  1. what is it with Ron Artest....seems like every year he has a new number, he used to wear 15, 2 years ago he had 23, last year he had 91 (for Rodman I believe) and now hes back to 15...I would never buy an Artest jersey just for the fact that it will be outdated within like a year
  2. YEA!!! and we got kerrigan too...im not too thrilled about it, but its not that big a deal, hopefuly he does good for us though. ------------------------------------ Now that Buckey Dent has been named the Reds' bench coach I wonder who takes over in Columbus.
  3. I REALLY hope its not true, I would rather have Crosby play everyday or us go out and get Rickey Ledee ro something than have MIlton bradley.
  4. I think that the best possibility would have been Towers, but he is out. So from the list I think you guys could really benefit from Bowden. From what I understand, him and Steinbrenner have a good relationship and I heard he was a guy who would have been a top candidate had Cashman left. So he might not want to go to work for the Red Sox....but hey, if the $$$ is there , im sure he will be too. Also, maybe you guys just go without a GM and let the front office handle everything.
  5. yea, i've been following him the last few years myself....really good hitter. I sure hope you guys dont get him.
  6. I just saw on ESPNEWS that Frank Thomas' contract has been bought out by the White Sox. (I dont have a link yet but I will provide one) I wonder where he goes from here.
  7. oh, lol my mistake...I thought that you meant when he left for Baltimore to begin with yea, I was pretty sure after he got fired this year that he would be back. IN fact, I thought that Cashman would have had him back this past season. Didnt quite work out that way.
  8. alright then, my mistake
  9. That would be something if we could get Dotel as our primary setup guy, grab Wagner (doubtful) to be our closer, and move Roberto Hernandez (if he doesnt retire) from setup to middle relief to spell him some of those innings he threw this year. Daily News Link
  10. Cincinnatti Enquirer Link Cincinnatti Post Link Newsday Link
  11. I dont think it would take our 4 best prospects, but it would definately require a pretty hefty package. Anyone wlse happy about having Tony Pena here? Also, I think that the Yanks should consider Roy White to replace Bucky Dent in Columbus as the manager, as it looks like Bucky will become the Reds' new bench coach (I'll provide a link later)
  12. I dont wanna talk about it Go Clippers!! (my favorite Western Conference team)
  13. granted, I agree with you guys that its not a big deal, but illegal poker clubs in New York are a lot different than 4 or 5 buddies gathering around in a basement playing poker. But like I said, as long as he doesnt miss any time and as long as this doesnt have an effect on his play, I dont mind.
  14. I think the Angels lineup, and the 1-2 punch of Vlad and Manny would be BETTER than The Red Sox lineup consisting of Ortiz and Ramirez. Being that the Angels totally wipe their asses with pinstriped jerseys that feature a "NY" over the heart, this is a trade that I DO NOT want to go down. Especially since the Sox will be filling two of their holes with power bats and good defense. C'mon Omar, lets get Manny in Queens.
  15. If I recall correctly, he didnt get fired, but rather left for the managerial job in Baltimore, which was considered a promotion, which he is allowed to do without penalty. But yea, like you said, I dont think there was any doubt he would be back here...in fact, I predicted this in the Girardi thread after someone asked who would replace Joe as the bench coach. Good to see him back, Mazzo is the man.
  16. I missed it, hopefully they show some of it on the NESN sportsdesk later
  17. This is GREAT Pretty funny yea right, they will never fire Shaughnessy
  18. Im happy that my second favorite sport is FINALLY here. BTW, does anyone else think that the Knicks are a lot of fun to watch this year? Like I still cant believe how much fun these guys are to watch this year, I watched more preseason basketball this year then I ever have before. It sure would be nice to start our season off with a win tonight against BOSTON, but I sware, if Antonio Davis gets called on one more "3 in the Key" violation, im going to slap him one night outside if the Garden.
  19. yea, the defensive performance of Aaron Rowand during that set here in NY was AMAZING
  20. I read about this when it was first out in the papers, my thoughts then abotu this and my thoughts now are simply this; It doesnt matter to me, because he sure as hell has the money to do it, but if it effects him on the field or he misses time because he's locked up for illegal gambling or he gets shot due to the fact that he owed someone money, then that is when I get mad.
  21. WOW....well I am one person who likes(liked) Matt Lawton, going back to his Mets days, and was pretty excited when we traded for him. In fact I was in favor of possibly keeping him aboard for next year...but now that this has been revealed, f*** HIM! I am ashamed to have had him on the 2005 New York Yankees.
  22. first Red Sox catcher to win a Gold Glove or first Red Sox player in general? If it is the latter then...wow
  23. I never said his stock was as high as a Miguel Cabrera or an Albert Pujols, what I meant whas that I wouldnt trade him away in a package (not just by himself, but in a package, didnt think I had to explain it) unless we got a guy like Pujols/Cabrera/ or like a Felix Hernandez in return. Trust me, I know hes not as good as Pujols yet.
  24. Because Jeter is better ...Also, im kind of surprised A-Rod didnt get it, but you cant go wrong with Eric Chavez Congrats Tek
  25. oh yea, I agree...no guarantee that he will be good anywhere except 3rd...in fact, didnt he struggle a little bit this year at first in Trenton? But it is good to see him tearing it up in Arizona. And yea, I trade Duncan for a Pujols/Miguel Cabrera kind of guy.
