  1. The AL Central is embarrassing. The A's, Mariners, Angels, Rays, Phillies, Nationals, Brewers, Cardinals, Pirates, Rockies, Dodgers, and Giants are all behind in their divisions, and they would all be leading that division if they replaced the Guardians. The Guardians are the only team over .500, and they're only 19 games over in mid-August, which isn't even that great. There's a very good chance that three of the five teams in the AL Central won't win 70 games. The NL West is almost as unimpressive, four of the five teams are separated by six games, and the top three are separated by only two games. The D-Backs are leading at 12 games over .500. Has there been another season in recent memory with this many mediocre teams? There are 30 teams in baseball and NINETEEN of them are 10 games or less over .500.
  2. 32 wins in the last 40 games. I’ll take that.
  3. Another fantastic start by Porcello. This team is awesome.
  4. You'd think Boone would know the difference between a great home run for his team and a bad one against his team. After all, he owes his job to one home run he hit 15 years ago.
  5. I don’t pity them too much, 3 games over .500 in August isn’t exactly something to crow about. Reminds me of when the Padres won the west at 82-80. I think that was 2005. I’d be embarrassed as a fan if my team was that mediocre and made the postseason just because everyone in my division was a little more terrible than me
  6. I meant, what was the story?
  7. What story is that? I don’t know much about OB on TV, but I loved him on the radio with Castiglione, and I really miss him. The guys who call games with Joe now are boring as hell. OB and Joe together were a fun team. I guess TV and radio announcement take completely different skill sets. OBs attention to detail is great for radio but I can see how it might not translate to TV. More space to fill up with chatter when you don’t have to narrate every tiny bit of every at bat could definitely hamstring a guy like OB.
  8. This is why they need to change the rules about lineups and substitutions and position changes. They need to be allowed to just bat JD and Betts over and over again, putting in pinch runners as needed. But MLB has politely asked me to stop emailing them.
  9. Benintendi has 8 more RBI than Betts does. If Betts wasn't batting leadoff he'd have about 200 RBI right now.
  10. Had 'em all the way. Great game, I watched it all at work because we had basically no business all night. No customers to disturb by shouting at the TV. And as icing on the cake, there are two TVs above the bar so I got to watch the Sox score 19 and win and the Yankees lose all at the same time.
  11. I’ll take it. Good base running by Benintendi.
  12. I looked up Dan Butler because I’d never heard of him. Apparently he played some games in 2014. I have no memory of that whatsoever. I wonder if that’s because I just blocked out the entire season
  13. The only thing I can say about Mookie's cycle is that I'm surprised it took this long to happen.
  14. It's already been said, but I'd like to state for the official record that if anyone other than Thunder tries to start the first postseason GT, I am going to change their username, avatar, and signature to a bunch of My Little Pony and Spongebob garbage. For an entire year.
  15. Oh geez just close it out already, I have a new book to read.
  16. Mitch Moreland finds your lack of faith disturbing.
  17. Seriously cancer can eat a bag of dicks.
  18. I stopped reading after "Lynnsanity". Leave puns to the professionals, you miserable unfunny bastards.
  19. 2 out of 4 is literally half.
  20. Or as it is also known, the "A-Rod drum solo".
  21. f***ING YES SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP! Hell. f***ing. Yes. Red Sox are unstoppable. Thunder mojo is unstoppable. f*** the Yankees!
  22. Nunez-Holt-Leon. I could be wrong, but I think we might have to wait till the 11th for the walk-off.
  23. Yankees boards completely melting down, this is incredible.
  24. The Sox are so good that Baltimore is 44.5 games back. The Royals have a nearly identical record and they’re only 26.5 games out of first. That’s how much better the Sox are than anyone else.
  25. Thunder has grown up into a pretty funny dude.
