  1. I thought Texiera was starting first base for the US. Maybe I'm wrong.
  2. I could definitely put 50 bones to use.
  3. Good pick up as long as he doesn't take his anger out on the dugout wall or phone or whatever it was with his fist.
  4. I'm hoping they're right about Papelbon and Lester. Papelbon showed some promise late last year. I'm not too hurt about them trading Hanley.
  5. Yeah...this blows. It's not the fact that he's gone, but the fact that just a few months ago, he vowed he would never play for the Yankees. I guess I should start realizing money talks. The bad thing is, we need a shortstop AND a centerfielder...one of which needs to be able to hit leadoff.
  6. You can tell that the Marlins aren't happy where they're at. Beckett gone. Lowell gone. And now Delgado??? I'm interested to see what they do with Cabrera. He'll prolly slide over to 3rd to replace Lowell, but who knows. With Delgado gone, he has no protection in the lineup. What's this about them going to Vegas???
  7. Yeap. Looks that way as long as everyone passes a physical. Along with Lowell. Let's just hope Beckett can get that blister problem under control and also hope that this past season was just an off year for Lowell.
  8. The Mets seem to be trying hard to work something out. I doubt seriously that the Padres are trying for Manny. For starters, I don't see the Padres taking on the remainder of Manny's salary and Manny is a 10-5 guy(been in the league for ten years and on one team for the last five). Which means he has the right to veto any trade he deems unsuitable. The Mets are probably trying to get something for Cameron. He was kind of expensive and he had that nasty collision with Beltran that broke several bones in his face. He also hasn't been cleared by a Dr. yet. Evident;y his eyesight isn't 100%. The Red Sox need to sign a GM before they do anything. I've heard rumors that Theo may want to come back afterall, but that would make Luchinno look like he gave in or something. It's all about a power struggle or something. Who knows.
  9. I think the smart thing to do is hurry up and re-sign Theo so he can concentrate on some of these free-agents. Also, Manny has to be figured out if this is at all possible. Wagner or Ryan would be great, but that is going to be a killer market for those two. Papelbon will help the rotation a lot. I think this off-season could get interesting.
  10. By the way....we're not loaded with starting pitching. That's been one of our weakest points this year. Not to mention our bullpen. Theo will be on the market looking for a hired gun soon...trust me.
  11. It was on Foxsports.com a few days ago. Basically, the Rangers seem to be more willing than anyone else to allow Roger to continue his flexibilty. Like not having to attend games if he isn't starting, being able to choose whether or not he travels and so forth. Plus it's a heck of a lot closer than New York. Don't forget that Clemens' idolized Nolan Ryan who retired from.....The Texas Rangers. The Rangers' explosive offense could definitely treat him a lot better than the pitiful Astros lineup. Texas could be a true contender with someone like Clemens.
  12. Has anyone else read up or heard any more talk about this subject?
  13. Hey, going to see the Sox play the Orioles July 10 at Camden Yards. I'm trying to find out who the prospective pitchers may be. I know it's early, but I just want a ballpark figure. I'm having trouble finding this. Thanks for the help.
  14. I wonder who will be this year's National League Most Valuable Lee. Derrek Lee and Carlos Lee are hitting the cover off the ball and aren't showing any signs of slowing down....at least it isn't Barry.
