I think that he could be the reincarnation of Hee Sop Choi. I understand the trade: they gave up nothing to get a guy who gave them 3 doubles. It is meaningless both ways, but I doubt they PLANNED for him to suck. They HOPED he wouldn't.

Do you ever wonder how many people associate you with the picture of Luca Brasi (spelling?) you have on your avitar?. I always imagine that that's what you look like and I doubt I'm the only one. Perhaps you should try Brando instead, everyone would defer to your opinions.

Odyssey is definitely the right word. I feel like f***ing Ulysses sailing around the big whirlpool and those singing chicks who becken me into the game, night after night. "Pay attention... you love the sox! Pay attention... you love the sox" I hadn't noticed until recently that one of those singing ladies was fat too. Its over.

I think you're the one who missed the memo that said this was supposed to be a retooling year. According to "feeding the monster" the entire FO knew that, if this team was going to succeed, they would need some overproduction, a lack of injuries, and some luck. They have lost on all 3 counts, but they were willing to take that chance to retain the players they have for the future. We've discussed this before and the merits of waiting for the future when you have Ortiz and Manny is a seperate discussion. However, it is misleading to state that theo drove this team into the ground when, in fact, I would be that he would say things are going about as the FO (and all of basebball for that matter) would have bet at the beginning of the season. Most "pundits" thought this team would finish behind toronto (which could still happen at this rate).

BTW, I'm totally ready to create a man law about discussing the nuances of grammer on sports boards. (if we can pass the acceptibility of posting on sports boards in the first place.)

This team is like my kitchen currently: there are plenty of different ingredients, but none of them make anything useful. flour? check sugar? check Chocolate chips? nope Cereal? check Milk? nope Frozen juice? yup Adequate container to make it in? nope pancake mix? yup eggs? nope Syrup? nope They are a hodgepodge team that WOULD have been adequate to (perhaps) make the playoffs if Trot, Wake, Gonzo, Tek and CLement had been healthy this whole time. Without them they are chocolate chip pancakes without eggs, syrup or a pan to cook them in. (sorry for the poor analogy, its late).

He threw 98 during the 5 saves that he blew too. He's a good closer, I don't doubt it. But with guys like Lopez swinging at pitches by his head he's going to get more saves.
