  1. It just tells you things about Red Sox fans, of the hundreds of Yankee games ive been to not once have I heard a Boston Sucks chant when we werent playing Boston (once I heard a Mets suck chant in the bleachers, btu only because 3 Met fans walked in)
  2. Already have, started last year I believe, they tell you to turn them inside out (unless you're wearing them under a jersey or something), but obviously people just turn them back rightside out when they get in the stadium.
  3. we didnt have to get A-Rod, he wanted to come to a winner so that was the stipulation, we could have done fine with Soriano at short and Cairo/Wilson/Mike Lamb at 3rd....Jeter ios the man here, he shouldnt have to move for anyone
  4. I said the small market teams might NOT be able to pay him like the big market clubs.
  5. Oakland doesnt have the offense, Eric Chavez cant carry the whole team.
  6. hah...Woody Paige is a New Yorker who just isnt from New York...ever since going to the Post from a Denver paper, hes like the NY media spokesman haha
  7. agreed...but the "Manny Moments" shouldnt take place at all.
  8. Well I think that anybody who follows the Yankees closely has to disagree with you, A-Rod is good btu Sheff is more clutch (hitting over .400 with RISP), always seems to come up with a big hit, and when a guy gets on in the first inning, its pretty much 50/50 that sheff is going to knock them in to set the tone for the game...Sheff gets my vote for heart of the offense. But A-Rod is still my MVP...and many other peoples
  9. I wouldnt go as far to say that they're anti-Yankee, most of the SportsCenter hosts are Yankee fans, and while Yes, the yanks get support from the Baseball Tonight crew, so do the Sox. And watch when they have all of the National writers on Sportscenter or ESPNEWS, most are anti-yankee....Rob Neyer definately.
  10. How do you know these guys are *******s, how well do you know them. Kevin Brown, though he is well hated here, seems like a pretty nice guy. RJ is an *******, that was demonstrated when he shoved a camera man. A-Rod isnt an *******, he does more charity work than probably any Red Sox player.
  11. That ******* also happens to be the heart of our offense.
  12. cant say the "J" Word here, ive already had a new ******* torn for that (even though we both know its true ) And it is no different than trying to mow down a catcher, its not specified in the book that u cant bump a player with the intention of making him lose the ball, just as long as you are in the basebath, which I believe he was. And you're right, if it were Manny, it would just be Manny being Manny. The Red Sox drink jack before games, its a cool, accepted thing...how much do you wanna bet that if the Yankees were taking shots before a game that it would practically be a crime.
  13. very entertaining game, I was hoping to see Grant Roberts throw relief for trenton though
  14. How do you know, I think this ball situation is way overrated, the Sox didnt go looking for it or anything and it didnt become an issue until it was made public that Mientkiewicz had the ball. I didnt see John Henry or Lucchino on the field looking for the ball. And even so, I wouldnt be surprised if Millar did the same thing.
  15. Hes not necessarily guaranteed a ticket to the majors, but he will be drafted no doubt. And there is a good chance he makes it to the Majors, but that will all depend on how he makes the transaction. I myself have seen him pitch when he still lived here, his fastball is devistating, his 2-seamer has some pretty nice movement inside, his breaking stuff wasnt GREAT, but it wasnt bad. He is going to be very interesting to folllow over the next few years.
  16. yea I saw them talking about it, it will be part of the 50/50 thing since they are going to be in Williamsport, PA (home of the little league World Series). I wish I could find the website of the team he is playing for now so I could check up on his stats for the year.
  17. its not that he got extra time, it was the appeal process, which in sorts led to extra time.
  18. I would have to agree
  19. he was bitching about having to possibly share time with Mientkiewicz in the offseason (before he got traded to the Mets)
  20. yes, but the small market teams might not be able to pay him like the big market teams.
  21. bro, we're tied for the wild card lead and only 3.5 back in the division, still a lot of baseball to be played, chill out.
  22. It was kind of odd. I was actually thinking about that the other day, and the Tony Clark we saw in the postseason looked very similar to the Tony Clark we saw in Boston in 2002, not the Tony Clark we saw all season long, the guy who could come off the bench and hit a 450 foot home run, or play a steller first base.
  23. I have a pretty comfortable feeling for today
  24. Wow, my experience at Fenway wasnt great in terms of how the Sox fans treated me...but thats another story ....most of the time its not much of a problem, but it does depend on where you sit and what game you go to. Friday night games are usually a little bit wildier than Sat. and Sun. Have fun!
  25. ahhh....the 2002 Boston Red Sox, a pretty interesting team
