I agree that he won't be in the hall of fame, but he was one of the most dominating pitchers of the last 10 years, and is a slight step below Clemens, Johnson, Maddux and Pedro. He is well ahead of Willis and Santana until they prove they can do pitch at this level for several years. Also are you implying that right now A-Rod wouldn't make the HOF and last time I checked Johnson, Trelle and Maddux only have 1 ring, while Santana has none so I would take rings out of your argument.

I agree with my fellow Sox fans on this one. I just don't feel it right to give a curtain call for a tiebreaking home run in the 7th. Save it for something spectacular. It also bugged me when Cano did it in the game against the Sox the last time they faced. If you tie it in the 9th, you can do it, but not in the 7th.

I still think he's going to be traded. The Sox like to grant players' wishes (see Dave Roberts), obviously everyone would love to have Roberts but he wanted to be traded and Theo obliged. I think the same thing will happen with Payton probably for a middle reliever. Especially since we have Stern or Ambres hoping to take Payton's spot.

Denver Post speculated this morning that the Rockies may be interested in re-acquiring Jay Payton. The article mentions that they would be willing to part with Dustan Mohr,while it doesn't mention if the Red Sox show any interest in Mohr, it says that Mohr chose Colorado over Boston in the offseason.

Ambres went 2-4 yesterday, with his 9th homer and 16th SB. I didn't realize this guy was 25, I thought he was in his late 20s, so I think he may be able to fill the role of Payton if they trade him. He's hitting .328/.436/.566 with the Pawsox.
