  1. When I heard the news I was very pleased...I thought he should have gotten on the team originally, but I'll take it, he really deserves it
  2. But as said earlier by RSR, Giambi is a line drive hitter...then the bunt is good because that lessens his chance of getting out (granted his lack of speed) but Im with the same feelings of wrecking the mechanics of his swing, but the idea is not a bad one...but it seems like all the guys they do the shifts to are HEAVY pull hitters with the occasional hits to left *see Papi's series winning homer against Anaheim and the homer he hit off of Gordon in Game 5*
  3. Yeah, its frustrating seeing them lose to the Blue Jays (Not the worst team but not a team that should give us this kinda fits) when we are a first place team...I agree Irish Jay I hope we mop the floor with them too
  4. Huge chance of failure...How so?
  5. HMMMMM...So let me get this straight...if stolen bases and intangibles don't matter, then I guess Dave Roberts didn't mean anything to our team last year..........
  6. Utley's a Second Baseman right? He can start over Bellhorn (Just kidding Soxie ) But who wouldn't mind having Utley unless your the Texas Rangers...
  7. Arod2212, if your saying that if the Yankees do well in games in JULY (well meaning maybe .600 win percentage) that you will WIN the AL East?!?!?!?!? YOUR INSANE, divisions ARE NOT won in July they are won in September...
  8. Gerald Green will play the three position (athletic, 6'8") and Pierce will play the two, not anyone else
  9. Im no expert on Celtics basketball but I dont see the Celtics sucking this coming year or for years to come, good core with Antoine and Pierce, and now Gerald Green (Major athletic if you havent seen him, he won the McDonald's All-American dunk contest)
  10. I didn't catch the whole game tonight... but I was able to see Millar bat once, and it was UGLY! (a strikeout) If hes complaining about his role...HOW ABOUT STEP UP WHEN YOU GET THE CHANCE TO PLAY! If hes being brash about it, we should release him and not have to worry about him ever again, because nobody would give up anything for Millar, so why watse time shopping him around... I can see it now... *Theo is on the phone with the Brewers (just a team mentioned here)* "Yeah, this is Theo Epstein...I'm looking for someone interetsed in a trade for Kevin Millar. Would you be that GM?" "Sure...you can have our concession stand guy...we need a new one anyway" LOL
  11. Where'd you hear that? Id like to see Burnett here also
  12. I think Sizzlin's right...Tek is huge, I remember last year (I think it was when he won 21 games) but Schilling said its a huge testament to Jason Varitek and the preparation before every start...so Tek is a big part in my eyes
  13. Yeah...the "Best Player in baseball today" should have ran away with the votes after the first day and ended up with 38 million votes...but not even there, OBViously not the best... AND about the "they will take Jeter or Tejada over Renteria.... HA!!!! No thanks...I got Edgars back
  14. Except today
  15. WOW! Oddly, I've never seen that picture but heard tons about it, the number thing (1918), the Renteria being number 3 and being like Ruth, yada yada yada...Its a beautiful thing
  16. Game 7 BABY!!!!!!!!! Come on Detroit!!! Funny thing is, I havent watched much of this years Finals...My team got beat, and I'm not a Pistons fan or a Spurs fan AT ALL! I remember back when the Playoffs started (maybe it was last year...I dunno things run together lol ) saying that I would HATE seeing Detroit and the Spurs in the Finals. And here we are...LOL, oh well Go Pistons!!!
  17. Wow, thanks for the stats. I think its pretty obvious...Damon wins, he owns Ichiro in every offensive category except homers
  18. Yeah, when I saw the score (11-7) I was happy, but what made me even happier was when I realized that Johnson was pitching. You may have won against the Rays, but like Calvn said its gotta be sorta "bittersweet"...gave up 11 runs to the Rays, and Randy was responsible for 7
  19. You may have scored 13 runs in one inning, but take another step back...and see that 1. It was Tampa Bay, and 2. Randy Johnson your "svaior" pitched AWFUL against...TAMPA! (If their, meaning the D-Rays, so great offensively, name one MAJOR, like Manny or Papi or Vlad like offensive threat)
  20. I saw some of that...it was sorta funny, when Baylor was down 7-0 in the 7th (with 1 out I THINK) and Tulane's short-stop bobbled the grounder AFTER harold Reynolds was saying about how Baylor should "put their hard working reserves in to give them a chance to play"...I thought about how the Cubs choked against the Marlins in the 2003 NLCS, and how it could be the sorta the same thing
  21. Yeah this is great and Im very excited! But did anyone see Kevin Youkilis batting against Schilling yesterday...is that what a simulated game is, Ive never known EXACTLY what one is... :dunno:
  22. Welcome, good to have another Sox fan
  23. Good seats indeed
  24. GOOD, When I saw this thread I thought I was going to read about Sox fan in Tex raning about another Spurs win...I HATE THE SPURS... Go SUNS in 06!
