  1. You don't know that until you try it. I'd rather have an in house solution, then to give up some members of our farm system for Guardado or someone else. Besides we don't need him in our rotation right now, that's not the problem the bullpen is, so instead of putting our best pitcher where we don't need help, we put him in the struggling bullpen. I still think it's a great idea and you shouldn't say that he's not a closer until he fails at it.
  2. I bet that Canadien in the picture didn't get up from that hit.
  3. Probably been said, but Curt to the BP is a brilliant idea. We have a guy who can be a dominant closer. We know he has the mentality to do so, and this way we fill a big hole, without having to give up anyone. Kudos to Theo for thinking out of the box. Also kudos to Curt for going along with it. This isn't something Pedro would have done.
  4. There are several teams interested in Kotsay besides NYY. Kielty or Byrnes may also go.
  5. Looks like it'll be Payton for submarine thrower Chad Bradford.
  6. This isn't a season turning deal here. It's just a deal to replace an injured utility man with a more healthy one. An interesting thing I thought of. Both guys that we got in the Dave Roberts deal are gone in the same day.
  7. I was thinking that the list of teams he made up was of teams which he thought had dominant closers, in which he wouldn't be used as a closer, rather in a setup role. Now that Foulke is injured he may reconsider. Or it may be for a totally different reason.
  8. 1-0 Sox scored on a wild pitch by Cabrera. Meanwhile it looks like Millar will strikeout again.
  9. Good point made my Remy. Cora and Posada. Separated at Birth??
  10. I think you should think again, according to SOSH via WEEI, this is the lineup. SS Cora 3B Mueller DH Ortiz RF Nixon LF Millar 1B Olerud C Mirabelli CF Stern 2B Bellhorn
  11. I don't think Wells made a start, since there was a hoopla about him coming back without a rehab start, Schilling did though. I know in the Globe on Sunday's they include all minor leaguer's stats in the Sox system, including rehabbing big leaugers.
  12. Millar sits 2 games and now he's unhappy. Ridiculous.
  13. Home run, Young. 2-0 Rags.
  14. Home run, Dellucci. 1-0 Rags.
  15. You think the only reason we hate him is because of the slap. What about on July 24? What was the purpose of his actions there.
  16. Manny Grand Slam, and Mueller hit a homer.
  17. Timlin looks like he's coming in for the 9th.
  18. Oh he won't, I see Arroyo becoming a setup man and setting up whoever our closer shall be.
  19. Alright we need as many runs as possible here. If we don't score, it'll be interesting to see who comes in.
  20. So he can retire the side with no damage done.
