  1. One thing you have to point about Jeter (keep in mind how much I hate him because he's a Yankee) This guy plays his ass off out there. He isn't even the most talented shortstop in his CLUBHOUSE but he plays 110% and all he cares about is winning. He's never the center of controvercy. He's a clubhouse leader and a leader on the field. Jeter is a big reason why the Yankees are so good. He makes unbelievable plays with the game on the line...plain and simple. He steps his game up to the next level when his team needs it. He's a winning player and he's a class act. Too bad he plays for the wrong team! I am not going to resort to name-calling.... But Nomar really should suck it up and just f-ing play. He should realize he gets paid millions of dollars to play a GAME....
  2. I can't believe it. I'm usually the negative one, but today (despite the loss) I feel fine about this team. Things need to be put into perspective: This team has NEVER been 100% this year. Nomar hasn't played to the best of his ability, neither has Nixon. Mueller's been gone over a month. Tek's struggling. Millar's struggling. I don't have a lot of faith in Millar (sorry) but I believe Tek and Nomar WILL play better. Mueller's a quality ballplayer and I'm thrilled he's coming back to the team soon. They're 8.5 back of the Yankees and that sucks. They're 2 back of Oakland for the Wild card, and THAT sucks. I expect better things from this team in July. Besides if I were a Yankee fan I'd have to tie myself up and throw me in a closet for being such a jackass.....
  3. There's something about last night's game that restored my hope in this club. I feel about as well as a Sox fan could feel after being swept by the Yankees. Will the Sox take the AL East this year? probably not. Do they have a chance for the wild card? Absolutely. With Petey, and Schill, this team ALWAYS has a chance in a short series. So, keep the faith, root on the Sox, and keep in mind: Nomar, Trot, Mueller, Williamson were all out of this game, and the Sox still battled right to the end. If they can capture the Wild Card, anything's possible.
  4. Last night hurt a lot. The thing about last night's game was that both teams were running on empty. Leskanic was the only pitcher left (and DiNardo), Millar was playing RF (which he wouldn't do in a perfect world) Hell, the Yankees played Gary Sheffield at third (which he hadn't done in a decade). I just think luck is against the Sox right now. They'll turn it around.
  5. Aint gunna happen, guys. It's written into the collective bargaining agreement the players/owners signed. BUT, I think it would be a good thing.
  6. I actually LOVE this idea: Soriano's just as good with the bat as Nomar. Tons of ability. Glavine's a big-game pitcher. Theo....do this one!
  7. YanksHater, The salaries would balance out. Delgado's a FA after this year too....the only thing this solves is getting Nomar out of town. You gain 2 pending free agents and lose 1. It seems like a small price...but then again it's 2 rent-a-players....
  8. I hate Jeter....but mostly I hate him because he plays for the Yankees, honestly. That catch last night was pretty amazing. Gotta give him props for that. two years ago...this isn't even a discussion, because Nomar wins hands down. It burns my ass to say this....but I'm picking Jeter.
  9. It's hard, but it builds character. beats being a Yankee fan
  10. It seems the Red Sox are taking their time with Mr. Kim because rumor has it they felt like he came back too early last time. If/when he does come back, the Red Sox are certainly planning (or so it would seem) on him getting some playing time.
  11. Johnson may become available within the next few weeks. Reports out of Arizona are that the D-Backs are meeting within the next few DAYS to figure out what to do. If that happens, it's hard to imagine the Red Sox outbidding the Yankees in trade talks. Yes, they have more minor league talent, but it seems the big names (Alvarez, Youkilis, Shoppach, etc) aren't going to be traded. Surely, the Yankees would start with Robinson Cano, Dioneer Navarro, and pretty much give Arizona whatever they wanted (because George knows the Sox would go hard after Randy) I just don't see the Sox landing him (unless they REALLY give up the farm)
  12. 1. Theo Epstein is working on getting a first baseman (no names mentioned other than a week-old reference to Carlos Delgado) 2. Nomar Garciaparra is being shopped (but there probably aren't any takers) 3. Steve Finley is on the Sox' radar screen, but may not come to Boston (Larry Luchino pisses off yet another player?) 4. If Randy Johnson becomes available, the Red Sox will be interested (why wouldn't they) 5. The Mets have made Kris Benson their top priority (but I don't think the Sox were ever interested anyway). Thoughts?
  13. I never liked Sheffield (I still don't), but he has a point. I'm surprised A-rod didn't get all pissy about Shef's comments.
  14. Well, no Perez looks like. Who else is out there?
  15. I read on mlb.com that Nixon's quad tightened up on him. That's why he was the DH for last nights game
  16. This team is a case of too many millionares looking out for #1.
  17. I guess you're right. With the exception of Nomar. He doesn't deserve to play tomorrow.
  18. this team WILL NOT make the playoffs until some big changes are made. You know what changes I suggest starting with: Nomar to LA for Perez Do it tonight. This is the worst Sox team I've ever seen. And I was around for the 80s and 90s
  19. I hate Nomar more than V-Tek, but V-Tek's getting up there (on the hate list).
  20. anyway, this is off subject, so this is my last post here about this. Sox should just play Pokey, Belly, and Youk....and bench Nomar until he's traded
  21. I agree. It took the whole team to blow this one. It all starts by trading Nomar. Addition by subtraction....Just like Carl Everett. I blame John Henry for pissing him off in the first place...but now he's gotta finish the job he started and trade Nomar before he takes this team down with him!
  22. It's the overall team attitude that needs to change. Not just today. s***, if SOMEone hit the ball with the bases loaded we'd be in bed already. Now I won't sleep all night.
  23. Zenny, Can Ramirez catch a groundball AND make a throw to first? That's more than the current shortstop (nomar) is capable of....call his ass up!
  24. I don't get to any games, but if anyone who reads this does.... BOO nomar until he can't hear himself THINK anymore. Theo and company will get the point. Nomar should have just made his last error in a boston uniform. I don't care, trade him to the MFY, just get him out of boston
  25. Terry needs to go! This is the last straw!
