  1. interesting how fast people jump of pedro's ship because he had a bad start against an al east team. i'm sure the sox front office did plenty of scouting to make sure they didn't look like fools. lets get it right though. yesteryday's game was pedro's WORSTE start this year. his other bad start was against the dodgers.. that's one bad start every EIGHT games. he picked a bad night to not have his A game. the mistake with ortiz's ground ball didn't help, then lasting's error put him down the drain. you know you're having a bad night when alex gonz hits a homer off of you. i was at the game, it was a good game but i sure would have loved to see a great pitching duel into the 9th. pedro will finish the season with an era in the low 3's. john
  2. i was at the game today. the ovation as not nearly close to what it was during yesterdays game.. but that's expected he was pitching. i sat around a bunch of idiots. some started to chant who's your daddy only to be joined by some tools. others taunted pedro, pedro. WEEI was handing out welcome back PAY-DRO signs and don't vote for pedro signs. those guys are toolbags. i watched them broadcast out their window for a little but and walked up, tapped on the glass and told them that they didn't know s*** about baseball. john
  3. so i made 2 mistakes.. oliver perez and jose guillen. perez has been absolutely terrible. was his year a fluke? don't think so. he's shown signs of dominance but just signs. guillen hasn't been doing much. it's too bad, he's not going to land garbage as a free agent. other than that i'de say i'm f***ing great :-D. i'm in 2nd place in my 50 dollar league (50 bucks to play, winner takes all) i'm 5th in my 25 dollar league (being 16th for the first 3 weeks) and i'm 1st in all my free leagues (which i use for practice drafting). lowell has been awsome for us, gg defence, mr doubles. wells is an absolute monster, mvp candidate if he was in larger market everyone else.. well, their stats speak for themselves. john
  4. thanks for defending me, but there is no need really. anyone who has read his post then mine understand that he's a complete idiot. i mean seriously now. he named himself after a bdd lol. i could play devils advocate and argue why crisp should bat at the top of the order (IF IF IF he could raise that garbage OB% of his to something like .350) but i won't. being able to contradict yourself with evidence only supports your arguement in the first place ya monkey. john
  5. carpal tunnel syndrome john
  6. LMFAO, you've got to be kidding me. berkman, dye, gomes, vlad, magglio, soriano, carlos lee, dunn, manny, bay, swisher burrel, ibanez and holliday to name a few (2006 season only) wave hello! that's not including power hitters who haven't mashed a lot this season. ie miggy, bonds wilson, matsui, abreu and sheffield. OF power is probably the most abundant power position in baseball other than 1b. john
  7. bdd is so clever. s***, paydro, greedy petey, boovation.. my god. i never knew they were harvard grads. john
  8. more the reason to put crisp 1st in the batter order right? typical dirt dog, say one thing, do another. john
  9. are you guys talking about the same oliver perez who's era has inflated over 6? i've watched 5 of his games this season and he's only had one where he has shown anything resembling 2003. the kid is simply lost out there. he has no command of the strike zone, he's wild as hell and his mechanics have changed since 03. he still K's a good amount of batters but that's because he still has the great stuff. i really wouldn't consider him low risk anymore. plus, pits would not give him up. they are going to send him down to AAA and fix him up. john
  10. guillen is the biggest joke for a manager. can't wait till this moron is out of baseball. john
  11. the reason that we don't do that is not because it didn't work last season, it's because we don't want a L L in the lineup. right now it's R R L R for our first 4 john
  12. another stupid thing coming out of dirt dog. let me teach you something about baseball. firstly, on base percentage is the percent you reach base whether it be from a hit, a walk etc. youk rocks with a .426 OB%, which is .003 behind manny and .051 more than ortiz. loretta on the other hand has a very respectable .352 OB% whereas crisp has a terrible .312. you want the guys who get on base more often to bet in front of your power hitters, such as ortiz and manny. the reason is quite simple actually. the greater the chance there is a player on base the greater the chance you'll score runs when the guy behind him gets a hit. it's that simple. i know it's hard for a dirt dog to understand this. i mean, c'mon, crisp is a SB threat, he's fast, he's young, he should bat first. youk, loretta, ortiz, then manny is without question the best 1-4 setup the sox could have with the possible exception of lowell batting in place of loretta. until crisp raises that pathetic ob% of his he won't be moved out of 8th. i'm sure it will be raised, but he's there is no chance it'll be higher than loretta let alone youk. john
  13. of course you would say that. you named yourself after the dirt dogs.. probably the worst place to read anything intelligent about baseball. john p.s.- boston dirt dogs SUCK
  14. mulder is garbage
  15. you guys are way to optimistic.. half of those guys won't become mainstay's on mlb rosters and even less will put up good numbers. but hey, root on. john
  16. pedro
  17. they are idiots.. how many times to i have to repeat this? john
  18. omg, people having fun is such a sin.. get a grip. baseball should have more guys running around high 5'ing fans after the game. f all the PC bs. it's a friggan game. john
  19. i wish i didn't trade away giambi.... oh well, good thing nick johnson is a beast so far. john
  20. sign him in 2009 for what? a 2-3 year contract? anymore than 7 mill a year would be very risky. i love the guy but we should wait until the end of the mets contract to see if he's signable. john
  21. Game Date ......... Win..... + ...... # HR'S ... + ... # Runs Scored ....... Total ........6/05.............. _1__...... + ......... _2___ .... + ......... ___5____ ........... ____8_ ........6/06.............. _0__...... + ......... __1__ .... + ......... _____7__ ........... _8____ ........6/07.............. __1_...... + ......... ___0_ .... + ......... _____2__ ........... _3____ ........6/08.............. ___1...... + ......... ____1 .... + ......... ____3___ ........... ____5_ john
  22. looking at the numbers right now brandon webb would win the cy young by a margin of 5:3... basically it wouldn't be close. it's more like a deadlock but those idiots that vote for the terrible award really don't know anything about baseball. if you win more than 20 games you're a lock to be in the cy young hunt, even if your era is 7. i would not be surprised if i saw a 25 game winner with a 5 era before my life is over. the writers are all morons. john
  23. First Base 4. Travis Hafner, Guardians 154,878 Second Base 1. Robinson Cano, Yankees 289,394 2. Mark Loretta, Red Sox 257,125 3. Tadahito Iguchi, White Sox 246,838 4. Brian Roberts, Orioles 130,702 5. Placido Polanco, Tigers 129,596 Third Base 5. Troy Glaus, Blue Jays 145,243 Shortstop 1. Derek Jeter, Yankees 537,218 Catcher 4. Victor Martinez, Guardians 196,987 Outfield 1. Manny Ramirez, Red Sox 516,658 alex rios swisher i hate the all star game. the only reason i watch it is for the pitching. even that hasn't been the same since the 99 game when pedro k'ed everybody and their mother. god that was an amazing night at fenway. i would s*** myself if i could relive that. john
