  1. Yeah I see your point. But I think daddy has Hank in check. Despite what Hank said, nobody budged on Joba. And Hank later went on to make nice with hi comments. Also, Kennedy was a Girardi/Ca$h move. But I can certainly see how things seem to be in imbo right now in Yankee-land.
  2. I dont think so. Not compared to how it wa pre-'05 when the Tampa faction would always conflict with what the NY faction wanted to do. I think it's pretty much ettled down. I think Hank is letting Ca$h take care of most of the decision-making. Sure, he probably has some input but I think it's on Cashman. The Yankees say 2000/2001-2005 were a nightmare. Tug of war wouldn't begin to describe it.
  3. I think it's too soon. Defeats the purpose of sending him down there. Where's Boomer at? hahah Not that he would be any better, but I really think IPK should stay in SWB for a little bit. What about Giese or White or something. I hope it works out, but I think it's a mistake. I guess we'll know soon enough.
  4. 2001 was one of the best World Series ever. It was close, so I wouldn't throw it in that category. The Angel did flat out beat us, the Marlins did flat out beat us..but only after we beat you f*** 2004, the Angels did beat us, the Tigers did beat us, and the Knats did beat us. So what's your point? At least we've been in the playoff all of the past 13 seasons (Would be 14 if not for the strike).
  5. Also, Sean Henn was claimed off of waivers by the Padres. He'll be joining the team today. Best of luck to him. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=MLB&previousdate=5/9/2008&id=669
  6. 2003. 2005 against the White Sox..well I guess that wasn't much of a choke..they just flat out beat you. Remember that ball through Graffanino's legs? I do lol Dude, that was the story of your team for damn near a century.
  7. No way to disagree with how he's pitched as of late. But he's had time off, has a rubber arm, big game experience, is left-handed, and would come cheap. I think it's worth a shot. I wouldn't pin any hopes on him or anything; I wouldn't even rely on him to be a solid starter, but he's better than the lefty we have in the pen now, and in those blowout games can give you those innings, plu a spot-start here or there. If he doesn't perform, Designate his ass for assignment. But I think it's something worth looking into. The situation in Yankeeland might just be enough to influence his performance and give him one last go-round in pinstripes to finish his career out. At this point, honestly, what do we have to lose? If he's terrible in his firt outing, he' gone the next day. No biggie. We'll see what happens though.
  8. Guess so. Early morning, late night. I'm out of it...peace, back to bed.
  9. I think that statement would apply more-so to you guys than it would us. But anyway... "just give me the ball and let me do my thing. I'm not afraid to fail." -David Wells http://www.nypost.com/seven/05092008/sports/yankees/boomer_ang__110042.htm?page=2 Appearantly an idea that I've had in the back of my mind all season to help address our bullpen problems with a left handed, rubber arm may be coming to fruition. Except they would bring him on as a starter at first due to the struggling rotation. But I think that the low-risk, high-reward scenario of bringing David Wells back to the Bronx for a third time is something worth looking into. Joe Torre is no longer here, and that's where most of Boomer's problems within the Yankee organization lie. Read the article and Hank's quotes and you'll see he is riding the wood like Tarzan; swingin' from that branch. I say go for it.. Plus Boomer loves the Yankee and what it means to wear that uniform, would give another added spark of enthusiasm to that clubhouse, and is close friends with Girardi. Bruney's gone for the year so slap that number 33 jersey right onto Boomer's back and lets see what happens. If this did indeed happen, I would forget about his little stint in Beantown probably immediately
  10. Jesus Christ dude, you're so f***ing pompous and full of yourself, get off your high-horse, if it amuses you that much then go laugh into a pillow up on your throne in some room by yourself. I like to think of my username as a title-ticker. You guys get pleasure out of seeing it remain 26-6, whether it's because you're stuck in the past, you like laughing at it, whatever...but this conversation has occurred enough times for me to decide to change it.
  11. why not? the same reason you guys all run your mouths about the Yankees and how much they suck a month into the season
  12. I offeredto have it changed. Your fellow Sox fans voted that I keep it as is. Take it up with them.
  13. This is 2008, why dwell on the past? And in 7 of the past years you guys couldn't overtake us in the standings. And in each of the past 8 years we've been to the playoffs. Not so with you guys. And we've appeared in more World Series the past 8 years. And 8 is such a square number, lets round it to 10 (2-2) or 15 (4-2). Like I said, this isn't last year, or the year before, or 2003 or 1998. We've got a longgg season ahead of us. And hey, we can only go up from here given our level of talent.
  14. Damn ORS, you barely beat me to Aybar. I was looking at him earlier, looked at some of the numbers to decide who I was going to reluctantly drop to pick him up, I go take a shower, come back and you've got him. lol oh well.
