  1. Did you forget who our power forward is??? A guy named Amare Stoudemire whos pretty damn good, and who manhandled Duncan, and everyone for that matter (remember the block??? Thats a sign of things to come) no- one can guard him. The reason we lost was because we were (and still are i think) the youngest team in basketball. Besides Nash we had no experience (and Joe's broken face didn't help). I agree Duncan is a great player but think about this...Amare is still learning, this is only his 5th year of playing basketball (and two were in high school). Like Shaq said "I've seen the new face of the NBA. And his name is Amare Stoudemire."
  2. I don't like the trade, seeing as he is my favorite player. But we have a thread for that talk, http://www.talksox.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3749
  3. NO! He is already a star in Phoenix. He is a huge and vital part on the Suns team. The fans want a championship. We traded Quentin Richardson, so we could 1) get the necessary parts (big man) to beat the Spurs (not saying Kurt Thomas is an elite big man but hes a banger) and 2) To SIGN JOE JOHNSON! We were so close last year, its very hard to believe that he could overlook that just to be the number one option on a terrible team.
  4. If ANYONE sees the reasoning behind this...please help me with this one, because it makes ZERO sense to me.
  5. Welcom to Talksox. Enjoy your stay
  6. According to ESPN Radio, and Marc Stein, Joe Johnson will sign the Hawks offer sheet, and he has aksed the Suns not to match their offer. WHAT THE HELL?!?? Is he a f***ing idiot?!? The Suns won 62 games last year! 62! It took the Hawks close to three years to win 62 games. AND he would have gotten 6 years 90 million from the Suns, instead of 5 years 70 million from the Hawks! His main reason to leave Phoenix is because he doesn't want to be the "fourth wheel" :wtf: ARE YOU SERIOUS JOE??? He had his best season of his career at 17.1 ppg and he was playing with Steve Nash, a GREAT point guard. The Hawks have, Tony Delk... :thumbdown Have fun Joe winning 25 games and watching the Playoffs on TV, instead of being in them with the Suns.
  7. LOL, talk about digging up OLD ass threads. Geez
  8. Thats better than this other Huff and Cameron ********. But why would we want Looper? He's a good closer but not great. Maybe part of the Burnett deal??? :dunno: Didn't they want a pen arm? Either way...Im not jumping for joy at the thought of not having Manny in our lineup. Hes a great hitter and my favorite player, I would be very sad to see him go.
  9. Better be a helluva lot better than this "plan A"
  10. And what the f*** is plan B???
  11. Why would they be pulled in, in the first place??? :dunno: This trade was ******** from the start. IMO, it was to get the media off the Burnett deal talks and whip rumors around about Manny.
  12. Hammer does have a point, A-Rod might break those numbers (Aaron, Henderson, etc.) but Pujols will (without injury) break them right behind A-Rod, especially at the pace hes playing at.
  13. Manny's trade value is MUCH higher than that, regardless of how much he makes. Cameron is mediocre and I don't know alot about Huff, but everyone here seems to think he sucks, so bad fit. If the Mets are going to be that stingy, Theo should tell Manny to pipe down and playing f***ing baseball, because he is worth much more than that. And also, if we WERE to trade him, I would want a power right-handed bat to compliment Ortiz to keep that Left-Right combo, otherwise specialist's (if we were to get a lefty) would feast on us, or just walk one to get to the other. BAD trade. This is probably some rumor to get people steamed up about this trade so Theo can work under the radar with Florida for A.J. Burnett.
  14. But why Chacon? Was he the best available for the Yankees?
  15. Every team has bad fans, We do, and so do you guys. But the known posters on this board (Yankee fans included) are respectable and I can't see these guys saying things like what I read on the YES boards tonight. Have you seen what they said? I assume, because of your presence here (I think you said you used to post there, or maybe that was NYYfans? :dunno: ) that you left there because of the f***heads allowed to post there.
  16. When did we scoff at a guy getting hit in the head?
  17. Ill give credit to some as well. Not all of them showed class, page one was good, but from then it was MOSTLY awful. Seriously, that NoMoreWeaver guy made me want to puke :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown No wonder we have so many Yankee fans here (ones who actually have a soul as one poster there said), it was quite gross.
  18. As for the records, I've said for a few years that A-Rod will break Aaron's homerun record, maybe even shatter it, 800-850 I dunno, maybe more :dunno: but as a person I don't like the guy, but thats another thread or two. (or ten LMAO ) I saw ESPN run those stats tonight and I didn't realize he was ahead of all of them at 30. I could see him breaking the Homers, RBI's, and Runs records, but as people said before, the hits will be hard to do.
  19. Not a shock to me. I talked to someone I know who has a buddy in Detroit and he said that Joe Dumars wanted Darko to play more, and Joe told Brown that he wanted more minutes for Darko, and of course Brown didn't play him much at all. That, and the fact that Dumars wanted a guy who was committed to the Pistons to coach the team, not a guy who was shopping his services around. As for the move itself, I think for the Knicks, its good because hes the best available, and if I was Isiah Thomas, I would take him over their old coach anyday,(Quite frankly, I would take him over ALOT of coaches in the L right now) kinda pricy if you ask me but, its New York...since when has any New York franchise had a shortage of money? I think he will help the team improve somewhat, but not as drastic as competing for a championship
  20. Yeah it was annoying wasn't it? They were in excess when they had their 1/2 game lead, and disappeared a day later. LOL
  21. Wood is like a walking house of cards. It's sorta sad how much him and Prior are hurt. And Prior was once said to have the best mechanics in baseball...what happened to that??? :dunno:
  22. Using "Bonds-like" after an off-season like this past one can bring up some doubts, especially with A-Rod.
  23. Phenominal pitcher, and "the chicks dig the long ball"
  24. And who made you the authority on people giving compliments??? I can't wait for your response, because I know what the truth is. But you go on and keep your Yankee bais thinking that A-Rod does no wrong and he was being nice...Ill just stick to the facts
