen or smelled that in a long, long time.
