  1. Theo is very good at moving players that are already on the team. He does include prospects but usually its already guys on the club..... Hillenbrand, Nomar, Fossum, and so on.... I don't believe he needs to mortgage the future he just needs to be creative. Kelly Shoppach, Abe Alvarez, Brandon Moss....expendable and names such as Arroyo, Youk, Mueller, Embree have all come up so I think he has potential to be creative. If the Sox make another trade it will involve another team.
  2. haha exactly....somewhat of a veteran just now making himself known....i needed to prove myself before introducing myself
  3. oh yes I'm living in North Jersey (that had to be a given)....south is nice but still....ugh....guess you have to really adapt to this place to enjoy it....slow transition but by the team I'm comfortable I'll be leaving and going back to college for a few months....good experience though As for Leiter....I'm shocked but he must have come from down south cause he is much too nice to be from the north
  4. New Jersey sucks but I can say that cause its where I'm living....this place is a dump can't wait to get back to Boston
  5. Yeah I have been here for a while but never introduced myself. My name is Brian I'm from everywhere doing internships, going to college, sometimes living at home when I have off time. Currently I'm stuck in s*** hole New Jersey just outside of NYC working for a design team. I'm taking on the whole damn city myself buts its fine bring em on. Loved the Sox as long as I can remember and my favorite would have to be Yaz even though I wasn't born until 1982. and umm i dunno....vote for Pedro
  6. I think you are right and not only that but Theo has other teams involved along with Henry saying the team salary will be increased.....so Theo has room, he has players, he has connections......this needs to translate into us getting Burnett and a lefty reliever..... I would rather have JC Romero than Billy Wagner....Romero's ERA is always good and its from playing in the AL. Not to mention I don't think he is a free agent after this year.
  7. I assume Millar is playing 1st today????? not sure if anyone knows
  8. yea if Mirabelli cant hit today.....ugh his bat is as cold as it gets
  9. I heard about the Twins starter too....but who the hell would we want other than Santana......MAYBE IT IS SANTANA hahaha....forget Burnett lets get last years Cy Young Winner
  10. trust me....you dont want him I dont care how bad your bullpen is....he doesnt make it any better i promise
  11. If the deal gets done....I'm having a few doubts....its real complicated and the Orioles seem to be backing down a little cause I think they realize how much they are giving up and how much money they are taking on in return a three way deal made more sense cause it spreads out money.....this deal with the Orioles never made sense to me in the first place...I think im partially hoping it falls apart cause Burnett is sick
  12. I highly doubt Tony G is a replacement for anyone...he is just a fill in and utility guy....could you see the Red Sox going into a season with him as there starter.....not happening...good player...not happening They would make a big sign but more likely....If Youk was traded away Mueller would be resigned....I dont think he would be as expensive as some think....certainly not out of the Red Sox range....if anything it would just impact the negotiations with Damon making it realistic to sign him back.
  13. Ok so I want to know who people would rather have down the long road Bill Mueller vs. Kevin Youkilis????? I believe Youk has more power potential with the bat and is less of an injury risk, he is also a little younger (26?). Bill Mueller is close to the lead in BA with RISP. So we can call him clutch?? and switch hitting, along with the Gold Glove he will win this year (I'm calling it). ....here is something I was thinking of as a side note....this Burnett deal sounds messy and Theo might be able to step in if things get real ugly....he should make the trade and include Mike Lowell (take care of some of the money along with Florida) then turn and send him on his way with a prospect to Minnesota for JC Romero.
  14. haha right when i post....you have the answer i love this board
  15. No you are right but Bellhorn can still play defense.....it is very true that Cora has more range and is good at turning double plays..... Did I hear right that Renteria leads SS in errors???? ugh
  16. I think there is a good chance this falls apart....this trade is too involved and the Orioles havn't thought it through with the money. If it takes one more wrong turn Theo could jump right in and make a steal......we would have to take Mike Lowell BUT.....if we took some of his money maybe we could throw Lowell and something else toward MINNESOTA for Romero???????
  17. If we have any hope this year we need him back and doing well. Schilling and Foulke were our top pitchers last year...we need them healthy and in place
  18. http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/story/8658733 The Royals pulled off their first trade of the season Tuesday afternoon when they sent veteran infielder Tony Graffanino to the Boston Red Sox for two minor-league players. The deal came together in the last 24 hours when the Red Sox sought a replacement for injured second baseman Mark Bellhorn. The Royals received left-hander Juan Cedeno from Class A Wilmington and outfielder Chip Ambres from Class AAA Pawtucket.
  19. I wasn't really.... nevermind
  20. uhhh so how bout those Dolphins??
  21. EMBREE IS GONE!!!!!! don't tease me soxie...
  22. You may be right I just dont want to see a collapse by this team because they lose a club house favorite....then again Millar is kinda the same way.....ugh I wish they would just all pick it up a notch so nobody has to get traded Something tells me we will see a trade but it will be something no one was ready for and its completely different than what we read....Theo is good like that with keeping moves under the radar Players do come and go but the Red Sox will remain competitive no matter the move...whatever is best for the team
  23. It's strange but if you look at Youks game log...he really stinks with only 1 at bat in a game....i dont think he got a single hit when pinch-hitting.....on games where he bats 3-5 times...he does very well hmmmmm
  24. YES! lets do that....we may have to get the whole brain trust of the Minnesota Twins drunk first.
  25. I dunno...if the Chiefs let there offense play defense too they might have a shot....that offensive line is getting older along with Trent Green....and after an injured year for Priest Holmes....im not buying it The Baltimore Ravens may have to be my pick although I have a hard time going against the Pats cause they always win despite what people say
