Well I am kind of pissed off now with the latest on Schilling. But I'm not going to play the blame game. Injuries are just bad luck. We were very fortunate to not have a single starter go on the DL this year, and that was a main reason we won the whole thing. But right now I am concerned how we are going to deal with only 3 SP's on our roster and Clement has been inconsistent. The thing is though, you see scrub pitchers win all the time ex. Bruce Chen. I'd be pleased if Halama/Dinardo/Neal/Gonzalez/Other Possibilites give us 5-6 innings and keep it close. If they give up 9 runs but we score 10 I will be pleased, but they need to eat innings when they start.
Our offense needs to be on its A game in this tough 2-3 week stretch, we will need as many runs as possible during this stretch, and we will also need good work from the bullpen. Now these are very big ifs, but my point is things aren't completely bleak for the Sox and I think we will be able to survive until Miller comes back.