  15. Getting Damon. Idk, maybe it pays off, but those are 2 good arms u let go.
  16. I propose that if somebody isn't active for over a month we throw all of their players on waivers! Who's with me??? lol
  17. Still a lot of baseball left. Despite hi average Melky has really carried a load offensively. Injuries arent gonna be forever so the power bats will return, and Cano is bound to heat up. Count us out...go ahead. But we'll see who's laughing in October.
  18. Gom, why would you make that move?
  19. Oh s***...that reminds me. I completely forgot about the $25 I was supposed to send to ORS. s***, ORS hit me up with your information again so I can get that out to you. Whoops.
  20. That be the case with a few managers. That was one of the requirements when signing up. s***, if I can stay active then so can anyone else. It just ruins it for everyone else.
  21. Come one man, give him his fair due. Aaron Small was brought into camp as a non-roster invite, got off to a rough start in the minors, strongly considered retirement, turned it around with Columbus, cam up and was spectacular. It's not fair to say Ca$h hadnothing to do with that, he's the one who brought him into camp, monitored his progress in AAA, and made the decision to bring him up. How about some credit for a good move. Same with Chacon, there was a lot of speculation as to how he would pitch, and he came over from Colorado and pitched damn-well. That was a good move Cashman made. If he's gonna get ripped for bringing in Kevin Brown, Randy Johnson, and Jeff Weaver, give him some props for these low-cost successes he's pulled off.
  22. Basically. Every year as of late when the Yankees struggle in April ignorant f***ing people come to me say how much the Yankee suck, or how this isn't their year, or whatever the case may be. My response to them is always an irritated "It's April (In this case May 7th)! Lot of baseball left to be played." It's ridiculous. Come August as we're headed down the stretch-run mot people don't even remember what played out the first Month and a half of the season. Just relax everyone...the season is young.
  23. Kevin Brown for Jeff Weaver was a good trade. It worke out well the first year, but then it went downhill. But you can't blame him for making that trade, Weaver had to go. You can't blame him for getting Weaver with what he was projected to be coming up with Detroit. Randy Johnson was a George-inspired thing. They needed him at the deadline in 2004, couldnt get him, so they had no choice in the offseason what with al themedia hype and daily developments heading up to the deadline. It didnt work out well, which probably was proected by some, but if you have a hance to get Randy Johnson you do it. I do think it's unfortunate that they gave up on Vaz so quickly. He should have had more than 1 season in pinstripe. That was the cost though. I agree with you on Contreras for Loaiza. Signing Contreras wasn't a bad move, he just couldn't stomach it initially and they gave up on him. Even the Red Sox went hard after him. Kyle Farnsworth was going into the season a great pickup, an upgrade over Tom Gordon who was great as the setup guy here. Unfortunately some guys can't adjust to New York well, it happens. But it wasn't a bad decision. And now he's even started to be pretty good. Are you kidding me with Pedro? I wasn't opposed to the signing of him, and there was even that rumor at one point that he and the Yanks were close on a 4 year, $50 Mil deal. But financially it would have hurt, and look just how much time he's been out injured since being with the Mets. Can't blame him for not making that commitment. As for Dice-K, the Yanks made an effort. Unfortunately is wasn't as high as the Mets and Sox, but still, their offer was higher than any previous bid ever made on the NPB posting market. Because of Dice-K the posting prices skyrocketed...for all of the non Free-Agent Japanese players since. He did those NPB owners a favor. But don't get down on the Yanks for that, their offer was competitive. As for lefties....Jesse Orrosco? hahah I do remember Cash pulling hard for Sauerbeck in 203, who AT THE TIME was a good pickup, but there's nothing he could have done about the Sox trading #1 prospect Freddy Sanchez for a middle-inning lefty. I'm with you man and I understand your frustrations. Most of them we'rent bad decisions, granted some were, but most of them just didn't work out as expected. Whaddya gonna do? But hindsight is nice, right? Hopefully Hughes can turn it around and be himself and we can move Kennedy in a good deal.
  24. That's still one too many, like in Nashua. But that night there were 16 people injured, 8 arrested, people were setting fires in the streets, throwing trash cans at store-front window, and going absolutely crazy. I guess after 86 years of being losers something like that was expected. But then fast forward to last year after you guys beat Cleveland, there were 26 arrests outside of Fenway. You would think that number would decrease. Some Boston fans are just animals.. (as are some Yankee fans; like the moron skeeze-ball who runs over people for chanting "Yankees Suck") http://www.boston.com/news/globe/city_region/breaking_news/2007/10/26_arrested_aft.html http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2004/10/22/postgame_police_projectile_kills_an_emerson_student/
