  1. Except a lot of the things were said before the Sox started losing. I don't really care whether or not it's a joke (and believe me, I'm hardly sensitive). It's actually rather impressive, in an entirely bad way, that some people in this thread manage to hit the perfectly awful combination of disgusting immaturity and unbridled stupidity. So, to some of you, bravo. For the record, I only chose to say something because no one else did ... and I found it to be necessary.
  2. But I have no problem with people bitching about the strike zone ... even if it's not always based in reality. But while I usually try to stay out of these things, after reading tonight's thread I did feel the need to comment on one thing ... I know these games can be emotional, but the maturity in here tonight was at an all time low. I can't believe some of you guys are OK saying some of the things you post.
  3. Check swing calls are tough because the rule is so poorly defined.
  4. http://www.brooksbaseball.net/pfxVB/cache/location.php-pitchSel=452657&game=gid_2011_08_05_nyamlb_bosmlb_1&batterX=&innings=yyyyyyyyy&sp_type=1&s_type=.gif Three pitches in the strike zone called balls, three pitches out of the strike zone called strikes. And some of the things said in this thread tonight ... wow.
  5. Sadly I think they have no other choice. And Freddy would have to go in game three, if they keep the status quo in terms of performance.
  6. He was given way too much rope, especially considering how well rested the bullpen is. Girardi shouldn't care at all about whether or not he gets a win.
  7. Offensive is obviously on fire, but AJ is just all kinds of terrible.
  8. I guess I'll be the one to state the obvious here ... suspending A-Rod for this but not suspending players for actions that put people's lives in danger would be ridiculous.
  9. Hughes definitely threw the ball much better today than he had in his previous starts, but I don't think his velocity was as good as the gun indicated. Based on velocity readings from other pitchers during this season, I suspect the gun in Chicago is hot.
  10. This can't be said enough times ... their rotation is not in the greatest of shape, but the team with the third best record in baseball and the best run differential is not 'so f***ed'.
  11. This is reasonable ... although I still think there's a strong possibility that Freddy Garcia can continue to have a decent amount of success against most AL teams (but not BOS).
  12. Anyone want to explain the play to me?
  13. I'm glad that they keep scoring, but I also feel really bad for Zach Britton.
  14. Yeah, this made me laugh too. I'm pretty disappointed though that they didn't wind up with Ubaldo. They definitely need help in the rotation, so hopefully Cashman has a plan C after Ubaldo and Kuroda.
  15. Ugh, can't believe that didn't get out. First well struck ball of the inning though.
  16. Lol I know. Anyone here see the first out?
  17. That's about as bad as you can pitch in an inning without giving up a run. Everything was hit hard and he can't miss a bat to save his life.
  18. And now Reynolds. But yeah Cashman, he's untouchable. The Yankees have gone from a team that massively undervalued their prospects to a team that massively overvalues their prospects.
  19. Nova just can't put away anyone ... not even Vlad.
  20. Starting to look like the Guardians.
