  1. That could have been much more disastrous than it was. It should have been a double play but it was also inches away from being first and third with no outs
  2. Shane Livensparger is my new favorite name
  3. All he needs is the mustache. To this day I automatically picture Lou Brown from Major League whenever anyone says "MLB Manager". Jim Leyland is a good meter stick to go by too.
  4. By the way, you should all check out the video of the Blue Jays walk off walk. Showalter’s body language and face are guaranteed to make your day almost as much as JDs homer just did
  5. He'll almost certainly need to have both legs amputated.
  6. It just wouldn't be a post from you about how unlikely it is for a Red Sox prospect to succeed if it didn't include a reminder of how awesome a Yankees prospect is!
  7. I've read Boston sports media. It's actually not a bad plan!
  8. If the Sox can pick up even a serviceable 4 or 5 guy before Pomeranz gets off of the phantom DL list, I can see them flipping him to someone more willing to take a chance. Someone without a serious postseason contention chance to defend.
  9. I'm so glad we all moved on and went back to discussing the thread topic. So let me ask: Who thinks Pomeranz actually pitches another game in a Red Sox uniform?
  10. Well, if his MLB career doesn't work out, Blaine Hardy has a bright future as an annoying pop star with an even more annoying Twitter page. At least based on his name.
  11. Let's drop this issue now, seriously.
  12. No problem, you unmitigated jackass!
  13. I'm starting to get really annoyed with you harassing jacko for being a troll every time he posts something. If it bothers you so much that he posts a thread when someone is DLed, then start it yourself before he gets the chance. These are perfectly legitimate threads and if someone else started a thread called "Pedroia DLed" or "Pomeranz DLed", no one would be saying anything. Jacko has been a member of this site almost since it was created, and while he may be a Yankees fan, a douche, and a monumental tool (I know, all three of those mean the same thing), he's not a troll. He may be unbelievably biased sometimes, but he always contributes to the discussions he takes part in and he's not dumb. (Literally his only redeeming quality). So let it go.
  14. What a f***ing punk Stanton was today. I understand the guy hit you in the face a couple years ago, but he didn't do that intentionally. And you're gonna start yelling and bitching because he glanced a pitch off your elbow four seasons later? Did Stanton really think Fiers was intentionally trying to load the bases in the third inning of a 1-1 game?
  15. Brock Holt is a cool guy.
  16. Whoa what? Didn't the guys see him napping in a really nice car on the side of the road and only find out he was Jordan's dad after they had already killed him? EDIT: I just googled this for a few minutes and I can't find a single non-conspiracy theory, non-sketchy looking site proposing the theory that Jordan had any link to his father's murder. I did find articles on a bunch of E-newspapers with questionable journalistic integrity and a few conspiracy videos on YouTube.
  17. I love Pedroia as much as the next Sox fan, but the last few weeks have convinced me that it is more likely than not this will be his last season. If the surgery doesn't work, we may have already seen his final game. I hate to say that out loud, but I have to be realistic. It doesn't seem very likely that Pedroia will ever be in a position to contribute to the Sox on the field again.
  18. Also, Johnny Cash is the greatest. My dad likes to say that Cash is the one universally enjoyable musician in all of history. He says "if you play Johnny Cash within earshot of a teenage punk with a mohawk and an eighty-year old grandmother, both of them will be happy".
  19. No, I listen to the games on the radio so I never see bizarre things in the crowds unless they make the highlights on MLB.com
  20. Can someone explain this Kimbrel impersonator to me?
  21. I certainly do, my dogs are awesome and most people are terrible. For every awesome dog, there are ten more awesome dogs. For every awesome person, there are about fifty thousand *******s.
  22. Vazquez? Really? Okay. Cool, I guess.
  23. I don't know a lot or care at all about basketball, but it's inescapable this time of year, especially on ESPN radio and ESPN TV, which is on the bar TV at my job 24/7. So I thought this might be incorrect, and I googled and found I was correct. The Cavaliers won in 2016, so this would only be the second consecutive year that Lebron lost, no? I'm okay with that, from what I know (admittedly only from ESPN TV/radio), he seems like a very unlikable guy.
  24. Can I vote for Betts at half the positions and JD for the other half?
  25. I think it's time for Pomeranz to go live upstate with a nice family on a farm where he has lots of room to run around and play with the other pitchers.
