  1. You've got to be kidding me. He is smiling on the bench though.
  2. And another hit for Jorge.
  3. I think I spoke too soon about the luck part. As for Posada, he's really off to a great start. I don't expect him to keep it up all year, considering his age and position, but if he keeps up this level of play he's certainly going to be extended after this year.
  4. No luck needed there.
  5. That's the kind of luck they're going to need to get this ball to Mo.
  6. I don't know what Joe's planning, but I'd really rather not see Igawa today.
  7. How weird does Jeter look without number 2?
  8. Great play there to keep them in the game. A-Rod nearly put it out of reach, but still got the run in.
  9. Textbook baseball right there.
  10. OK, do we bunt here? Jeter might be able to beat it out, and even if he doesn't, run one would be so huge.
  11. That's one of the guys that Joe said he didn't want to go to today. He pitched multiple innings in both games of this series. We won't see Vizcaino unless this is another extra inning game. Great job by Pettitte there, clearly at the end of the rope, getting through that inning 1-2-3 while going to three ball counts on all three of the hitters. As for the last two innings. Obviously Mo will pitched the ninth, probably no more. I'm thinking he's go to Proctor for Swisher and Piazza. Chavez is next, and they'll probably go to Myers, especially if they're two outs, but that creates a problem. After Myers came in yesterday and was able to face Chavez and Walker back to back, the A's inserted Crosby in between them. So if the inning does not end with Chavez, I don't know what they'll do...maybe Mo. I don't know what they plan to do with Igawa, it's not like he had a very short outing on Friday.
  12. Nice job by the bottom of the Yankees order to get those two runs in. Now, how to play out the final three innings? Pettitte for the seventh. Rivera for the ninth. As for the seventh, maybe more Pettitte. Also they didn't list Proctor as one of the guys that Joe wanted to stay away from of the pregame. EDIT: With tomorrow being an off day, and the Yankees really wanting this game considering there one reliable starter is pitching, maybe they combine the 8th between Pettitte and Rivera if they still have the lead.
  13. True, but I think the right play would have been to let the RF'er catch the ball.
  14. Phelps? They would intentionally walk him to get to Minky.
  15. Wonder what Swisher was doing there, should have let the RF'er catch it so he can step into the throw.
  16. Great AB.
  17. Giambi took a different soft throwing lefty out of the ballpark last night.... EDIT: That works.
  18. I would never wish injury on a player, and I hope he doesn't miss any time, but it's nice to see him out of this game.
  19. Wow, this would really be ashame for the A's. EDIT: He's staying in, no idea what was wrong.
  20. It's not currently listed, and I know the marathon's tomorrow, but are they going to try to play a double header tomorrow?
  21. Marcum looked pretty damn good closing out the game today.
  22. That had to have nipped the outside corner, and it's location was not much different from the 3-1 pitch. EDIT: That's what I meant by going on first move.
  23. Yeah, and you have to give Kendall credit for handling it cleanly with his barehand. EDIT: I'm thinking that's the best chance they're going to get.
  24. Bad break there, ball took a fortunate bounce for Kendall. Ugh, if you're going to try to score in that situation you have to be sure to you're going to make it with A-Rod on deck.
