  1. Everyone knows Schilling has made our pitching staff much better. He has done great thus far in the playoffs. But here is another reason why he was such a great addition. Everytime you hear Schilling giving interviews, talking on the phone, etc. he is talking about how much he loves playing in Boston. How much he loves the team and the players, how great the Yanks/Sox rivalry is. He is having the most fun out of all the players that changed teams last year and that is extremely important. How much fun did A-Rod have this year? Without question NY really hit him hard along with Loaiza, Vazquez, and to the largest degree Kevin Brown. Players around the league are going to notice this. Curt Schilling is playing to Theo Epstein and making the Red Sox front office job much easier. Look for Theo to continue to work magic in the free agent market and adding great players while keeping the chemistry of Red Sox Nation.
  2. Ok everyone....think bigger than the free agents this season... Let Beltran go for big money to the Yankees. The best way to beat them is the same way we did this year. Pitching! Re-signing the skill position players is vital. Varitek is the most important player to sign. You cannot replace him at this point. Mueller needs to stay with the team as does Cabrera unless you replace him with Renteria but that will be expensive. Forget about Adrian Beltre; Boras will demand too much money for him. Here it is.....Johan Santana The Twins did not sign him to a long term contract and they certainly will not be able to afford him now. This is the last year of his contract. I guarantee Theo will explore this possibility. Let Pedro and D-Lowe go. The Yanks can pay too much for Beltran and Pedro is they want. The best way to go about this is sign/trade for better players. Pavano has also made it clear he does not like NY and wouldn't mind going back to where his career started. Keep the chemistry with the bats. Get better pitching AGAIN.....Schilling, Santana, Pavano, Arroyo, Wakefield .....thats lights out
  3. I hate games on Fox more than the announcers. ...wait...here it comes...YOU'RE RISKING THIS PATIENTS LIFE. I swear they only have 10 commercials to choose from. But yes Buck and McCarver are annoying. How about Scooter? Obviously being targeted toward young viewers. I loved it when Scooter was teaching about how to throw at batters. What kinda message are we sending to kids?
  4. That K-Rod thing is up in the air because this is the last year in his contract. The Angels have the money to take care of him in the end so I don't see him leaving. He is the anchor to there pitching. Here is a name.....Johan Santana The Red Sox first moves should be to keep the chemistry with the skill position players. Jason Varitek is the most important player to keep. Orlando Cabrera can really only be upgraded by signing Edgar Renteria but he will be much more expensive. What about moving Cabrera to 2B and Renteria at SS? Santana is going into the last year of his contract in 2005 because the Twins did not give him an extension at the beginning of the year. The Twins do not have the money to take care of him. I think the Red Sox should pursue him and let Pedro go. I would love to keep Pedro but the 24 year old Cy Young candidate would scare the Boss to death. Schilling and Santana....rumors are that Pavano would be most interested in coming to Boston where he was drafted. I say keep the chemistry and re-sign the skill position players. Continue to add pitching. Get more help in the bullpen and make the top three starters ace caliber. Thats where our money should go. Not toward Beltre and necessarily Renteria. I love Carlos Beltran but we have no place to put him and you could get Soriano for less which would help the batting just as much. We have a spot at 2B and Soriano is a 30/30 player. ....this is all for later though....right now....GAME 1 OF THE WORLD SERIES AND I WILL BE THERE NEXT TO FIRST BASE
