  1. And Blackburn had never gotten Teixeira out before tonight. Small sample sizes...
  2. I also thought he would get out that bag of s*** on Wednesday.
  3. 0.76. It'll go down if he doesn't give up any runs here.
  4. He made a bad decision, but I wouldn't say he gave away the game. Rivera gave up a hit to Span anyway, and looked shaky on Wednesday. I would have went to Rivera, but, obviously, the result might not have been different.
  5. Which is why the postseason is such a crapshoot, and I couldn't be as optimistic as the other Yankee fans on this board. It only takes a couple bad games from the offense or one poor game from a pitcher (WHICH HAPPENS ALL THE TIME) and you're gone. In basketball, hockey, and even football the best team tends to win over a smaller sample size. But not in baseball. I still think the Yankees will win the series, but I can honestly tell you that I would not be surprised if they lost. I also realize that I'm going to get killed for this, because people are going to say that I'm downplaying or excusing the Yankees' loss tonight (or if they were to lose the series). But I've been consistent all along.
  6. He is much much better with the ball middle away.
  7. The two pitches in the AB you're talking about (his second) were in the upper regions of the strike zone. That is not A-Rod's hot zone.
  8. I don't get those things either. They looked like a team that got shut down by a pitcher who threw a good game.
  9. I figured he wouldn't go to Nathan. Hopefully it costs them, but I'm not optimistic.
  10. I don't get this. I know it wasn't really you, but it was foolish of some of you guys to talk like this series was already over. The Twins, although not as good as the Yankees, are a good ball club. Anything can happen in a short series, especially in the first round.
  11. I've been saying that all year. With the exception of a few mistakes, Torre was excellent in the postseason. There were two things all year that scared me, both of which I voiced on this forum. They were pitch selection (usually on the part of Posada) and Girardi. I think they have both combined to probably cost the Yankees this game.
  12. The combination of Hughes pitching, Posada's pitch selection, and Girardi's managing have likely cost them the game.
  13. Idiot. f***ing idiot. You do not speed up hitter's bat. Terrible. Now Rivera. f*** Girardi.
  14. Should be Rivera here.
  15. Wow, Rauch was very fortunate. He benefitted from hard hit balls at fielders, good defense, and a large strike zone.
  16. Twins benefitting from Gardenhire's lineup switch.
  17. Absolutely. Kubel goes from an all star caliber hitter against righties to a poor hitter against lefties. I would have considered the intentional walk.
  18. What's funny is that in the regular season Joe never seemed to do what I wanted, but in the first two games here, he has done everything I hoped he would do.
  19. Already squeezed twice.
  20. Really could have had more. Blackburn got very lucky.
  21. Whether they take the lead or not, it should be Joba for Span and Cabrera, Coke/Marte for Mauer and Kubel, Hughes, then Rivera. If Joba handles Span and Cabrera easily, I would let him face Mauer also. But a lefty needs to be in for Kubel.
  22. Amazing that he could get that hit considering how terrified he was up there.
