  1. [edit: see my next post for Arroyo's numbers]
  2. Hey, BTW, as I've said at Buffalo Wild Wings I couldn't hear the television (thank god)...what was the story on the whole Renteria and Wells jersey thing tonight?
  3. Maybe I'm just extremely tired and overjoyed from these last couple days, but I think it was last week I was glancing back at the 2004 game four of the World Series thread and I think it would be kind of cool on the game threads page, to have a little section of some fantastic games that would be easy to go back and look at. I don't know if that would be too much work, but hey...this is the comments/suggestion section. A couple threads off the top of my head that could go on there: -- The game in 2004 that featured the A-Rod/V-tek fight and Bill Mueller walkoff HR vs. New York. -- Some of the 2004 ALCS game threads, maybe 4-7. -- World Series game seven thread. -- The 17-1 beating in New York from Saturday. -- 2004 game three ALDS against the Angels. -- The first talksox.com game thread. Again, I can't think back that far at 12:30 at night, so I can't remember much from 2004 off the top of my head. I know we had some pretty great ones against Oakland last year as well.
  4. I guess we really will encounter that problem after the All-Star game (hoping all our pitchers stay healthy). I really am hesitant on sending Arroyo to the pen...and if you want to know who I think we should, I say Wakefield. Arroyo has pitched too well to not stay a starter.
  5. Wow, times are so much easier when we are winning. On Friday I was a little worried that this board was going to explode. I mean, when you stick a good amount of Sox fans from different places with different opinions on how things should be done, and add a sweep at the hands of Toronto (plus blowing game one) things are going to start getting a little tense.
  6. Don't worry about it yeszir...and if you don't have time tomorrow that's fine as well, I know we all have things to do this long and busy Memorial Day weekend. I'm a pretty easy going guy when the Sox are winning, and I'm kind of having fun with this avator that I quickly created as well.
  7. Get comfortable, because in talksox's first year of existance they had a championship run. Expect another one this year. Oh yeah, and welcome.
  8. He went where the rest of 'Yankee Nation' goes that fears the Red Sox, the YES Boards. He said he posted on many boards, though, including a Mets board...and I'm sure the Mets fans are having as much fun with him as we are.
  9. Hey yeszir/or Element, since you haven't added it to the list of avators yet, I copied and pasted all of the pictures onto paint, then cut it down and all that, but when I try to open it up on the avator page it tells me: "The uploaded file is not a valid GIF, JPG, or PNG file. Please ensure that it is and try again." What am I doing wrong?
  10. I'll go with Dwight Evans...what a phenominal defensive player he was. He could definitely hit the ball, too though. 8 gold gloves, a 3-time All-Star, and a killer OBP.
  11. Wow, all those are amazing...I don't know which one to choose.
  12. Yeah, we're now kind of the Oakland A's...except with talent. But I mean, if you think about it, even the guys that aren't yet hitting are drawing walks (Bellhorn for example). Also, if you think about all the pitches we seem to foul off, a lot of those AB's eventually result in walks as well.
  13. If we ever start losing again this year, I'm starting one of these up again. "The Official Positive Sox Thread Part II"
  14. You mean then Anaheim comes to Boston... because if we are going to Anaheim then it will be a four hour flight to Boston for nothing on my part. (I'm just kidding, the way you worded it was just different, so I had to say something when I read it)
  15. I give it only an 'A' because we had game one and blew it. Game two and three really showed the heart this team has, though. Way to go Sox!
  16. What a game, what a game. 'Twas nice also being at a bar not having to listen to s***** ESPN announcers. P.S. For all who voted that he would only give up two runs: Cheers to us.
  17. Drill Tino to wake him up and make him realize that he's NOT THAT GREAT.
  18. http://re2.mm-c.yimg.com/image/310242559 There's no whining on talksox.
  19. For us it would be boring. For every other team besides the Sox and Yanks (especially in the AL), it would give them a new hope that maybe now they could go all the way. If you take the Sox and Yankees out of the equation in 2004, which AL team goes to the World Series? The Twins, the Angels?
  20. Just got done watching the O's get swept. Let's take advantage.
  21. Oh, I was reading this. Red Sox backup catcher Kelly Shoppach on getting hit in yesterday's game:
  22. I was watching Baseball Tonight last night and they made it sound like it was on purpose. To me, it does look like it was. The pitch doesn't look like it just got away. I think it was on purpose.
  23. We all are just in desire to see this rivalry taken to ANOTHER level, aren't we?
  24. I was thinking the same thing. Rent is locked up for 4 years I believe, and I also believe Gammons was a guy who said that all Red Sox fans would regret being down on Renteria because the big numbers he'll put up. If anything, shouldn't Hanley Ramirez start at 2nd instead? You guys probably know more about Hanley and his talents than I do, because as much as I try to keep up with our farm system, all I can do down here (in Texas) is read the box scores online.
  25. It's Jeter, though. We shouldn't expect much from him, and we especially shouldn't compare him toughness wise to Manny. I didn't see him get hit originally, but when I saw the highlight it didn't seem like it was any different from any other time he's gotten hit. I guess the location where he got hit is the main reason he might had said something later.
