  1. Yeah 4 years 40 million or something like that.
  2. Lineups Angels Figgins RF Erstad 1B Finley CF Anderson LF B. Molina C McPherson 3B Rivera DH Cabrera SS Kennedy 2B Red Sox Damon CF Renteria SS Ortiz DH Ramirez LF Nixon RF Varitek C Millar 1B Mueller 3B Bellhorn 2B
  3. I don't think Shoppach is on the same level as Pedroia, plus 6 or so at bats isn't enough to judge someone.
  4. You can't trade draft picks in baseball.
  5. I just shortened it down to Los Angeles so it would look neater.
  6. Stupid me, I should have known that. I was racking my head going through people on the Sox and I was wondering why you hated Mientkiewicz so much.
  7. Just curious, who is #2 and #13 which you hate so much.
  8. I think it's our starting rotation. We really have yet to see any consistency out of anyone besides Clement. Most of the games we've lost lately have been by blowouts, because our starters have had rough beginnings. If the starters hold our opponents to about 3 or 4 runs or less and not put us in a deep hole to begin with, we have a very good shot to win.
  9. There was an article about him in ESPN the magazine and either the San Diego GM or a scout or someone in the organization, said that he wouldn't trade him for A-Rod or Pujols even if their contracts were the same, so he's not going anywhere.
  10. He's going to want 4-5 years, the Red Sox won't give him that but another team probably will. Plus he's got Boras as an agent so he's not going to budge.
  11. Well maybe we should play these weekday home matinees more often, because the 2 we've had this year both ended in walkoff blasts.
  12. Already the 6th inning in this one 3-2. Both starters are still in. Matt Clement for the Sox and Hayden Penn for the O's. No Millar, Damon or Mueller in the lineup today. Youkilis is batting leadoff. Red Sox scored on a Ortiz ground out and a 2 run double by Varitek. Orioles scored on a solo homer by Jay Gibbons and a double by B.J. Surhoff.
  13. I've heard rumors that Mussina is a pretty big bigot, not sure if it's true or not.
  14. Bogut will be a bust in the NBA, mark my words.
  15. Ortiz and Manny lead off the inning with hits.
  16. Lineups Orioles Roberts 2B Mora 3B Tejada SS Sosa RF Palmeiro 1B Surhoff LF Gibbons DH Gil C Newhan CF Red Sox Damon CF Renteria SS Ortiz DH Ramirez LF Nixon RF Varitek C Millar 1B Mueller 3B Bellhorn 2B
  17. 7:05. Should be decent weather tonight, in the high 50s with no forecast of rain. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/132260.jpg #43 Sidney Ponson (5-3 5.66) vs. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/123801.jpg #49 Tim Wakefield (4-4 4.48) Ponson needs to step up and respond after the injury to Erik Bedard. But lately he has pitched just well enough to lose. The right-hander allowed four runs in eight innings Friday against the Tigers, but the Orioles lost, 4-3. He yielded four runs in seven innings in his previous start, another loss to Philadelphia. Wakefield will try to get back on track after losing his last three starts. In those outings, Wakefield has surrendered 15 earned runs in 17 innings. This is his first start of the year against the Orioles. In his career against Baltimore, Wakefield is 11-9 with a 3.82 ERA.
  18. Nah, I can be sure they Youking. He hasn't really done anything noteworthy of booing.
  19. Lineups. No Manny tonight. Orioles Roberts 2B Mora 3B Tejada SS Sosa RF Palmeiro 1B Surhoff LF Gibbons DH Fasano C Newhan CF Red Sox Damon CF Renteria SS Ortiz DH Nixon RF Varitek C Millar 1B Mueller 3B Payton LF Bellhorn 2B
  20. Another Bellhorn fan, at least they're better than Millar fans.
  21. Renteria was named AL player of the week today. In the past week he went 16-24, with 7 runs scored. He raised his average from .239 to .295, with a hit in each game. He had 2 homers, 6 RBIs, and .680 OBP. He led the AL in total bases and had 5 multihit games.
  22. 7:05 tonight. It'll be cold at the ballpark with temperatures dropping into the high 40s, and partly cloudy. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/425555.jpg #35 Daniel Cabrera (4-3 5.30) vs. http://boston.redsox.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/150063.jpg #52 Wade Miller (1-1 6.16) Cabrera, who is searching for consistency, faced the Seattle Mariners in his most recent start, allowing just one run in seven innings with eight strikeouts. But in his previous outing, against the Phillies, he gave up seven earned runs in 3 2/3 innings. The Orioles need a productive Cabrera to compensate for the injury to Erik Bedard. Miller was rocked by the Blue Jays in his last start, giving up six hits and seven runs over two innings. Two starts ago, Miller was terrific, working 6 1/3 innings and allowing just one run in a win over the Braves. Miller has faced the Orioles just once in his career, working seven innings and allowing three earned runs in a win for the Astros during the 2003 season.
