  1. back to the topic at hand....looks like Raffy has been sent home. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2152480
  2. i think you hit the nail right on the head ....seriously though, anyone?
  3. Go SFoC!! You tell everybody! In all seriousness, you are 100% correct, I think we need to stick to the topic at hand. If everybody made an effort, Yankee fans and Sox fans alike, this could be a great site
  4. im not a steroid expert, as im sure none of us are. So it would be hard to copy/paste steroid information and have everybody be able to understand it. All I can say is that people need to open their minds, you treat someone who took a medical steroid ONCE the same as someone who was injecting anabolic steroids for 20-30 years. Lighten up, baseball has a drug policy now, let that determine who is on steroids, not us.
  5. No, a trainer wouldnt risk it, the doctor gave it to him. Ill find the SI article that has all the info on the Sheffield situation and post it so that everybody will get off his back. seriously though, rubbing cream isnt injecting something into your blood stream, I dont see how rubbing cream on your leg can enhance your performance. He was using it for MEDICAL purposes, not anabolic. Many medical substances contain a steroid. Its just that most of you on this forum think that steroid means anabolic steroid.
  6. wow congrats on the great trip BoSox21
  7. lol tell me about it
  8. just out of curiosity, does anybody know why Mark waers the double ear-flap helmet. My original conclusion when I saw him wear it a few years back is because he was a switch hitter, but i thought about it and most switch hitters DONT wear the double ear helmet.
  9. I doubt it. He wont sign with the Sox when he has the opprotunity to be in Spring Training with his son, and have the possibility of having his son called up in September. That would be some hell of a battery, Clemens catching Clemens (his son is a natural 3B, but he also catches). The only team I could see him being traded to is the Yankees.
  10. I would cheer for him if he was with the Mets. Im not one of the Yankee fans who hates the Mets. I have too much pride for where im from to hate a NY team. The only time I root against the Mets is during the Subway Series (regular season and World Series)
  11. look man, nobody wants to have a player on steroids. Did Giambi take them? Yes he did. Did Sheffield take them? No, he rubbed a cream that contained a steroid ingrediant on his injured knee, and he wasnt even on the Yankees at that time. You act as if the Red Sox never had a player who took steroids. Just because none of your players have tested positive or had classified information confirming that they took steroids released to the public doesnt mean that a Red Sock has never used. You guys had Canseco (as did we), you had Mo Vaughn, who I wouldnt be surprised to find out if hes used steroids. You had Clemens (as did we), who I dont think did steroids, but there is plenty of speculation. So lets not point fingers at the Yankee organization until you can prove that nobody to wear a uniform that said Red Sox across the front has ever used steroids. And I said you guys were ridiculous because youre making stupid jokes about it....its not a funny topic.
  12. NO LOVE FOR SIDNEY: Despite the Yanks' brittle pitching staff, the Bombers have little interest in signing former Oriole Sidney Ponson, according to one source. Baltimore put the problematic righthander on waivers, claiming his multiple brushes with the law violated the standard morals clause in his contract. The Yanks also have no interest in promoting Hideo Nomo from Triple-A Columbus. One pitcher they do want is Chien-Ming Wang, who allowed three runs and 11 hits in five innings in Columbus last night. The Bombers are hoping he can return late next week. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/story/343271p-293124c.html
  13. Thats understandable. I just hope he doesnt get booed for it at Roger Clemens day at Fenway Park when he has his number retired (assuming he goes into the Hall as a Red Sock, because due to the stupid Bosox number retiring policy, a player must spend 10 years with the Sox and be inducted into the Hall as a Red Sock to have his number retired)
  14. I was wondering how some have bigger Avs as well...Arods is HUGE
  15. Yea but Rog didnt rip YOU GUYS, he ripped the organization.
  16. I like that, who do you pick as the playoff 4, I go Johnson, Chacon, Small, and Wang (assuming that he is in the form he was in earlier in the season, i'd rather have Wright provide a power arm in the pen, but If Wang doesnt pitch to the level he did earlier, then I throw Wang in the Pen)
  17. what are you talking about, who would you rather have in the 2 hole, Cano who swings at anything?? Matsui has done a very good job there
  18. ill take Nomo over Ponson ANYDAY
  19. I think I would have booed him, but only because he was a Sock, when he retires and his career is all said and done, when he comes back for old-timers day he will get as big an ovation as anybody. Its like how Jeff Kent got recieved on opening day in SF this year...because of the uniform Wells is wearing, we are going to boo him. But when he tales it off he will be loved again (as long as he doesnt keep pulling this s*** and ripping us)
  20. and you guys have never been knocked around?? If one blowout game determines the entire season then baseball would be a very boring and unenjoyable sport.
  21. you guys were in the same boat at this time last year and look what happened.
  22. look man, im in too much pain to worry about my spelling, and I appologize for not capatalizing the V, I hope you are as dilligent with other things as you are with my spelling and punctuation. I know very little about prescription narcotics, so that is why i spelled it wrong, im sorry now let me go prepare for my lynching
  23. me too, favorite time of the year...except when we're in a race rather than 40 games up like usual.
  24. there were other teams that wanted him, if his passion for the Yankees was as strong as he claimed then he wouldnt have gone there. Majority of Yankees and former Yankees are pretty loyal, you dont see too many former Yanks going over there...recent years its Mendoza (which was a heartbreak to see him in that jersey), Wells, and Olerud (who I dont really consider a Yankee, he was with us for 2 freakin months). But you got guys who were loved there like Clemens, Boggs, Bellhorn, Embree, etc.. coming here...even Nomar said he was willing to come here in the offseason. He obviously preferred to come here in the offseason, but anywhere but Boston would have been fine. We dont deserve the "f*** you" from him, we're not the ones who didnt entertain the possibility of bringing him back, that was Cashman. He was a headache to everyone related to the Yankees except George and the fans (despite the ups and downs George loved Boomer).
