  1. I know, but we both know that he's not really driving the ball at this point.
  2. I wouldn't have minded a bunt there for two reasons. Jeter could always beat it out, and they wouldn't have been able to pitch around Abreu with A-Rod on deck. Dammit, hit it hard, and of course it doesn't bounce far enough away for Minky to score.
  3. He's really off to a slow start in every aspect. His numbers, at least offensively, should eventually even out.
  4. I'm not sure about the Sox starters, but that's the way I see the Yankees rotation. Oh, I should also mention that Kim Jones said on the pregame that there's a chance that the Saturday start might go to Wang instead of Karstens. That would be a desperate move in my opinion, considering the Yankees were saying they wanted to give him two starts and he wouldn't be able to make another start if they did that. If they did do that, I'm not sure if that means Karstens would start Sunday, but I wouldn't expect to see Wang anyways.
  5. Well that's a bonus, now the top of the order and it's a runner on instead of one out (which I certainly expected).
  6. Wait a second, did the Yankees bat out of order, or am I just really confused.
  7. And there you go.
  8. If he continues to pitch the way like he has in the first few innings, I'm not confident that they're ever going to get to him today. It does seem like he's lost the plate a little the last two innings. And it really would be nice to have Matsui back. As a team the Yankees don't seem to be swinging the bat well this series, especially with RISP. Matsui, without looking at the numbers, always seems to get hits in those situations. Ugh, Cano just missed that one. Now here comes Minky and the inning is practically over.
  9. "For one reason or another, these things happen," Pavano said. "I've been through this before. I've just got to keep working. We're going to get on top of this, and we'll do what it takes. I'm going to get back out there." As much as I want to believe him, I just don't think I can.
  10. Harden mixed it up nicely that inning by not throwing the same pitch on all three 3-2 counts. High fastball to Jeter, changeup to Abreu, and another high fastball to Giambi.
  11. Runners are usually thrown out on 3-2 pitches, when it's a strikeout. I'm sure you know this, but the runner usually makes sure the ball is delivered towards home plate before he takes off.
  12. Sending the runner on a 3-2 pitch doesn't seem to work out well too often for the Yanks. Especially with A-Rod on the deck, you don't want to risk losing base runners.
  13. That changeup is nasty.
  14. I was never comparing them to the Red Sox starters.
  15. C'mon Andy, can't give Harden any more runs. OK, nice, got out of it.
  16. Yeah, that's kind of what I was getting out in an earlier post. Although thinks look bleak there appears to be a light at the end of the tunnel.
  17. They seem convinced he's OK. Didn't even see him throw any practice pitches. Minky just missed that one. He has actually swung that bat pretty well this series, even though he has no hits to show for it.
  18. Maybe the guys that no one expect to do anything against Harden will. EDIT: Ok there's a baserunner. We'll see how Harden is.
  19. One thing is for certain, the Yankees can't win consistently over the course of the season if the bullpen if being used to this extent, no matter how evenly Joe distributes the innings.
  20. Andy really needs to step it up, and live up to those 16 million dollars. Especially with all the injuries, Pettitte has to be solid, and find a way to get through six or seven innings today, even though it's clear he's not as sharp as he would like. EDIT: Pretty pitch right there.
