  1. That's just a joke right??
  2. So subtract one Red Sox from the starting lineup at Yankee Stadium. I wonder how the Sox fare without his bat in the lineup. Their offense is so good that it probably won't hurt it too too much, but he is the big, beating heart of that lineup.
  3. WHo said he was? I'm not talking about an All-Star caliber first baseman, I'm simply saying he's a slick fielding, versatile guy off the bench who we could use.
  4. If a deal is made with the Pirates, I would love for Cash to explore the possibility of including Betemit in the deal for Mientkiewicz. Pittsburgh had interest in Betemit in the spring, although I dont know where that stands now, and we could use a slick-fielder on our bench. Not only that, Mientkiewicz has played a lot of third base this year in Pittsburgh, which he hasn't done previously. So with history at first, obviously, limited experience at second and in the outfield, and his role at third this year with the Pirates, he provides probably just as much versatility as Betemit. Plus, he did want to come back to the Yankees in the offseason. Just pure speculation on my part, but that would be pretty awesome if we could pull off a deal for Marte AND Mientkiewicz.
  5. OKKK!!! She's coming to YES, watch!
  6. Did you even rad it? I find it ironic how you make an effort to quote the whole thing "before I can edit," but you conveniently decide to quote a small defaming line from a sentence. Why not quote the whole sentence or statement. While to YOU GUYS it may seem I lack credibility because of my name, I was trying to establish an understanding of my character and how I am towards Sox fans personally. Way to completely disregard that altogether.
  7. I love how everything is BS to you. Say what you want, but he's right, you guys have dished it worse the past few years than we did during our championships. Yes, I'm sure there are some who were tormenting Red Sox fans, and as a collective fan-base we would get on the Red Sox; but typically only when we were playing them. Our being didn't revolve around hostility towards the Red Sox. If what you guys do is limited to when we play you that's one thing, but it's 24/7, 365 with you guys. Say what you want, call it BS, whatever...but YES analysts don't take jabs at the Red Sox while running their highlights, our newspaper reporters don't take daily shots at the Red Sox, and our front office isn't consumed with the Red Sox (Hank maybe, but he just doesnt know any better ). I know considering my username I probably lack some credibility on this topic, but that was for fun, a way to show my colors. Was it the best choice, probably not; but in all honesty, I have never tormented an individual Red Sox fan at the Stadium, called them names, started fights, thrown beer, etc. Sure, I've participated in collective 1918 and Boston Sucks chants over the years, but that's about it. There was one other occasion where a group of drunk Sox fans were walking down Rupert Place next to the parking garage at Yankee Stadium and they were talking s*** because I think the Sox hd just beaten the Yanks, and they said something to me specifically so I lashed back and told them to go "Jerk each other off all the way back to Bahhhhston", but thats about it. My username, and the things I say on this website in response to Red Sox taunting are not a true representation of me as a person, or of the Yankee fan base as a whole. I know you guys like to jump on me because of my username and the things I say in defense when I take exception to something said, but you need to start realizing that Sox fans are now so cocky and full of themselves they've become worse than I, or any Yankee fan I personally know has ever been. I can certainly understand it, with all of that tension being built up and having to endure it for so long, but IMO some Sox fans just take it to another extreme sometimes. I don't need to get screamed at and have beer and trash thrown at me on Yawkey Way by some pussy ass abercrombie wearing "fans" before the game even started. Nothing gets me more though than hearing Red Sox fans tell me how much the Yankees suck, and have this entire decade. Considering we've been in as many World Series, and made the playoffs and won more divisions than you guys in the past 8 years I can't help but chuckle. It doesn't suck at all. It's the greatest thing in the world. It may have sucked for you guys for so many years being fans of the Red Sox, but no matter what the situation, it never sucks being a fan of the New York Yankees.
  8. Are you serious bro? Put your drink down; oir are you smoking crack? Why would we give upon Hughes for Marte? Not that I dontlike the idea of having Marte, which is something I've pulled for for quite a while. but that would be giving up wayyy too much. Either Fuentes or Marte would suffice for me, and I assure you it won't take that much. I'm dumbfounded by that post.
  9. Despite getting my ass kicked all of last week I still managed to come back and split it with 700. Watch out this week!! haha
  10. Yeah he did start games in ST.
  11. 700 check your email
  12. This is true. Best that we try it now.
  13. 700, offer sent
  14. As much as it pains me to root for a Boston team...Go Celtics!
  15. If Pedro got out of the 8th untouched and the Sox won it in 9 are you guys still complaining that Little left him out there too long? Are you still putting forth this argument about how he shouldn't have been out there due to pitch-counts, ownership wishes, and winning formulas? I'm serious, not trying to be a dick..my point is that like in every other baseball decision gone wrong it's easy to second guess. You might call it a cop-out, but if your ace and arguably the most dominant pitcher in the recent history of baseball wants the ball then I give it to him. In the postseason and big spots you need to not rely so heavily on numbers, because it's not just another game. Winning in those spots takes guts and intestinal fortitude. Randy Johnson wanted the ball in 2001. He threw a complete game in game 2 and took the ball to finish out game 7 after throwing the night before. That's just one of many examples I can throw at you. But when you have a pitcher of that caliber and he wants you to entrust the biggest game of the year to him, you do it.. Plain and simple. I dont care if he threw 200 pitches. Another point is that everyone wants to blame Grady for that loss, but even still, there were plenty of chances for you guys to re-take the lead after Pedro left. The offense just couldn't touch Mo in the 9th, 10th, and 11th. And by the logic you guys are throwing out there for the Pedro decision, Mo shouldn't have even been in there for 3 innings, but he WANTED the ball, and got it done. If Mo blows it there's probably tons of people second-guessing that move, just as you guys are with Pedro. But he didn't; sometimes things work out, and sometimes they don't.
  16. Here's a good read I came across http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2926447
  17. That's awesome I never knew that. Gonna have to try to youtube it or something.. ..I'll try to find a pic of the tats too, they're NUTS. Flaming 8-balls and a bunch of crazyy s***. Goes without saying, dude was GEEEKED up!!
  18. This is really as non-issue, just something I thought was interesting and figured I would comment on. I was watching Joe Torre's media conference that he held in the visiting dugout at Shea earlier and he commented how one of the things he likes about being on the west coat is that he's able to watch the 7pm East Coast games in the clubhouse to kill time, and how he was watching when Jeter got hit back on the 21st, and out of concern called the Yankee clubhouse and Jeter happened to be in there after leaving the trainer's room and they had a brief conversation and Jeter let him know he was alright and everything. The relationship that those two have is remarkable. Joe Torre will always be a Yankee...
  19. This is honestly the first I ever heard of that. Wow....
  20. Cincinnati purchased the contract of Andy Phillips from Louisville yesterday, and gave him number 46. I hope for the best for Andy out there. He was in our system a longgg time and did nicely when he finally got his shot.
  21. I still can't blame him for leaving the amazing Pedro Martinez in the game. In hindsight it's easy to second guess, but when your best pitcher tells you he wants the ball in that spot, especially a guy like Pedro, you give it to him end of story. It didn't work out, and Grady has been crucified since. A little unfairly I think.. I don't even remember if that one was one of the choices...let me go back and look. But absolutely, that should be in there.
