  1. So far the pitcher with no postseason experience is beating the pitcher with postseason experience. Funny how those things happen.
  2. Joba is not going to start a DS game.
  3. Tough to make a claim like that with no supporting evidence to back it up.
  4. But that would have been hilarious.
  5. I really hope you're right, but you would have to admit that you're basing your prediction on absolutely nothing.
  6. How many of his games have you watched?
  7. Jeter SS Damon LF Teixeira 1B Rodriguez 3B Matsui DH Posada C Cano 2B Swisher RF Cabrera CF Span CF Cabrera SS Mauer C Cuddyer 1B Kubel RF Young LF Tolbert 3B Harris DH Punto 2B I figured they would swap Cuddyer and Kubel because the Yanks have a lefty on the mound. I also would not be surprised if Swisher, Damon, and Kubel had a lot of problems tonight on defense.
  8. Very worried about the wind in the second game today. Ubaldo looks great so far. Meaningless now, but probably my best AFL pick.
  9. Duensing has been solid this year in nine starts, but it's worth noting that his last two have not been good. I watched bits and pieces of his games this year, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of difference in terms of his stuff and location. He also does not get a lot of swings and misses, so I'm hoping his recent struggles are due to some luck catching up to him.
  10. I never said the Yankees will win the series. My only point was that BSN's logic is flawed, intentionally or unintentionally. You cannot factor in past history in once instance, and then completely ignore it in another instance.
  11. How did they give away Game 2? Mota and Wagner both pitched poorly. Give Speizio and Taguchi credit.
  12. You cite the Red Sox past success against the Angels as a reason why the Red Sox will win. You don't mention the Yankees' past success against the Twins. That reeks of bias.
  13. Jason Kubel against lefties this year: .245/.301/.347 From a Yankees perspective, that is very encouraging. If he hits behind Mauer when they're facing Sabathia and Pettitte, there will be even less of a reason to pitch to Mauer.
  14. http://www.talksox.com/forum/general-baseball-forum/7453-nlds-cardinals-padres-series-thread.html EDIT: Some people called the 2006 Cardinals, A PLAYOFF TEAM, awful. No team that makes the playoffs in baseball is awful.
  15. People said the exact same thing about the 2006 Cardinals.
  16. The Yankees are a much better team than the Twins. However, a best of five series is a crap shoot, in my opinion. I would be extraordinarily disappointing, but I would not be shocked.
  17. Him and A-Rod are shaking in fear right now.
  18. According to PYTH they were a .500 team, and with tonight's loss, it would dip below .500.
  19. And Inge, one of their better hitters, was hurt for much of the second half. And Curtis Granderson really underperformed this year. Placido Polanco did as well.
  20. Well, I'm not going to lie. I'm excited, but nervous.
