  1. WHOA WHOA Kenny Waltah in his prime was mega solid.
  2. Can he pitch at Fenway? That's my main concern. Good postseason track record. Kind of seems like a douchebag watching him pitch. But he's probably one of those classic hate him if he's on the opposing team, love him if he's on your team kind of guys. Would love to see them turn Clay into Gonzalez now.
  3. I think he was one of my stud prospects in the TalkSox Sim League.
  4. Rosenthal says this thing might still blown up. Rangers concerned about Lowell's health, and I don't blame them.
  5. The Bruins are obviously winning right now because Tuukka is in net. Him and his 1 save. Well at least that's what YH says.
  6. Only one Thomas can be blamed for was the one he didn't cover with his glove. Not his fault the D was uncharacteristically stumbling over themselves last night.
  7. Well you're taking the quote out of context. He's saying that's his worst experience with the fans here. Game 7 against Montreal was in Montreal and the fans weren't hard on him after game 7 last year... Meanwhile no mention from you as Thomas puts together a solid performance tonight.
  8. Thrilling overtime win over No.10 UMass, launches the Bobcats to 12-1-0 and Number 4 in the USCHO Poll. Top ranked team in the East.
  9. Savard. 7 year extension, WITH ONLY A 4.2 MIL CAP HIT. someone please try to tell me how this is a bad idea.
  10. So since he's ok, can I say that he shanked that drive?
  11. 4 year contract... As long as Tuukka stays in the crease he's good.
  12. That's awesome. As soon as I saw it on the replay, I thought torn ACL done for the year. Wouldn't be surprised if they sit him during the back to back this weekends and play Sobotka to be cautious.
  13. Yeah he said at one of the recent press conferences, that they were picked to finish 11th in the ECAC and while he didn't expect them to be first, he knew they were certainly not 11th. The difference is that they're not just relying on one line, as they have in past years. Players like Atkinson and Holt are thriving. The first line of Lampe, Zurevinski and Beaudoin has been dominant in almost every game. Lampe in particular has been stellar. Rand has said that he's been their best player in all 3 zones of the ice and he was dominant in that Harvard game. Wong has had a good comeback year after missing most of last year with an injury. The freshmen defensemen have been more than advertised. That Robert Morris game aside, they are giving the team a chance to win and no one expected Clarke to bee as good as he has in net. Now if they can avoid their usual new year slide, they'll be in great shape heading into the ECAC playoffs. Oh and they were up 5-0 against Princeton after 2. Simply amazing.
  14. Ho hum. Quinnipiac beats Colgate and No.5 Cornell to improve to 6-0-0 in the ECAC and 10-1-0 overall. Should be in the top 10 next week. Ho hum.
  15. Another weekend, another sweep for the Quinnipiac Bobcats. Big wins over Harvard and Dartmouth, which both feature NHL draft picks, something Quinnipiac has none of. 8-1-0, 4-0-0 in the ECAC, and should be at least in the top 15, if not the top 10 when the rankings come out on Monday.
  16. A compliment towards Thomas, backhanded as it may be..
  17. List is in that link at the bottom of my post. http://nhlnumbers.com/sort.php?pos=G&type=none
  18. 70 games over 4 seasons. That means he has never been able to handle a full load of games over a complete season. The Bruins were never going to give Kessel the bloated contract that Toronto gave him. The Bruins did not think he was worth being one of their top 3 or 4 players, when he has only demonstrated play in 1 zone, while the Bruins prefer developed 3 zone players. Meanwhile everyone and their mother knew Toronto was hot after Kessel and would pay a ransom in both picks and dollars to get him. So obviously Kessel was going to a place where he was clearly wanted no matter what the price, compared to Boston where he was only wanted at a certain dollar figure. (something probably less than what Krejci got, since the B's valued Krejci more than Kessel.) So he held out and forced the Bruins to trade him. Is Kessel worth 2 first round picks? Absolutely not, but that's what the Bruins got and it will be of tremendous value towards the future.
  19. What has Craig Anderson ever done besides this 20 game stretch??? The Bruins, with serious Stanley Cup aspirations going into this year were not going to go into the year with Craig Anderson and Tuukka Rask in net, would not have been plausible. Kessel did not want to be here/Bruins did not want to pay him the money he knew he would get from Toronto. Signing Thomas had nothing to do with whether Kessel came back...
  20. So you don't give Timmy, A VEZINA TROPHY WINNING GOALTENDER, a 5 million dollar cap hit, even for 2 or 3 years?? that's ludicrous. he has the 12th highest cap hit, which is essentially middle of the pack. I don't know how much money you think he's worth but I think 5 million is perfectly fine. Interesting players in front of him as well. Backstrom has not done anything in the playoffs. Vokoun has not done anything in the playoffs. Huet has not done anything in the playoffs and Thomas has a Vezina which the others don't. Lundqvist and Luongo have won a grand total of 2 playoff series each. Kiprusoff hasn't won a playoff series in 5 years, so there are plenty of goaltenders getting paid a lot more than him with similar playoff resumes than Thomas has. I have said before 4 years is a terrible idea, no question about it. But as far as Thomas getting paid more than he is worth and therefore taking away cap space which we'd sign Kessel, that is where you are wrong. http://nhlnumbers.com/sort.php?pos=G&type=none
  21. I think the part of this that everyone is forgetting, is that Gus Johnson is announcing this. It could be Bob Sapp and Butterbean, and i would still tune in.
  22. Anyone who cares can read my live blog of the Quinnipiac vs. Clarkson ECAC matchup at http://www.quadnews.net/sports. Tonight starting at 7 PM.
  23. Give me a break. I don't know what else you can ask for Thomas today. No one blames f***in Wideman for being a stooge and crashing into his guy. Savard is only 31. Who do you advocate getting, because there aren't many people with Savard's skillset and only 31 there for the taking. You need a couple big contracts to be the foundation of the team, and build from there. Right now it's Savard and Chara. If they get rid of Savard, which is possible, they need to throw money at a big time scorer who can replace him. plain and simple.
  24. At the price the Sox gave up, it's at least worth taking a look to see what he can do. If not he can be part of a chip in another deal.
