  1. Jason Stark, ESPN Doubtful he goes anywhere, though last week there was some VERY MILD discussion on the radio about him coming to the Mets. Wont happen though.
  2. I honestly wouldnt mind getting him, as long as Sanchez is in fact out the rest of the year and we dont get Bellhorn (even though Lugo is better, its always nice to see a former Red Sock in Pinstripes )
  3. thanks a lot man, I really appreciate it.
  4. Just think of every other suspension of any sort in recent years and try and remember how long the appeal period is, if a name recently tested positive the appeal wont be heard probably until September (assuming they want them to serve the suspension this year) ...but the thing I dont get is that the media is always made aware of suspensions of other sorts prior to the appeal, i think this needs to be done with the steroids, if someone tests positive they need to be punished by having their name thrown out there immediately
  5. just telling you what he said...it was during one of those interviews with Pedro Gomez where Barry gets really mad because he hates Pedro Gomez no way Jeter or Mo are on steroids...I would also say no way A-Rod is on steroids but that would start World War III over here with all of you anti-A Rod guys. Bobby, Miguel Tejada and Steve Kline are more likely to test positive for Steroids that Jeter and Mo, lay off the Yankees please, it gets VERY annoying.
  6. well if I win the drawing for the game on the 6th, is it possible to trade with the winner of the first drawing, as long as they are able to go to the second. It would really hurt my chances if I had to drop out of one of the drawings.
  7. when exactly did Sheffield go into the stands?? Thats just ignorance on your part. I remember him swatting his glove at a fan who reached onto the field and interfered with a play, but I dont remember Sheffield going into the stands...sorry pal. And I wouldnt call it a rumor, its just speculation....nobody seriously thinks Damon used.
  8. you are right on the Sosa point, what you said about the Sheffield pont has been reported but Sheff has denied it so im not leaning either way, and yes, Bonds did offer to test everyday in front of ESPN cameras in 2004 Spring Training. You probably just dont remember the interview, but I remember it very distinctly.
  9. Where do the latest rumors have him going, Chicago??
  10. see Jose Vizcaino, David Justice, Miguel Cairo, Tanyon Sturtze, Shawn Chacon, Tony Clark, etc.. I hate when people say that hes a bad GM because he has an unlimited supply of money, does everybody forget that during the dynasty we didnt have all of the top players in the game, and most of the big money guys (Giambi, Sheffield, Mondesi, Johnson, etc..) have been George deciscions. Im not going to say that hes the best GM in the game (I do think hes better than Theo, for christs sake he invites fans up to his box, drinks with them, and allows them to make suggestions on trades and stuff), I think that he could do well anywhere.
  11. wow, based on most of the responses here you'd think he was in Boston for 10 years rather than 3. But hey, we can use another versatile bench player here in NY so thanks for gettin grid of him guys
  12. Is there a seperate thread for these tickets or are you just going to do 2 drawings based on the posts you get on this thread? If thats the case is it possible that if I win the drawing for the September 6th game, that I can trade with the winner of the September 4th game (but ONLY if the winner of that drawing is able to go to the 9/6 game), because the 6th is a Tuesday and I wouldnt be able to make it up to Boston during the week. I would rather do this than drop out of the drawing for the Sept. 6th game as it would hurt my chances of winning.
  13. wow I wish I was as lucky as you to the point that I could be able to say that they won every game i've been to. Ive been to so many games in the last 13-14 years that I couldnt possibly tell you my record....i tried keeping all the ticket stubs from all of the major league games ive gone to and write the scores on the back but over the years ive just lost track. ...anyway, i hope the amount of people in the drawing doesnt get too much bigger, the smaller thr group the better my chances
  14. I think I should get these seats because for a lifelong die hard Yankee fan like myself, it never gets old walking down those steps at the corner of 161st Street and River Ave and taking that walk down River Ave, of coarse stopping at Stans in the process and checking to see if they have any bargains (I once got an autographed Hoyt Wilhelm photo for $30, with a COA, and for those that dont know Hoyt Wilhelm is a Hall of Fame reliever who came up with the NY Giants and is most known for his knuckle ball and his time with the Orioles and White Sox), then of coarse stopping and seeing if Vinny has any new shirts for sale, then taking that walk down Rupert Place to my gate, walking into the Stadium, finding my section and walking up that ramp to the mystifying site of the hallowed ground that is Yankee Stadium. ...And not to mention I reccomended these tickets for you
  15. I can make the trip up for the weekend, and get to experience a typical game at Fenway, because the only other time i've been at Fenway is for a Yankee game and it would be great to see the atmosphere of the park and the fans.
  16. I was looking on eBay and noticed that there are still some Green Monster seats available for September games...just a suggestion, because im sure that there are many people on this board who havent had the opprotunity to sit in the Monster Seats.
  17. sorry about the length of the PM, I tried to give you my best description and best judgement.
  18. so where are we supposed to make the brief post, right here?
  19. Are you a Red Sox fan or an Orioles fan, you claim to be an O's fan but Ive never seen someone who liked another team in the same division as much as you.
  20. Barry Bonds offered to be tested everyday, Sheffield has offered to be tested, Sosa has offered to take tests, the list goes on ....care to re-think your post
  21. Well if you read the article you would see that Jeter has no problem with it, and Jeter even said that Ruben has been over his house since the incident. No one's expecting him to come in here and fill the shoes of Bernie Williams, just someone to play a little in September. But thats why they're signing him to a minor league deal so he can get some time in Columbus first.
  22. The Yankees are expected to sign veteran outfielder Ruben Rivera to a Minor League Contract for Outfield insurance when the rosters expand in September. Ruben Rivera is the player who was released from the Yankees during Spring Training of 2002 after stealing a bat and glove from Derek Jeter's locker and selling them. He came up through the Yankees' system and spent parts of the 1995 and 1996 seasons in the Bronx. He is also the cousin of Mariano Rivera. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Link August 18, 2005 -- YANKEE NOTES ST. PETERSBURG - The Yankees are moving closer to signing Ruben Rivera to a minor league deal, with an eye on seeing if he can help them upgrade center field defensively when the rosters expand next month. "It is something I will probably do," GM Brian Cashman said of signing the 31-year-old Rivera to a minor league contract. "I am not opposed to it. His season is over and he is free." Before Cashman can predict where he would send Rivera (likely Triple-A Columbus), the outfielder needs to secure a work visa, which shouldn't be a problem. Rivera spent this year playing for the Campeche Pirates in the Mexican League, where he batted .342 (102-for-298) with 21 homers and 71 RBIs. He was released from his Campeche contract recently. "I am going to pursue it and see what happens," Cashman said. Rivera could be a defensive upgrade over Bernie Williams, Tony Womack and Bubba Crosby if he is the same outfielder the Yankees had in spring training camp 2002. Of course, that was the year he was cut after swiping a Derek Jeter bat from Jeter's locker and selling it for $2,500. Jeter has no problem with Rivera returning. "He has been to my house since then," Jeter said. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ruben Rivera Career Stats (to 2003)
  23. have you read any of this thread? if so then you would know that most teams place most of their players on waivers
  24. This will NEVER happen
