  1. Well the last 4 times we have faced him we have, obviously you can't be successful against a pitcher every single game. The Orioles and Jays, change their lineups very frequently and not many players stay in those lineups consistently for a number of years. Plus our lineup is very superior to the Jays, the Orioles lineup is very good, but a lot of those players have joined the O's in the last couple of years, so they haven't faced Mo like we have.
  2. I think facing him roughly 15-20 times a year, has something to do it. When you only have 1 pitch and a team sees you that many times, eventually hitters are going to catch on. Until he adds another dominant pitch I think the Sox will continue to feast on him.
  3. It's a similar situation, but I think he's still in the players union, but I don't think he wants to be licensed by MLB or something.
  4. Early 1:00 start today. I know I'll be missing it so I'm gonna have to Tivo todays game. The matchup today is a battle of 2 new acquisitions. Matt Clement will be making his debut for the Red Sox and Carl Pavano will also be making his debut for the Yankees.
  5. Millar did as well, unfortunately Matsui was there.
  6. Ichiro is 2-3 so far today. He was also caught stealing by Joe Mauer.
  7. 12 through 5. Pitch count getting up however.
  8. RBI double by Sierra. 6-1 Yanks. And here comes Matsui with a man on base.
  9. I don't think Randy's having his best night, he's been wilder than expected and he left some over the plate early in the game.
  10. Wells balks, 4-1. Well the Sox have comeback before, they'll have to do it again.
  11. Yeah that's what I said at the Yankee board, 2nd biggest chokejob in the last 6 months.
  12. I've heard that one or something similar to it before.
  13. Early tentative lineups Red Sox Damon CF Renteria SS Ramirez LF Ortiz DH Millar 1B Varitek C Payton RF Mueller 3B Bellhorn 2B Yankees Jeter SS Rodriguez 3B Sheffield RF Sierra DH Matsui LF Posada C Giambi 1B Williams CF Womack 2B Sierra batting cleanup is very interesting, when I first saw that I thought it was a typo. Sierra is 23-62 against Wells, which apparently is Torre's thoughts.
  14. Look at the dates. Those posts are from last April.
  15. They beat the Hawks tonight, but I heard they almost blew a 30 point lead. I don't know how close it ever came.
  16. Now he's considering retirement? http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2028074
  17. Good to see that BK has improved in Colorado. Byung-Hyun Kim gave up eight runs in one-third of an inning against the Rangers today in his Rockies debut.
  18. Petagine and Stern are both hurt. I know Petagine had knee surgery I believe. I'll have to look up what Stern has. EDIT: Stern has a broken thumb.
  19. The Red Sox were on the cover about 4 times last year, so I don't think there's any more jinx. Unless the power of 2 curses coincided or something.
  20. If you have never heard of them, then you don't really know if they're worse than our other players.
  21. The Red Sox won't be getting Jason Young. Instead they acquired Chris Narveson, who is a lefthanded pitcher and catcher Charles Johnson. The Sox immiediately designated Johnson for assignment and released him.
  22. It'll be Clement and Wakefield with the 2 and 3 spots.
  23. If moderators are included in this contest, I'll be in.
