  1. we still love him here...or at least we did until April 3rd, seeing him in that Boston jersey. He came here expecting the same kind of love he got when he was with the Jays, White Sox, and Padres...what he got was something similar to what he got in Cleveland in '97. But after he takes that jersey off, we'll love him again.
  2. Greg Harris Former Yankee and Red Sock. Also a Met, Expo, Red, and Padre. Pitched 1981-1995
  3. i remember recently hearing about a pitcher who threw both lefty and righty, and i meant to look him up, but it slipped my mind i guess. i forget his name as well, the only reason i remember now is because of this thread
  4. yes, Jesse Orosco used to do this all the time in the 80's, hed go out and play right field when a righty was up and pitch when a lefty was up.
  5. sorry guys, thanks
  6. since we're on the topic of former Sox returning, when did the Sox sign El Guapo, i noticed hes pitching in the GCL for the GCL Red Sox. (if there is already a thread on this please alert me, i looked and didnt see one, and didnt feel the need to start a new thread for something this insignificant)
  7. oops...yea guess i hit the wrong button
  8. you'll really love him come playoff time. Just as long as his back doesnt kill him lije it did in 2003 (game 5)
  9. You guys have had him for over half a season so far. Are you satisfied with him so far? Does it bother you that there was a lot of speculation that he would rather be in the Bronx. Anything that you guys like/dislike about him so far.
  10. what I liked about his book is that he made it easy to relate to. He showed you that he was probably more normal than any other player. Like who else eats at a mediocre Manhatten diner in the wee hours of the morning. lol I still wouldnt mind reading another Boomer Book.
  11. Canseco said that Jeter is the best player to not take steroids.
  12. Yes, it was very entertaining, i read it when it first came out and i still find myself going back and reffering to it. I hope he writes another. I heard Johnny's book was pretty bad so when i saw it i didnt bother to buy it (had the price not been so high i probably would have bought it).
  13. this is good, i actually enjoyed his book to be honest with you.
  14. wow, i hope hes still on im going to find the stream right now
  15. you're right. And Crespo, I have to tip my hat to you, it was noble to argue for Giambi considering the fact that you are a Sox fan.
  16. maybe the coming into his own was due to steroids...he was a little smaller in Minnessota. And BTW And the reason that i always argue "if he were a red sox...." is because its true, there is no way you would be on him so much if he were a Red Sock. His brother Jeremy, who is a former Red Sox player, has been juicing since the minors, just because he hasnt delivered results doesnt make him any less of a cheater, but i dont see anyone getting on him. And steroids arent going to assist you in hitting home runs, that can be seen in the cases of Jeremy Giambi Alex Sanchez, and all the other guys who tested positive this year.
  17. the only reason its half-assed to you is because its simple....HE'S NOT USING..period! and no, the tumor and parasite werent coverups, he really did have a tumor and parasite last year which is why he missed most of the year.
  18. the Giambi accusations didnt start until Palmeiro tested positive. But Giambi has tested negative.
  19. As the article in the post stated, and again, if nobody saw it, sarasoxfan posted it. Giambi was tested last week (which according to my calander was during his stellar July. And he is also bloodtested regularly, and blood tests detect Human Growth Hormone, and he is clear on that front. So now can everybody drop this
  20. well did he ever hit three homers in 3 games prior to then
  21. He has already been tested and came up clear, and he will be tested a second time, if he hasnt been already and again, he will test negative. He's not stupid, he doesnt want another PR disaster. He cares too much about people liking him, if he is taking steroids, and is caught doing so, then all the work he did to earn back his fans will be gome. Give the mancredit for performing, dont accuse him of cheating. Steroids dont increase your discipline at the plate, steroids dont help your OBP, Steroids dont help your work ethic, steroids dont do any of that, anybody can take steroids, but just because you're on steroids doesnt mean that automatically you're going to hit a bunch of homers, so there is no evidence, this power surge could just as easily be coming from steroids as it is from hard work. And Hard Work is something he has put in every day since February when position players reported. Give him a break, im sure if he was doin all of this with a Red B on his cap that this wouldnt be as big a deal to you guys.
  22. lol
  23. i dont understad why all of you guys are getting on Giambi. Hes not the culprit today, Palmeiro is. God forbid a person triumphs over adversity and is successful again. He put in countless hours of work, he was extremely dedicated, he never lost touch of the goal, and now you guys are villifying him for achieving success again. I admire Giambi for this, his first 2 years as a Yankee were very productive (regardless of popular belief, lets not forget that he hit over 40 homers in both of hist first 2 seasons with the Yanks), last year was a nightmare, and up until July of this year has been a nightmare. Give the guy a break.
  24. for now i feel its even. Both were good in college, Cox played in a tougher conference, but i still like Hansen better, i have it even because neither have suffiecent Minor League time. But there have been players who were supposed to be great out of college and didnt make it, thats why i said its even for now. Riverside Sluggers:...Good for Youk, but Duncan is going to be better, he is more highly touted around baseball and is a better bat. Youk is good, but while Duncan is playing third, he gets the vote.
  25. Boogie, Vechionacci is playin 3B and OF this year And I still guve CF to the Yanks, Melky is going to be great.
