  1. When did he ever say Ponson's actions were ok. He said that he was fine when he was here, and that his recent issues stemmed down there. If he pulled s*** like that with the Yankees you think he would wake up the next morning with a job? We're not the Red Sox we don't tolerate that s***. It's absurd that Manny hasn't been disciplined at all. If that was Julio Lugo who threw McCormick to the ground he would have been released, or at the very least suspended. This sends a horrible message from the Red Sox. How come great players are above rules and discipline? Some of you ought to be ashamed for defending this in any way, shape, or form. Manny was wrong, plain and simple. But he doesn't have to face any consequences, which is also wrong.
  2. Here's a link, from The Times and Democrat in Orangeburg, SC; his hometown newspaper. http://www.thetandd.com/articles/2008/06/29/sports/doc486838a519540498394678.txt
  3. Brett Gardner has gotten the call and will be in uniform tonight against the Rangers. No link just yet, sorry.
  4. yeszir, proposal sent
  5. So this is obviously a flawed poll. I didn't find it exciting or anything, I just thought it would be a funny thread. I saw the article and started laughing. Given the reputation of Fenway Franks (it's been about 7 years since I've had one) I wanted to see the Red Sox Nation reaction. lol
  6. Yankee Stadium!!! ...and Wrigley Field, as they tied for first in a poll released by the National Hot Dog & Sausage Council. No Fenway Franks, Not Dodger Dogs, but good old Nathan's Famous at the big ballpark in the Bronx After the Yankees and Cubs, the Red Sox came in second, followed by Detroit's Comerica, and then the Dodge Dogs in 4th. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/yankees/2008/06/28/2008-06-28_frankly_speaking_yankee_stadium_hot_dogs.html
  7. yankshater, I've had an offer out to you. Let me know.
  8. Oneli Perez, the 6 fingered wonder has just been DFA'd to make room for David Robertson.
  9. Damn. And I'm paying $1200 lol
  10. Morgan Ensberg latched on with Cleveland after he was released by the Yanks. He'll be sent to AAA Buffalo, along with fellow recent signees Juan Rincon and Tony Graffanino. http://www.wkyc.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=91691 http://cleveland.Guardians.mlb.com/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20080624&content_id=2993358&vkey=pr_cle&fext=.jsp&c_id=cle
  11. So why arent you looking to move him in fantasy? If you need taker let me know what you would want. Are the Yankees talking about trading him to Washington or something? Otherwise he would have no reason to be in Columbus other than as a visiting player. The 28 year affiliation between the Yankees and Clippers ended prior to last season. Triple A baseball for the Yankees is now played in a town called Scranton, Pennsylvania. Get with the program buddy
  12. If only they were lucky enough to be sitting next to me right up in tier 11 haha
  13. If anyone needs help at 3B, I have Adrian Beltre and Eric Chavez.
  14. How does that even make sense in this case?
  15. Always finding something to bitch about
  16. Also, the Yankees have gotten Chris Basak back from the Twins in a minor league trade for "future considerations." http://emedia.thetimes-tribune.com/Blogs/SWBYankeesBlog/tabid/552/articleType/ArticleView/articleId/3848/Welcome-back-Chris-Basak.aspx
  17. So now Jerry Manuel is a self-proclaimed "gangster" who has said he would "get his blade out and cut" Jose Reyes if he does what he did the other night again. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/mets/2008/06/18/2008-06-18_jerry_manuel_pitches_in_to_help_david_wr.html wow
  18. No disagreements there.
  19. Wow great job with the breaking news bsn07!!!
  20. I didnt contradict myself one bit. I explained that his signing was made for insurance, butmy PERSONAL PREFERENCE is to never see him again at the big league level with the Yankees. And yeah, I probably would take Igawa over him. So what? At least Igawa has the ability and potential for success based on his great career with Hanshin. In all likelihood, the outcome would be the same between Ponson and Igawa, but with Igawa there's still that CHANCE he could do something. He's gotta come around at some point.
  21. Good move picking up Gonzalez, sotk. Might turn out to be a real good move.Good thinking.
  22. How is this an answer to Colon? How moronic considering Colon was signed before SPRING TRAINING. This is an answer to injuries, not to counter a move made by the damned Red Sox. We're not like that here, we're not consumed by this rivalry the way a lot of Sox fans are. This is just to add another experienced arm to the organizational depth chart. Now lets be clear, I never want to see Ponson in pinstripes on that Yankee Stadium mound EVER again (unless they're pinstripes on an opposing team's road uniform, in which case I would be delighted) after we had him in 06. Nooo thank you. But I guess Cash just wantedsome insurance. Hopefully it doesnt come to that though. I'll take Kei Igawa or an out of shape David Wells ANY day over Fat Pig Ponson. Anyone see the news about the agreement that will put a Hard Rock Cafe in the New Yankee Stadium?Sounds pretty cool, should be an awesome place. I love Hard Rock Cafes, and I imagine one with a little Yankee flavor would be pretty awesome. Also a steakhouse, called NYY Steaks. http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/news/press_releases/press_release.jsp?ymd=20080618&content_id=2954740&vkey=pr_nyy&fext=.jsp&c_id=nyy http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/images/2008/06/18/lEw2RsAx.jpg Also, we claimed Oneli Perez off waivers from the Guardians and sent him to Trenton. He's spent time in Triple-A Charlotte (White Sox) and Buffalo (Cleveland) this year, so he's been on the move quite a bit this season. He's got an 8.49 in 21 appearances at both of his stops combined this season. I also read on Southsidesox.com that he has 6 fingers on each hand. Wow http://bp0.blogger.com/_YntY1kyKo4o/RjB_pIiKt4I/AAAAAAAAAv0/_k6ZkRGoy8g/s320/fingers6.jpg I'm not sure if that pic is actually of Oneli's hand or just that of someone else with 6 fingers, but it's the pic that accompanied the post on southsidesox.
  23. Who claimed that what he said was rational? My statement about his drinking problem was on a different note. I just thought that was funny. I'm not using it to rationalize the dumbass things he says.
  24. Good shitfor the Celtics though. They're a great franchise, probably the only Boston/New England team I dont hate. Gotta respect the coarse of that franchise's history; even though they're Boston I always follow them a little bit on the side. Glad they got it done....I hate the f***ing Lakers. Only bad thing about it is now I have to listen to you beanhead Boston fans boast about another championship But again, congrats to this Celtics team. They did an amazing job this year. A championship well deserves. ...nowI just gotta hope my Knicks can possibly f***ing turn things around. Who knows, what out for the Knicks 08-09 baby! haha
