    Well the way Anastacio's been pitchin this spring, it is unlikely anyone will pick him up off waivers. He has improved in the last couple of outings though, which Red Sox management may not like because it makes him more likely to be picked up.

    He'll never have the chance to prove himself to be great, if he doesn't play on a regular basis however.

    They are both much better hitters than Eric Duncan will ever be.

    65 pitches for Curt today in his first MLB Spring Training game. His line was 3.2 innings 3 runs 5 hits 2 walks 3 strikeouts. The first run wasn't really his fault as Manny misplayed a ball and Bellhorn and Renteria had a little miscommunication on a bleeder up the middle. In the 4th he gave up back to back homers to Jones and Restovich. Overall he looked pretty good, the only negative I'd say would be his location, but that will come with a few more starts. I think the home opener could be reachable right now.

    Curt is making his MLB Spring Training debut today against the Twins, its at 1:05 on NESN.

    We probably could but the money would be much more wisely spent on other needs this offseason.

    I've said this a couple times already, but I think Johnny is due for a sharp decline in his performance. If he doesn't have one this season, I think he will definitely have one in '06. The Sox have to be smart and not sign this guy to a long-term contract. Add that to the fact that you have Hanley, who I think may be possible for '06.

    Yeah I feel real bad for him. All he got to do was hang around the World Champs during the playoffs, got to run out on to the field for the celebrations, ride in the parade, get a World Series ring. Tough Life. Anyways, it's not like he was going to get any playing time here. Better for him to battle for a job on San Diego and be called up if someone goes down, than to be stuck on Pawtucket and likely not be called up until September.

    I don't get how you play better off the bench. You're still playing on the floor, so he has the same abilities as if he was starting. He's just coming in a few minutes later. I don't see how that makes him 10 times better than if he started on the floor.

    I think the hearings are on St. Patty's day, which is is this Thursday and they'll definitely be covered by one of the court networks and probably ESPN, it's competing with the tourney though.

    There's no payroll of your players, basically there's no salaries so everyone is free of charge.

    Sox fall to the Dodgers 2-1 today. Arroyo pitched fairly well and Manny hit a solo homer.

    I don't think they're accusing Schilling of using roids, they just know that he is a player who like to speak his mind and give his opinion. Of course the Yanks fans are having a ball with this.

    Yanks are up 2-0. through 1.5.

    That's a shock I like it though. Payton's been very impressive so far. In almost every at-bat I've seen he's had a hit. It is Spring Training so it should be taken with a grain of salt but I really like Payton in the limited amount I've seen of him.

    2nd and 1st 0 out. Hanley snags a line drive, touches 2nd and throws to first to get the runners. Amazing heads up play for a prospect.

    Just because they were on the Red Sox, that doesn't mean that they aren't on the roids. Now I'm not accusing anyone on the Sox specifically on being on the roids, but don't just assume that all the Red Sox were clean.
