  1. Hell of a play there by Cano. This time a blooper down the right field line doesn't kill Igawa.
  2. Fair enough, I really hope your right considering he is the guy protecting A-Rod. EDIT: Jackson, what did the first hitter of the inning do, I missed it?
  3. They had him on the ropes. There's a good chance he may settle down, but his PC is really high and I can't see him lasting more than five, six at the most. The A's do have three pretty solid guys out of the pen, Calero, Duchshurer, and Street, so if they have the lead when Haren comes out they're in pretty decent shape.
  4. He's working the count well, but he really hasn't been hitting the ball well to start the year.
  5. Yeah and they called the error on Haren. Should have been on Walker in my opinion.
  6. Hit it well, Swisher was well positioned. Even though they're yet to record a hit this inning it would be disapointing to only get one.
  7. I'm actually not sure. It seems like YES gives him some series off during the year for whatever reason. Not sure if he is just off or if it is for a personal reason.
  8. Good eye. Have to capitalize here. 61 pitches already for Haren.
  9. Please don't run yourself out of this inning Joe. EDIT: Damn, that was close.
  10. Got to love all that fair territory.
  11. Who did the A's get for Hudson?
  12. Best part about it was that he didn't seem to throw a lot of pitches. He is going to have to give everything he's got tonight with Haren going.
  13. Haren was part of the Mark Mulder trade I believe. Billy Beane always seems to pull off these trade where he has some kind of info that no one else has.
  14. The news seems all positive, for the most part. Hopefully the Pavano thing isn't anymore than it appears, when it comes to him I'll always be a bit skeptical.
  15. Definitely better to have them earlier then later.
  16. OK, Igawa has got to command his off speed stuff if the Yankees want to have any chance of winning this game. I remember Haren beat the Yankees at least twice last year at Yankee Stadium, including a complete game (on mother's day I believe, they were using the pink bats lol). I like the mojo idea. Giambi is one of the Yankees that hasn't quite got going yet, and against his former team tonight would be a nice place to start. The Oakland bullpen has also been good through the first few games of the year, so I'd rather not deal with the trio of Calero, Duchshurer (SP?), and Street. Hopefully tonight is the night where Igawa really shows what he can do. If I'm remembering correctly the Yankees lost two out of three in Oakland last year, but in 2005 they swept in May and took two out of three in September. If they have hopes of winning this series they have to get one of the first two games, with Pettitte waiting on Sunday.
  17. I didn't hear Joe on Mike and the Maddog (not sure if that's what you're referring to), but someone that did hear him told me that the reason Pavano's start was pushed back because he had a slight injury in his lower arm. Not sure which one it is.
  18. Ugh, well that would explain it. This season is certainly off to quite a strange beginning. It would be a big boost if Igawa could rebound from last Saturday and produce a solid effort tomorrow. I would feel a lot better in the short term if he did that.
  19. Any idea what the Yankees will do with the rotation (who will start each game) on a day to day basis?
  20. Wow, that's awesome. Have a great time. So far so good for the Rangers. With a healthy Jagr and Henrik playing the way he is, this should be quite different from last year. That, along with the fact that the Rangers ended this season completely different from last season. EDIT: Marcel Hossa scores on a deflection! 3-1 Rangers. EDIT: Great win. Just barely held them off at the end. The Rangers now take control of the home ice advantage and record their first playoff win since the 1997 Eastern Conference Finals. They next play at 3:00 on Saturday in ATL.
