  1. Jon Lester was hit by a line drive in his first game coming back to Sarasota and was forced to leave the game.
  2. The Red Sox have finally signed Pedro today, Pedro Astacio. He will report to Ft. Myers for a checkup and then to Pawtucket for 3 or 4 outings before being summoned to the big leagues. I heard this on EEI this morning so no link yet.
  3. Probably won't happen if he won't waive his no trade clause, but with the way the D-backs are playing right now he may be desperate to get out of there.
  4. 1. Sox 2. Bruins 3. Pats Yankshater, I'm surprised you ranked the Revs so high.
  5. My guess is that the White Sox will try to acquire a veteran catcher because Ben Davis and Sandy Alomar aren't going to cut it.
  6. I think the White Sox gave up way too much to try to get Freddy. I heard that Reed and another prospect might be good enough to trade for Freddy but they still added Olivo in the trade who is a young and comer. The White Sox also might not even sign Freddy after this year.
  7. The thing about Randy is that he has a no trade clause and I've heard that he really doesn't want to leave Arizona. Russ Ortiz could be a good fit here as he is a proven pitcher. Tom Glavine really hasn't impressed me over the last couple of years, maybe because he's playing for the Mets, but I don't think he'd be a good fit here in Boston, even though he's a lefty.
  8. They acquired Garcia and Ben Davis for Miguel Olivo and minor leaguers Jeremy Reed (top prospect) and Mike Morse. No link yet I saw it on ESPN BottomLine.
  9. In his first rehab start he pitched a scoreless inning on Friday. His next start is scheduled for Wednesday.
  10. damn straight
  11. http://www.soxprospects.com/players/images/johnlester.jpg #31 Jon Lester- Starting Pitcher Age: 20 Born: January 7, 1984 Puyallup, WA Height: 6-3 Weight: 200 Bats: Left Throws: Left Drafted: 2nd Round, 2002 How Acquired: Draft High School: Bellarmine College Prepatory (San Jose, CA) ETA: late 2006 Scouting Report: Very athletic lefty - fastball reaches low 90's, with an above-average change-up, along with a curveball that is slowly improving. Has an easy delivery motion which has helped him to a fantastic sophomore season. While he may be one of the top pitching prospects in the organization, he still only currently projects as a third starter. This year he's 4-3 with a 4.12 ERA and 47 strikeouts.
  12. I'll take Jon Lester he was almost traded in the A-Rod trade.
  13. I don't think we should do the Mora deal because he traditionally slumps in the 2nd half of the season. I also don't think the Orioles would want Mendoza and Kim until they prove themseleves again in the big leagues
  14. I agree with Chrup in saying West and Allen will be nothing more than bench players. Jefferson could be a great player but with high schoolers it's always hit or miss.
  15. I heard on SportsCenter that Pokey could be back as early as Saturday. I don't know how true this is seeing that they probably don't want to take any chances with him seeing that he's had this injury before.
  16. I also believe they would be sending williamson to the A's. IT would be a stupid deal in my opinion.
  17. They are expected to send down Mark Malaska and despite his tear in his rotator cuff the Red Sox expect Leskanic to last the entire season. Here is the link http://redsox.bostonherald.com/redSox/view...articleid=32833
  18. If Noah Lowry can outpitch Pedro Martinez, then there is a definite chance that Bronson Arroyo can outpitch Jason Schimdt. That's the thing with baseball you never know who's going to win on any given night.
  19. When you're the world series MVP I think you deserve the attention.
  20. This comment makes absolutley no sense to be made by Bonds. It would be a different situation if he has had previous situations in which he has been harassed by people in Boston in the past. But the fact of the matter is that he has never even been to Boston. He is just relying on this information from what his dad told him when he played back in the 60's. I would say things have changed since then.
  21. I see that the TB taunter behind home plate has picked Bellhorn as his new victim this year.
  22. Here comes the comeback Belli with the double makes it 6-2.
  23. Nice hit by Manny to tie it up. Yankees are down 2-0 thanks to a home run by Jose Guillen.
  24. WOW Guardians only got 1 run in the 1st. This is incredible.
