  1. Mike Lowell - fielding% (.982) errors (4) assists (148) Bill Mueller - fielding% (.978) errors (4) assists (128) ....there is nothing wrong with Mike Lowell's defense
  2. i would think so but some things i read say they are running into trouble....the two problems are 1) The Twins are more interested in Kyle Lohse than Joe Mays 2) The Red Sox are nervous about Mike Lowell Theo must see how great this deal is and I guess it was already proposed so they might still be working on it. Its just a matter of getting all teams feeling good. The Marlins would pick up two starters and the Twins would add some offense. Obviously the Red Sox would gain a proven 3B, a dominant setup lefty, and a potential ace.....wow get it done
  3. nevermind it was moved to the rumor section....yea thats where it belongs what was i thinking
  4. HAHA go look at my posts in the Talk Sox Forum titled "Red Sox-Marlins-Twins Proposed Trade" and you will see we agree on everything once again. Thank you for making my point about Mike Lowell clear.
  5. Mike Lowell is also batting .280 since the all-star break and I hear he has run into some bad luck with well hit balls. ....he is starting to heat up and his BA against LHP is (.313). Considering our supposed slugging RHB now (Manny and Millar) are hitting (.206 and .230) against LHP I'd say that would help us out a little.
  6. Thats what I'm saying though is if Lowell came to Boston and hit between Nixon and Varitek....first off more guys will be on base than in Florida....and he hits righty which means he is hitting into the monster and this guy hits the ball pretty hard.....that on-base% would more than likely go up. This guy is too good of a hitter to just suddenly disappear. If Bill Mueller was moved to Minnesota....I guarantee his numbers don't come out the same as if he were in Boston. The thing I see with the money...look at other top 3B...Beltre, Rodriguez, Rolen, Aramis Ramirez, Chipper Jones.....these guys make huge money and it wasn't too long ago that Mike Lowell was too far behind them. Plus if Youkilis is ready to jump in at 3rd then you can move Lowell to 1st and I don't want to talk about the money it costs for a top guy there.
  7. Why is everyone talking about Mike Lowell as if he sucks.... He would be going from a crap offense in Florida to an excellent offense in Boston and would hit between Trot nixon and Jason Varitek. He typically hits the same average as Millar but hits more HRs and more RBIs AND he is hitting in Florida. Hitting in Fenway would certainly help him and I think he just needs a change of scenery. Whats also important about him is he is a leader and a good club house guy....he likes to win. The money is an issue yes but Henry already said they would increase there cap. Mike Lowell can also play some good defense...I dont think you would lose much there plus it would mean more playing time for Olerud who can play some real good defense.
  8. I hear what everyone says about Mueller and I like him too but if moving him will help us get AJ Burnett then lets do it. Adding his arm and JC Romero to the bullpen gives us a huge advantage over the Yanks and Orioles cause now we match there bullpens and have a better starting rotation. If Foulke came back and was back to form it gives us the best bullpen and best starting rotation..... As good as Mueller was in the playoffs.....I think it was our pitching that was the biggest difference in the playoffs. I also think if we were to deal Mueller and Millar..... Olerud, Lowell, and Youkilis could hold down 1st and 3rd just fine. Youkilis could push to have the same stats as Mueller and Lowell easily has potential to kill Millar's stats.
  9. This was a proposed trade on Wednesday.... The Red Sox send third baseman Bill Mueller and possibly a (prospect or Kevin Millar) to the Twins for lefty J.C. Romero and righty Joe Mays. The Red Sox then send Bronson Arroyo and Mays to the Marlins for Burnett and Lowell.
  10. Here was the proposed trade on Wednesday..... The Red Sox send third baseman Bill Mueller and possibly a prospect to the Twins for lefty J.C. Romero and righty Joe Mays. The Red Sox then send Bronson Arroyo and Mays to the Marlins for Burnett and Lowell. Now the Marlins are more interested in Lohse but the Twins don't want to give him up. The issue with the Sox is obviously Mike Lowell but I don't really have too much of a problem with him. As great a season Bill Mueller is having defensively....Mike Lowell has a higher fielding% and always has. They also have the same amount of errors and aside from the batting average....they have the same amount of runs, HR, and RBI....... In short its not much of a downgrade if any its just the money. Mike Lowell is still not that old though and would probably benefit by playing in a more friendly ballpark.....not to mention the most important part of this deal.....we get an awesome setup lefty in JC Romero and..oh yeah AJ Burnett MAKE THE DEAL
  11. you mean the Marlins called the Red Sox
  12. They send down Youkilis and designate Alan Embree.... I certainly could be reading too far into this but...Bronson Arroyo, Kevin Youkilis, and Alan Embree to Florida for AJ Burnett and Mike Lowell If that was the case then either Mike Lowell or Bill Mueller would probably be traded considering the Sox wouldn't need both with Tony G and Cora as backup infielders. One of them would probably move to Minnesota for JC Romero. I think an extra team could be involved somewhere but prospects as well...most likely (Shoppach, Moss, Alvarez)

  14. It seems the Red Sox aren’t out of the A.J. Burnett sweepstakes after all. The Orioles were thought to be very close to a deal to acquire Burnett yesterday, but that trade has hit a snag because of Baltimore’s reluctance to pick up the remaining years (two) and money ($21 million) remaining on third baseman Mike Lowell’s contract. The Marlins have been trying to unload Lowell on any team that trades for Burnett. According to the Globe's Gordon Edes, the Orioles’ reluctance has motivated the Red Sox to redouble their efforts to acquire Burnett. Florida is hoping to get a serviceable starting pitcher and a top setup man in return. The Red Sox would be willing to part with Bronson Arroyo if they could get Burnett and were attempting to involve a third team that could offer an additional piece that would satisfy the Marlins. The Sox also are leery of picking up the remaining years and money on Lowell’s contract, especially with Kevin Youkilis looming as the third baseman of the future. Lowell has struggled this season, hitting .233 with four homers and 38 RBIs. The Sox have also talked to the Twins about a deal in which third baseman Bill Mueller would go to Minnesota for lefthanded setup man J.C. Romero. That deal could be expanded to include Twins pitcher Joe Mays.
  15. Yeah I won't say they win anything until this month is over....they have 7 games against the Angels and I would expect the Angels to win at least 4 of those games if not more. They also have to play Minnesota 3 times and one of those is probably against Santana. Lets see if the Yanks can win half of these games all together
  16. Halama sucks but I really like Bradford....good pickup
  17. We cant dump Halam just yet....we only have two lefty pitchers
  18. i also want to point John Halama sucks
  19. I hate making predictions and looking too far ahead cause teams need to play the games but.... Yanks have a hell of a series against the Angels and have to play them again soon after this coming series....In my honest opinion the Angels have the best all around team in the AL at this point (strong rotation, amazing bullpen, speed, power, defense)....thats a good team not to be underestimated of course we need to play the White Sox....a good test
  20. I like Jones he has a few walk offs I believe
  21. Duncan may be the top Yankee prospect but how would he compare to other teams top prospects????
  22. who would they trade for him???? Wayne Franklin???? and are they really going to push there budget up toward $230 million....that seems rediulous as if that budget wasn't rediculous enough
  23. yea exactly. i want to know who people are more partial too and which would be better to trade....plus my whole thing about Lowell stupid Marlins sound pissed at us cause of Kevin Millar....big deal the guy sucks what are they pissed about...THEY WANT HIM???? TAKE HIM BACK
  24. he's soooo old...but would probably come cheap if they fall out of the race...don't know how excited i am about it though
