  1. Yep, I know exactly what you're talking about there. Another thing that sucks is when you have to watch another teams broadcast and they repeat about 10,000 times about the Red Sox that we're the World Series Champs. It's practically every other sentence.
  2. Soxfan#1, he's been doing that all year. Say they put someone on there like Reggie Miller while he's in his last year...the Suns playing good is nothing new.
  3. Correction, it must really suck being you: http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/AP_Photo/2004/10/21/1098359287_3585.jpg http://cache.boston.com/bonzai-fba/Globe_Photo/2004/10/21/1098334941_6607.jpg Yankees suck.
  4. Can someone tell me why UPN38 does some of the games? Why not just give them all to NESN whether you're in Boston or not?
  5. Maybe he couldn't equal the effectiveness that I put forth in my post, and since he had the same view point on Mueller, he just decided to copy and paste it.
  6. Here's another link to buying Red Sox tickets...I don't know whether this was the service you used on EBAY but here's something: http://stores.ebay.com/Red-Sox-Tix-dot-Com_W0QQssPageNameZVIStoreHeaderLinksQQtZkm? I really hope you find some tickets on top of the Monster for you and your son.
  7. I guess there was once source that I missed. I listen to WEEI practically everyday online, so I forgot about that one.
  8. I say you win one game...and that's when the 11 year old girl pitcher from Oakfield, New York takes the mound for you. Refer to my other thread for a reference. P.S. This will be EXTREMELY funny is the Mets beat you guys. From then on you shall be referred to as a second-tier New York baseball team.
  9. BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH. Screw the numbers, bring on the Braves!
  10. Mueller is extremely underrated. In the era of the hitter, we really don't hear much about him with guys like Manny and Ortiz's hitting HRs, Bellhorn striking out all the time, Johnny's commercials, and captain Varitek. He just sits back there in the 7th or 8th spot, whatever it is and quietly does his job. I love a player like that.
  11. From any of the Sox websites I look at, I haven't seen anything (just now checked). I blame it on Sports Illustrated, though...Mirabelli was in there quoting about the reasons he doesn't wear batting gloves. Frickin' SI jinx's.
  12. The next generation of Yankee pitching is on the way! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/baseball/more/05/19/perfect.game.ap/index.html I think she plans on starting the Friday game at Shea, I'm pretty sure that moves Brown back to Saturday and I don't know what the Yankees will do Sunday. Rumor has it she can play some killer 1st base as well...so long to Jason Giambi. Stay tuned for further developments.
  13. White man no hit ball much in Japan? Why that happen?
  14. Aloha (thought I'd try it out) and welcome to the site.
  15. I'm sure Reggie Miller will be on the next one....if not on it, SI will have a big article about him.
  16. Let's hurry up and get an Atlanta thread going. It's officially gameday for interleague play in Boston. I'm ready to put the west coast and all of those stay up late, leave too many runners on, games behind us. Bring on the Braves!
  17. Alright, I'll go along with your stats. The pitching the Yankees have faced over the last 11 games: Pitcher: Joe Blanton (0-3) Team: Oakland Score: 5-0 W Pitcher: Rich Harden (2-2) Team: Oakland Score: 6-0 W Pitcher: Gil Meche (3-2) Team: Mariners Score: 4-3 W Pitcher: Aaron Sele (2-4) Team: Mariners Score: 7-4 W Pitcher: Jamie Moyer (4-1, 6.11 ERA) Team: Mariners Score: 13-9 Pitcher: Rich Harden (2-3) Team: Oakland Score: 9-4 W Pitcher: Joe Blanton (0-4) Team: Oakland Score: 15-6 W Pitcher: Danny Haren (1-5) Team: Oakland Score: 6-4 W Pitcher: Aaron Sele (2-4) Team: Mariners Score: 6-3 W Pitcher: Julio Mateo (1-1) Team: Mariners Score: 6-0 W Pitcher: Jamie Moyer (4-1, 6.11 ERA) Team: Mariners Score: 7-6 L There certainly aren't any Pedro Martinez's on that list. Hell, there aren't even any Byung-Hyun Kim's on that list. Congratulations, you were expected to win all those games easily and you did except the last one.
  18. I got my SI magazine this week and I just have one question: Why the obsession with Nash? http://i.a.cnn.net/si/2005_images/plus/si_cover0523.jpg He was on the cover I believe it was last issue, or the one before that with Shaq. Could we not get another picture of a say a Mavs player? Sure the Suns took a 3-2 lead last night, but who ever thought the series would be this close? I don't like the Mavs, but give them some credit, SI.
  19. Why the hell am I not able to pick up a 3rd OFer on my fantasy team? I've made a a couple moves and they aren't showing up, yet. I picked up Mantei (I believe) and my trade with the Springfield Rifles hasn't gone through yet.
  20. Actually, I have been to an interleague game. I saw the Guardians and Reds play in Cincinnati on the 4th of July last year. I am a big fan of interleague play because I love seeing interstate rivalries such as the Astros and Rangers duke it out to claim who's the best in the state. It's nice to have something different during the 162 games.
  21. What Yankees offense?
  22. I don't even know how you can make the case of O-Cab over Renteria. With Cabrera you get great defense and some offense. With Renteria you get great defense and a lot of offense --- he'll come through for us.
  23. Damon has been playing VERY well, but I'm just hoping he doesn't ask for Carlos Beltran-like money.
  24. So I guess now he'll just have to shut out the Yankees in the finale rather than Friday.
  25. The best guy on the A's team ERA wise, and we didn't even have to face him. It could have been a sweep, had Harden pitched in game two.
