  1. He was never open. Rodgers seemed like he made his decision prior to the snap, and was simply going on the assumption that it would be open.
  2. Haha, I made that comment on the assumption that, at the very least, you would understand.
  3. Tennis judges could learn a think or two from this game's officiating crew.
  4. Heck of a throw by Brett on third down.
  5. Adrian Peterson's plants and cuts are absolutely ridiculous.
  6. This is getting way more in-depth than it should be. One of your reasons for the Vikings winning this game is how much Brett Favre wants to win it. If Brett Favre's will and desire play such a big role in the success of his team, then why did the Packers lose very important games, in large part because Brett came up short.
  7. I don't think he could have tried harder in those instances. I think he effort in those games was as high as it possibly could be. I just think that, in the end, talent and decision making are going to win out over all the other things. No matter how hard he tries, from time to time, and much more frequently at this stage of his career, Brett Favre is going to make an awful decision. Also, when did I say he doesn't show up in big games? However, for what it's worth, I can show you a fair amount of playoff games where Brett played poorly.
  8. Very well said. I was about to respond with a sarcastic remark, but it's not worth the effort at this point. What you said sums it up perfectly.
  9. Then, why, in games where you would expect his maximum effort, did he come up so small? Or is this Week 4 game more important than playoff games, because Brett Favre is mad at the Green Bay Packers? Maybe he wants this game more than other regular season games, but it won't help them win. And, considering Favre's reputation, it's possible that him trying so hard might lead to more stupid risks.
  10. Well, I don't really care about the historical aspect. The Yankees used to have the Red Sox number... Also, in terms of momentum, it doesn't concern me at all. Momentum, or lack thereof, going into the postseason has been proven meaningless numerous times.
  11. How can you continue to be so confident in your stance when you have been proven wrong over and over again by iron clad facts?
  12. I'd like to think that Favre was playing at about "300%" when he made one of his classic, awful decisions in OT in the 2008 NFC Championship Game. I'd also like to think the effort was there when he made what might have been the worse decision of his entire career in the 2004 NFC Divisional Playoff Game. The Vikings might win this game, and Favre might play well, but it will have absolutely nothing to do with the fact that he is playing the Packers.
  13. I'd prefer the Yankees play the Twins. Besides the fact that I think the Tigers are the better team, if the Tigers were to win it wouldn't jumble their rotation (besides Verlander, which I'm not so sure is a positive). The Twins, on the other hand, would be forced to either pitch Nick Blackburn in game one on short rest for the second straight start, or they would have to go with Brian Deunsing or Jeff Manship. Either way that would give the Yankees an enormous advantage right off the bat.
  14. My bad. I shouldn't have just thrown a number out there without a source. http://www.baseballmusings.com/cgi-bin/LineupAnalysis.py
  15. I'm going to give you the benefit of the doubt that you're just joking. I hope I'm right. Nine 2009 J.D. Drews would produce approximately 1093.176 runs over the course of a 162 game season.
  16. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/recap;_ylt=AmS_v..1g4te.BgfcyVJV08RvLYF?gid=291004102&prov=ap It looks like it'll be Buchholz.
  17. Clearly Miguel Cabrera has his priorities in order. http://www.freep.com/article/20091005/SPORTS02/91005019/1050/SPORTS02/Police--Cabrera-was-drunk-during-fight-with-wife
  18. The Verlander thing is really double edged. If the series goes the distance, both will pitch twice. Also, if the Tigers find a way to get to a fifth game, they will have an enormous advantage (Verlander vs. Burnett).
  19. The purpose of this thread is to discuss who the Yankees will take on the postseason roster. That's his point.
  20. Porcello vs. Baker for the ALC.
