  1. He would certainly be expensive....two of the Sox top prospects and maybe something else....but if you were going to move top prospects...why not for another top prospect? On a side note I've heard from a lot of scouts and people who observe the minors closely....that all say Hanley Ramirez is better than Aaron Hill and Robinson Cano Aaron Hill - .341 AVG, .398 OBP, .478 SLG Robinson Cano - .302 AVG, .324 OBP, .465 SLG .....as long as he can show some games at 2B.....I expect he jumps up soon....I really want to see what this kid can do
  2. Its just you....I refuse to give in and be happy with one championship....is that all you wanted??? ....until you do it 3 out of 4 times I'm not that excited (yes im referring to the Patriots)
  3. The more I think about this.....Romero would be awesome but not for Bill Mueller. I think our bullpen hopes still come down to Keith Foulke. He needs to regain form and be the closer of this team. I've said a few times I want Billy Wagner but Romero would be cheaper and has been pitching well in the AL. He would be a great lefty to replace our beloved Embree. Having Romero, Timlin, Myers, and Bradford would be a very stable bullpen....Schilling will do well as the closer BUT...Foulke needs to come back and reclaim his place. For no other reason than to let Schilling reclaim his place as the leader of this rotation. Hell maybe we can talk to Minnesota about Morneau
  4. Yanks vs. Devil Rays (3-7) Red Sox vs. Devil Rays (4-3) hmmm ???
  5. I just realized....Alex Cora got 2 of those 3 hits hahaha....makes me feel good actually cause now the whole team can get back to hitting
  6. I will take a healthy Curt Schilling in any matchup against the Yanks or Baltimore (tough call vs. Halladay in Toronto) but the Orioles depth and history against us makes the rest of the matchups a tough one. Injuries are a problem...but I dont think he had a lot of injuries just a bad one.... I'll be honest....Burnett, Bedard, and Lopez scare me
  7. Philly will never give up Chase Utley. But wow would I love to get him.
  8. I'm not so sure...if the Phils move Padilla or give up on him which sounds realistic cause he sucks...they will look for a new pitcher....enter Bronson Arroyo....a pitcher who doesnt give up many HRs and would possibly have potential at there softball field. I believe they are lacking a young catcher...enter Kelly Shoppach and they would need a possible replacement to the bullpen for depth since losing Wagner in the name of Abe Alvarez..... basically im just saying the package that was potential for Burnett may not be much different than the package for Wagner. Another team may also get involved since we know San Diego is looking and has good relations with us.....the Phils could use a 3B too which means they may be interested in Sean Burroughs....something could get done here without killing our farm system but its also an upgrade for Philly since they have another closer and would add to there rotation
  9. His command is still not there but you are right be battles.....but man you really get a glimpse of some of those pitches....the curve is awesome (when it doesnt hit way in front)...he ALMOST got out of the 1st this time quickly myself and elsrbueno picked him to have a great 2nd half....im sticking with that
  10. Not to mention Mueller is having a gold glove type year. Would the Sox ever consider trying Youk out at first??? I also think they should at least try Hanley out for a bit....he could be one of those guys who embraces the situation and completely takes off....if he doesnt...i dont think it would destroy a 21 year olds life and career. Perhaps we get our own Robinson Cano with more upside at this point of the season. You gotta think eventually our infield will be made up of 3B-Youk, SS-Hanley, 2B-Pedroia, 1B-??
  11. yea count those in the L column
  12. Papelbon might be a reach as he has struggled a little at AAA. El Guapo is a good story but we may need to be realistic.....simply having Wagner and a recovered Foulke would be all the difference just look at it..... Foulke (closer) Wagner (LHP set up) Timlin (RHP set up) Bradford (RHP situational relief) Myers (LHP situational relief)
  13. I will deffinitly agree that I want Billy Wagner....you have insurance is Foulke cant return to form but even more so....if Foulke DOES return to form....we are talking about the best bullpen in baseball.... Foulke could take back the closer spot while Timlin and Wagner are your left and right set up men.....good lord and yes Schilling back in the rotation gives us an ace which we do not have at this moment.
  14. I wouldn't mind Graffanino but only if they are bringing up Hanley....otherwise I would want Belliard for the time being to challenge Bellhorn and push him a little harder...cause you are right he is coming back. But if either Hanley or Belliard performed well it may change things....Graffanino would just keep the seat warm although I like how he can play all infield positions.
  15. BK Kim trade sucked Suppan trade sucked on the other hand... Schilling trade was good Nomar trade was good
  16. The Good 1. Schilling is coming alive 2. Our farm system is almost ready to take off 3. We have the best 3-4 hitters in the game 4. Despite playing poorly we are still in the mix 5. Red Sox held 1st place for 25 days 6. Johnny Damon had a great hitting streak 7. We had many all stars 8. Still have the greatest fans in the world 9. Still the defending World Series Champions The Bad 1. Millar is guaranteed to go back into another slump 2. Our rotation is full of average pitchers (all good nothing great) 3. Our bullpen is slowly being pieced together but missing the main ingredient (Foulke) 4. This team does not hit HRs the way it used to 5. Theo will struggle to make moves based on not wanting to mortgage the future 6. We lost our .218 AVG 2B and need a replacement 7. Cora, Stern, and Olerud are not Mientkewicz, Pokey, and Roberts 8. Dale Sveum is still on the team 9. Manny suddenly can't hit lefty pitchers The Ugly The New York Yankees have taken over the lead in the AL East after having a .500 record for almost half the season. Boston Red Sox have been owned in the AL East division which they led for a month.
  17. Yeah he is deffinitly part of the solution....we need to be upgrading the right side of the infield more than degrading the left side. And if you are going to degrade the left side get something more than a reliever.
  18. I actually like Hudson... In fact I like a lot of the guys on Toronto including Hillenbrand (who I would like to see play 1st for us) and Ted Lilly (would be excellent lefty out of the bullpen). Miguel Batista has also looked good. If I had to build my team around one pitcher I would probably take Roy Halladay We should deffinitly be talking to Toronto about possible moves.
  19. Yeah I'm not too interested...he should go to the NL...his throwing style would be better suited over there
  20. Neither Graffanino or Belliard are a long term solution but I wouldnt mind having one take over as a utility infielder. Pick up one of them and then dump Cora. I would rather have Belliard cause if you noticed....our team doesnt seem to be hitting as many HRs as I remember. I'd still like to see Hanley give 2nd a try in the majors.....he might be just what we need.
  21. I hate that trade.... Bill Mueller is a switch hitting team player that is working on a potential gold glove this year. He comes up with big hits and works pitchers well.....there has to be another option for a lefty to take Embree spot.
  22. Although he is one of my favs I have to blame Manny. Bases loaded with no outs against a LHP and Manny hits into a double play.....i would expect at the least a fly ball to the outfield. How come he is only hitting .189 against LHP???? seems a little odd
  23. eh dont mind me....im just a diehard Red Sox fan...its what i do but its only temporary...no more bitching i already vented enough in my original thread
  24. you really think they will bring him up?? i hope you are right
